9th grade, love, nature,
Helicopter seeds
from my maple tree
drift down,
swaying
back
and
forth
from the strong branches above.
They all fall around me,
I am encapsulated by the swirling seedlings.
Snug within their warmth,
the wind sends me on my feet.
Dancing with the music of the air
that is rushing through my hair,
I inhale the sweet, mellow essence of what life has granted me.
Then I exhale the words,
"I am thankful for this life and the road, no matter how rocky, has served its purpose".
As I leave this place,
I hum the tune of the masterpiece conducted by the wind
that rustled in this tree.

Silent as smoke, darkness descends;
as shadows merge and daylight ends.
For summoned by a bullfrog's croak;
darkness descends, silent as smoke.
The Moon pools in ebony skies;
gilded golden; She starts to rise.
One of the night's brightest jewels;
in ebony skies, the Moon pools.
Blue bleeds red from a dying sun,
a telltale sign that day is done.
Inking crimson clouds overhead;
from a dying sun, blue bleeds red.
Signaling their love, fireflies flash;
as dusk settles like sooty ash.
Under the stars, twinkling above;
fireflies flash, signaling their love.

In a gorgeous meadow chock full of butterflies and daylilies there lived a
sassy happy beautiful dragonfly. She was loved by the tulips, roses, and coneflowers. The monarchs revered her, seeing the joy she brought to the meadow. This little dragonfly did her best to fit in, nurturing each aspect of the meadow as was her right.

9th grade, angst, anxiety, death, i love you, i miss you, imagery,
It's a little too quiet now,
I can no longer hear his voice.
And yet, the sound of his laughter
is still prevalent in my dreams.
He died; his soul is in heaven;
it's a little too quiet now.
And all that I took for granted,
morphed into precious memories.
His final goodbye broke my heart;
and I could hear myself screaming.
It's a little too quiet now;
and the silence is deafening.
I pray to a merciful God;
to keep him alive in my thoughts.
I'm used to hearing his heartbeat;
it's a little too quiet now.

10th grade, 11th grade, 12th grade, 9th grade, how i feel, i love you, love,
An outpouring of happiness,
love surges up from the heart
and splashes against the soul;
an emotion exclusive to humans.
More than a ubiquitous word,
love is an overwhelming desire,
that burns in your heart
and merges with your soul;
defying logic and reason.
The heart entertains a multitude
of inexplicable feelings,
beyond all hopes and expectations;
love is both ethereal and physical.
A heart filled with love forgives
what a prideful heart will not;
for love's a knee-jerk reaction,
that requires no thought.
Love can bring excruciating pain;
or a euphoric rush;
either way, it will not be ignored;
nor ever lead you astray.

Loneliness is like a graveyard haunted by ghosts,
empty memories, and unfulfilled dreams:
where hearts endure
an endless pain.
My tomorrows are fewer than my yesterdays;
it's like I'm fated to spend life alone.
In my youth, I pretended I was loved;
and can't convey how it felt to be unwanted.
I want to love and to be loved,
is that not everybody's dream?
Paper-thin smiles,
shadow sad tears.

Sitting on the beach in the dark of night
anticipation counts every heartbeat.
And when waves wash ashore in the moonlight,
I laugh as the tide tickles my bare feet.
I had you promise that you'd meet me here
under starlit skies, for our rendezvous.
Love's more real than lust and braver than fear,
it intoxicates and overwhelms you.
When you fall in love, you do silly things,
it's the elixir of eternal youth.
Fueling fledgling dreams, love lends hope wings,
tethered to your soul and anchored to truth.
When fantasy and reality meld,
life's so splendorous; it's unparalleled.

Orange is my utmost best color, my best friend, my girl.
She laughs from the rooftop, and she makes me mouth curl.
She glitters and she shines, her happy feelings for me.
Today I may take out my paints and paint an orange tree.
Most of my women cartoon paintings are ginger heads.
They come into my mind before I get out of bed.
I look around the bedroom and I laugh and I sing.
My many red-haired paintings, it makes my mind truly zing.
I have a paisley orange shirt and an orange evening gown.
Some people want my autograph, and mob me in town.
I do not dare wear either of them on my shiniest day.
I would be so manic, the mental police would cart me away.

9th grade, beauty,
~ It is pure moonlight shining down on the sea. It is a vibrant rainbow after a dark thunderstorm. It is seeing fully bloomed flowers when your having a bad day. It is waking up to the bluebirds singing gracefully at your window. It is when you first realize what love is. It is remembering your first kiss after a breakup. It is when you stop and realize all your incredible surroundings....It is beauty.~

Every day is a fresh start, a new beginning.
We can reinvent ourselves
We can be revitalized and inspired.
We can instill hope and love in others.
Every face we make, every word we utter
Every movement of our eyes and smile
Can uplift and enthuse
We can indulge ourselves in positivity.
Each day is a new day.
Yesterday is gone; it is foolish to chase it.
Today is a blank computer page.
A canvas without Gesso.
What we decide to do today
Can make us a hero or a villain
Can uplift and inspire or bully and oppress
Let’s be revitalized and refreshed,
Let’s instill love and hope

Seventeen years of stead, love Pacific weathers.

The heart is a reflection of the soul;
it suppresses the animal in Man.
It's the silent voice that says, yes, you can,
vetoing instinct; it gives hope control.
And won't settle for less than feeling whole,
trying to understand why life began.
Feelings tend to pool deep within the heart,
it's a reservoir of both joy and pain.
And though drained, over and over again,
it retains enough hope for a fresh start.
Under the threat of dreams falling apart,
trust becomes the strongest link in love's chain.
The human heart is where emotions form,
a place where love and trust define the norm.

Buffed out with time's fine emery;
Alzheimer's stole your memory.
And you sit in your chair and gaze;
lost in a perpetual haze.
Though not in pain, you don't look well;
you are little more than a shell.
And when I touch you, you pull back;
as if fending off an attack.
How horrible to be confined;
essentially trapped in one's mind.
And though I wish it was not so,
love only adds to my sorrow.
Death is something we will work through;
I will never abandon you.
And when you breathe your final breath,
smile at me through the veil of death.

If I had to choose Robin Hood, Robinson Crusoe or Peter Pan?
Hmm……
What a quandary.
What a plight.
I truly do not think I can.
I will never grow up, so I have the Peter Pan part down, furiously.
I have always yearned for my own island, and a giant tree house, curiously.
Wouldn’t I love to steal from the rich who have already stolen from the poor?
This choice cannot be done. I need a part of all of them, forever more.

Youthful days of wine and roses

For shards of broken promises
oft clip the wings of fledgling hearts.
When trickling tears begin to flow,
they swell the tides of self-pity.
And you entertain multitudes
of disparaging emotions.
Taking a moment, you reflect
upon the innocence of youth.
And the intimate, sexual
side of love that stirs libidos.
You recall first falling in love;
and how remarkable it felt.
And yet, it didn't last forever,
that feeling soon abandoned you.
You felt love slip through your fingers
like cascading grains of loose sand.
And watched happiness morph into
a morbid melancholy mood.

Every single thing you ever dreamed of doing.
Because when you are older
The inclination is there, but the knees are not.
The teeth are crumbling.
The back wants to sleep.
Seize your opportunities.
Let no one talk you out of them.
Limit yourself to no one.
Give yourself to no one.
Keep yourself young and free and do it all.
