A Tale of Fire and Ice

Part I: Ice He shines like silver midnight moon - cool marble statue, this tycoon. And though he makes the ladies swoon, of ice he’s hewn.; of ice he’s hewn. He’s poker-faced and can deceive competitors and can achieve most anything, but can’t conceive of Genevieve, of Genevieve. Like Neptune, distant from the sun - relationships he chose to shun. He thought the search for love was done. He has no one; he has no one. Now love’s allure has come his way. What will he do? What will he say? Will he grab hold, beg love to stay, or let it stray? Or let it stray? Part II: Fire This dragoness disguised in lace - passion’s flower with angel’s face, precisely picks the time and place each dream to chase, each dream to chase. Like ink the color red, she stains the hearts of those whose love she drains, and then she leaves when naught remains No lust she feigns; no lust she feigns. And now there’s one who would suffice. For him alone, she’d sacrifice her everything, so he of ice she must entice, she must entice. So Genevieve now strikes the flame. Will man of ice his love proclaim? Beneath her fire and his cold frame, they’re both the sameThey’re both the same. for Broken Wing's Form G or GIVE me an NA - Poetry Contest N/A in Your best rhyming poem Contest judged Feb 2, 2017

Sleeping With The Enemy

See what you want to see
Don't Look at me!
You are staring you are watching;
Eat what you can't be

Come sleep by my side
The whole world is our playground
Don't make a sound
Stop clowning around

In the mist of the night,
You keep me from crying

I wipe off the taste of your lips
You kiss me starting at my inner hips
You broke me in a way..
I hate to say your love is better every day
I deny you, the one thing I can't say

You are my pillow
Where I rest my legs,
Can you feel me~
This moment feels right
I just want to die here,
Die here ~
Die here by your side

I sleep with my eyes wide open,
I sleep with the enemy by my side
Come here and hold me
After you watched my worlds collide
Come here and love me
I'm yours till the end of time
You can rock me!
Under the moon and its rhyme
I put it all to a side, how I hate you inside
I can't let go
I just want you to know
I'm a fool in love with you
Even if it doesn't show!

Mystical Lore of the Moonlight Moth

Mystical amour of moonlight moth's whimsical lure, her glowing flame in sensual saffron gold attire; restless tease with every breeze, gilt cavorting contour, pale green flutterings, her wings stirring his breath afire. Lilting lightness in beaming brightness, her dark eyes shine, in the night renewed flight, fragile love on agile wings; aerial display of desire's ache amaranthine, hungry heartstrings crave what evening's ebony brings. His illumination sparks her imagination, heart’s replete, breathless beats, she basks in his halo-heat; fascination with chance her hot romance, damnation, flame’s fickled spurn, wistful wings burned, by love bittersweet. Paper Dolls

she is everything you have seen in the movies
crayola hair
velvet dress
sugar in her veins
tears glued to her face
she fingerpaints the kitchen walls like a little girl and tapes their polaroids to every surface

he is every music video you've memorized
always humming something sweet
he lights all her cigarettes
writes her into little love songs that she never listens to
wakes up and watches the sun singe the grass

she is always dancing
swallows bubblegum for breakfast
flashes pearly whites with a sharp glare
they are always going somewhere
always the first to get drunk and the last to get home

she lets him to all the driving
pushes him to speed up
to run the reds
to trust himself
to risk it all

he finishes her sentences and she finishes his cigarettes
dying is only glamorous when it belongs to her
he says she is so bright
he is scared he will burn her out
she giggles and giggles and giggles and cries
she throws away the self help books, the anti-depressants, the love letters from all the boys before

they sit across from each other on his neon leather couch
stare at each other for hours
no words
just silly faces
they giggle and giggle and giggle until it hurts

and when they scream
the ceiling bleeds
he punches holes in the walls
she shatters all the picture frames
all the furniture left limp and battered
echoes bouncing back and forth between cracked walls
paper dolls losing balance
paper house burnt down

before he knows it
he is finding glitter underneath his fingernails
behind his knee's
caught in his teeth
she wakes up with lyrics scribbled on the bottoms of her feet
the windows are always open
her hair always twirling in the wind
pretty little pills paint all of the counter tops
empty bottles sitting like molding vases

and before they know it the manic pixie dream girl and the manic pixie dream boy are intertwined all desperate and dreamlike
they've switched bones and playlists and fur coats
they crash into the room like supernova's
the carpet dyes itself red underneath their feet and everyone stares
she drowns in his drunken paradise
chokes down his charisma
coughs up stardust
and suddenly

she's bored

ties a knot around her neck with the tape from his cassettes
she wants the one she can't have and it's driven her mad
its all over
all over
all over
and she's gone
a heart-wrenching holograph that will never dance again
every girl he meets will resemble her less and less

and he's alone
paper boy
paper home
up in flames
glitter and smoke

Paranoid love

Tell me that this fear is just paranoia in my mind,
we're not straining, we're not struggling,
we're not sinking, we're just fine
I'm not perfect my dearest, but damn have I tried,
and I'll try harder but I know I'll have the same results every time
Do you want me all the ways that I am?
With all the struggles and the tears and the clinging to your hand
I fear your getting further and Im left on the shore to stand,
watching you in the distance with a bullet in my hand
Tell me all this worry, its just clutter in my mind,
tell me not to worry that we're doing just fine
Cause Im scared to run you off and I feel Im falling deep
And Im so frightened of these thoughts that its getting hard to sleep.
All I know is that the heart wants what it desires,
because of you the match inside has turned into a fire
And I feel the broken glass thats sticking from my skin,
Wondering if you'll remove the pain or push it back in
My hearts frantic wondering if you feel the same,
pleading and begging for more than just a saying,
but to feel and to see that im not alone,
with being in this love thats overwhelming
Once I told you that we didnt have a spark,
but you were lighting up and I was sitting in the dark
And this fire, this blaze its wrapped in desire
Im terrified to lose you, I think I might die or,
maybe disappear from all the pieces falling out,
im going crazy but when i open my mouth, nothing comes out,
and I cant explain to you why I just need to hold you close,
why every time you leave Im scared to let you go,
why these tears are building up behind my eyes,
all I know is that the heart wants what it desires
and it desires to be your wife
So tell me in my panic, that your words are true,
tell my my dearest what I mean to you,
tell me that this paranoia is all within my mind
we're not struggling, we're not sinking tell me we're just fine

God’s inspirational napalm set ablaze upon the trees of autumn,
Welcome to the ascension of the fall season, bursting forth onto
The leaves once evergreen.
Colors of crisp snapping, auburn reds, fires aglow oranges, and
Subdued darken browns to contrast the mixtures blending, created
By the masterful hands of a higher powers creativity.
Tender timbers mutated into a glorious display of light and color,
Splashing the palette array of natural beauty.
Blessed in magnificence the lord hushes and stills, the mortal heart,
As inspiration captures the poets ink pen to write,
Upon the empty parchment page.
Strolling lovers huddle together, beneath a wondrous tapestry,
A canopy of leaf petals, that descend as it is caressed
By a chilling fall breeze.
Whispering softly in each others ears tender words
Sweet nothings, youth in utter splendor wrapped
Embraced in loves devotional shawl of emotions.
Behold vows promises of perfection uniting
These spirits of fall, united against the winter
Winds forever more.
Cold and slain lay the roses of summer, yet within
The wild heart of innocence, the flame of desire
Shall not flicker out, nay it lives strong in the young,
A blossom of delicate distention is true loves flower.
Oh in timeless remembrance as years will pass,
And only one shadow remains between these two
Souls united joined in life as one
Shall beyond another single silhouette awaits,
Tracing these burnt ambers of autumn from long ago,
In cascading showers of melted colors of memory.
In angels tears a gentle rain does fall, yet a smile
Crosses the face of this eternal love, a blessings
Promise in one word spoken, always.
God’s inspirational napalm set ablaze upon the trees of autumn,
Welcome to the ascension of the season, bursting forth onto
The leaves of the evergreen.

A Blazing Fire

A blazing fire is crackling its refrain as I recall a love, perhaps not sane. Beside this hearth you tenderly caressed my body and we simmered; then we pressed against each other Heat was our domain! My heart now pulses rhythm with a rain which beats staccato on my window pane. Torrential is the longing in my breast - a blazing fire. The warmth of your embraces soon would wane. You left, but images have seared my brain. like you in glow of dancing flames, undressed. I wish with all my soul that I were blessed to have you here again, for I remain a blazing fire

Living Love Fire

Take a look my Love
do you see how the diamonds of our dreams
are burning so brightly and violently
silhouetting the lips of our wishes against the walls of ancient Latin gold
in the sacred villa of Love's Kingdom where there is no escape
where rescue is unwanted,
where we survive and grow stronger in the gymnasium of passion's glory
did you notice that above the rose vine gateway
the phrase Sancta Simplicitas is carved deeply into the black and white marble,
do you feel the crimson love stress within your throat,
do you taste your soul's intestinal fortitude
surfacing on your spiked tongue
as we wrestle eachother ruthlessly, like champions that die in defeat,
moral armbars, clean elbow strikes to the jaw of flippancy,
pressure point pinches to the arteries of our inhibitions,
intellectual left and right hooks landing on the cheeks of our wisdom,
poetic hip throws to the mat of hard lust
defiant choke holds of love, flawless in tight execution
penetrating the blood brain barrier with the ecstasy of warrior fervor,
and as we lay sweatied and spent on the ground of this rough enlightenment
we look at eachother admiringly and realize like young romance
that we live for a single, shared purpose
to teach love what love means,

If they ever say diamonds to diamonds, dust to dust
they'll be speaking in bereavement of our beauty and bravery, of our best,
and I won't allow that,
as I know damn well
that you will not tolerate such misgivings either my Love,
we shall build a war machine of divine desire
that will destroy the proven walls of conventional psychology
erect a fortress of love that can withstand total despair,
and they will know the strength of our diamond love
as it guides the lost and lonely
through chaotic oceans of heart hysteria as with us,
no one will ever say our love died,
because we fought for it to live my Love -

Sancta Simplicitas is an ancient Latin phrase meaning...Holy Simplicity...

As Liquid Fire Melts

As Liquid Fire Melts

As liquid fire melts with twinkling sunshine in your eyes,
Opening wings now embrace deeply all of my true emotions.

Feeling the warmth of your beating heart now fluttering so,
I see a radiant chain of daisies growing in the deep green grass.
Every choice I have ever made throughout my long life,
Has led me now to you at this very special moment in time

Beholding ivory silk starlight whispers of Heavenly angels true,
I have now a clear vision of my life, my fate, and my destiny

Becoming the richest person in this giant, lonely world—
Means finding you and sharing our love unconditionally.

All real emotions we have beholding in this life of ours,
Are part of that God-given sensitivity from the Almighty.

Truly, as liquid fire melts beyond in great stars of the cosmos,
I think of you, our love, and the starlight whispers of angels true!

Within Shattered Heart, Remained A Fire Still Lit

Within Shattered Heart, Remained A Fire Still Lit

Beset by grievous sorrows, his past full of sins
facing darkest evil truth, not mind's wishful spins,
what else could a deeply broken man try to do
when lamenting soul was tormented by loss of you?

Life carried on, nights became his one true solace
finding retreat, leaving behind this world's malice,
with his memories of your smile and glowing face
prayers cried out, that no other could your love replace.

Within shattered heart, remained a fire still lit
from its leaping flames, came echoes sent to transmit
depths of soul's faith in someday again meeting you
living life as one, as you both had planned to do.

Always, reality's hope crashing, came to bear
Epic loneliness, he is here, while you are there.

My Only Flame

My Only Flame

Love, like fire, is all-consuming,
And forever should be blooming.
Endless courtship is not a game.
As we watch each year’s seasons turn,
My torch for you will ever burn.
No regrets giving you my name.
You always will my soul inspire,
Forever be my one desire--
My first and last and only flame.

Before The Fire

I remember when our love was simple
a preamble to the heart tremble and the gods' gamble
when we didn't owe each other anything and our artistry meant everything,
we were free of hope and suffering, living on the feeling of belonging to love rising,

We made a lexicon of lightening and splendor of thunder
rendezvoued in the sharp rain of rage and grew gold roses in rebel's plunder,
taught truth not to bet on beauty but to bite into the meat of rugged reality, to taste our mettle,
you became the priestess of my noetic eyes, and I, the priest of your poetic pain, we were miracle -

Mistress Fire

You are beautiful, like fire in the night,
warming me with no boundry
heating me with severity
burning me right,
encircling me with love danger delight,
rattling my manhood's erection
lapping through circulation
engulfing my might,

How could I be in love
with the wind, earth or water
when I have you, my Mistress of Fire,
Enchantress of my blood bud, of my dark dove,
a flamed feathered rub
you lick around my head of history
using red and gold strokes to paint mystery
supernatural seductress of bonfire therapy, I delve,

I stoke you repeatedly with my masculine trunk,
you spray sparks like a star in oval orgasm,
catching you with my soul's hot prism
we give our lust divine spunk,
price for thee, my heart's eternity you've drunk,
You, a woman rediscovering love of song
I, exploring rose ritual in your dawn,
Muse and Poet, minx and hunk -

"Playing With Fire"

The heat of the fireplace
enhances the spark,
we know our love
will not fade in the dark.

We kissed amongst
burning candlelight,
your presence alone
brightened my midnight.

Nothing can extinguish
your warming touch,
a lasting impression
that meant so much.

Bound to be burned
As we played with fire,
we could not resist
and gave in to desire.

This kind of scorch
I was lucky to find,
and neither of us
ever seemed to mind.

We were both engulfed
by passion's flame,
and we only have
each other to blame.

Breath of Love

Inhale deeply my breath of love.
Hold it; try not to let it go.
Let it course through you like soul-fire.
Let it enflame you like desire.
Let it enfold you like a glove.

Exhale, and breathe me in again.
Hold me; try not to let me go.
Pull me closer, still closer in;
Until you feel me ‘neath your skin.
Inhale my breath of love again.

Fire and Ice

If snowflakes set aflame the ground They touch and wintry winds abet The flames, would she and I this day always remain deeply in love? Yet snow is snow-it’s wet, it’s cold Its frigid blanket lacks the warmth That lover’s hearts depend and thrive; It stifles, smothers all that grows and extinguishes any fire. Snow-flames are just a fantasy An image conjured in my mind But in my heart our love is true In any world we two reside inventible or otherwise.

Love's the Soul's Fire

Love’s a mystical force, that’s laden with nectar and emotion,
That many people sacrifice so much so often for in this life.
Love has the properties of an all-powerful alchemic potion,
Which is said can better help those in such a forlorn strife!

This famous four-letter word has such a unique persuasion,
And has made those lost in it so hopeless to understand it.
Love’s been known to make people quite crazy on occasion,
Which makes it most alluring and for some—a proverbial hit!

Love does make one very crazy at times because of its sheer power,
And its ever-emotive force affects surely the body, mind, and soul.
Love’s all-pervasiveness puts it in demand daily and by the hour,
And its deep influence is felt so special within one’s mind and soul!

Love’s that special emotion that many never really get enough of,
And as the language of Cupid, it sends signals not always clear to see.
This fuels a person’s fury when he or she only desires to be loved,
And will sacrifice all so greatly while crying even on a bended knee!

Love’s the soul’s fire and it makes one’s life whole and worth living,
And it’s the balm which calms frayed emotions—a surcease of sorrow.
Love’s an enchanted state of being, that when shared keeps on giving,
And with its angelic qualities helps all of us find that better tomorrow!

Love’s the soul’s fire, influenced by Cupid’s most wonderful intent;
And Love, worth its weight in gold is most worth having in our life,
As one seeks its solace and divine rapture on that final angelic ascent,
When God calls one’s soul to Heaven love abounding, free from strife!
God’s message is simple—a special need of love in one’s life and soul,
And that’s why love’s the soul’s fire, which makes us human and whole!

Your Name Love

Lost living among'st the shadows of dreams
An echo softly holds a gentle stillness

As a vision grows dimly lit holding flames
From troubles burning within chambers deep

I raise my eyes towards the mountain peaks
Winds softly echoing your voice inside the rain

One charmer who cast such cunning spells
Through a galaxy where time dances with the stars

Spirit of eternal peace and love falls uniquely pure
Into the arms of your goodness a picture develops

Drunken soul of a sailor sings to the night sky
Lament of a seagull cries eternally over waves

The Fire burns Brightly

The fire crackled and spat out embers
that gleamed brightly in the hearth.
Yet unattended they soon died away
to become dull grey ash particles.

Just like a fire need laying and tending
so too does love to help it strongly flourish.
Careful layering of dry tinder and
a few wisps of newspaper tightly curled.

Twigs and small branches added next
then a flame is held out until it ignites.
Take care to nourish your love
and show them sweet tenderness.

Gentle fanning growing more vigorous
as all starts to catch with a happy roar.
Feed it well and soak up its heat
and watch as shadows flicker on walls.

Bank it up well so it slowly smoulders
throughout the nightFan the embers
and watch the flames slowly revive
just like love does when cared for.

Bask together in its glow
as it consumes and flourishes
Filling you with love eternal
as you grow old together.

The Honest Truth

I want to be honest, fruitfully honest
But now in pain, I waver
I would much rather live in the dark hallows of my mind
Where honesty is blurred in visions of imagination
Blurred in a world where lies are often welcomed
Lies often unfurl laces of truths
I guess I never tried to be honest with myself
When saying, I could have been wrong all along

That day, when I met you,
You were everything I ever dreamed of
I was doubtful, I was gloomy
I looked into your eyes, and everything that I had once felt dissipated
I was truly enlightened by everything you were saying
Your lips, they spoke of things I have already known and already feel
But the way you said those words,
It all seemed so new from your mouth
Perhaps your words were shuffled in such a way that I thought it was new
Or maybe I was just so mesmerized, so entranced by looking in your eyes
That I decided in my mind that I have never heard this before,
That I had never seen this before
That I have never been in love like this before

Sometimes I lie to myself and say I love you
When in reality, perhaps I do not love you at all
Perhaps I hate every moment that I think about you
Because it stings like fire now
It stings like fire…
Sometimes I enjoy the sting; other times I cannot stand it
I want to be away from it
I wanna live my life without the flames of love licking at every piece of my soul
I wanna be able to look into someone else’s eyes and see love there too
That there is a possibility that I can get out of this rut
This rut that not you, but I have created

It’s silly isn't it?
How one can lie to oneself for the sake of love
For the sake of loving
Sometimes I feel like a fool when I speak the truth
Perhaps that is why that I lie to myself sometimes
And say you are the only one..
When in reality, you’re the only one I cannot reach…
That hurtsIt really does hurt
But it is the honest truth

There is hope though
There’s always hope and sometimes that is aggravating
Because hope provides some truth to the lies inside
Maybe love was meant to be explored in someone else’s shoes
I never pretend to be someone else
But at times I wish I was someone else

*Note, I actually recorded this composition, and wrote down the spoken wordsI have never tried that before-it was rather interestingTell me poets, how do you write your compositions? Do you say them out loud first? Do you hear the words in your mind and write them down silently? I would love to know your ways and methods! ~Laura

Twin Flames

Twin Flames

Twin flames of couple's fiery glow
come close together, soon to show
the surge of passions, and bestow
         emotions that combine and grow
to feed their embers burning slow.

Strong flowing currents charge the flame;
glow in the light of passion's game.
Soon fanned and fed by fuel, acclaim
the gift they know as love by name,
and hearts of each with joy proclaim.

Emboldened hearts combine to share;
surrender fears, lay each soul bare.
Two hearts on fire, as one, to care,
merge now to meld, a bonded pair...
unite their flames and love declare.

Brothers and sisters of Eden

A world changes course
expelling the good grim reaper
twisted joke
entering this forbidden zone
called democracy

Careless acts of violence black and white
mothers burying their children
so much tears soak the very grounds
salt of this earth
where moral order breaks down
in societies failure

A bad replacement shapeshifting demons rule
Where no longer they care about peoples suffering
removing God's teachings from schools
so our forefathers died in vain blood of our ancestors

Taking away human rights
amnesty international laugh a minute
lawless democracies without proper vision
killing without just cause tyrants bragging ill will
Without facing the justice of all lands

Murder is murder so says the judge above all
stealing is robbing without deeds aquired
laid down by the Lord on stone himself

We all know its the devil's playground now
Darkness of your souls reek with many lies told
When fancy coated words fall out vomit
from the mouths who ware suits
As that is a trademark
of the biggest robbers there is

Stealing even by stealth or forced to ground
poisionous morals killing the seed of truth
sewn from the garden of lust dark or light

Open your eyes blind beggars of hell
disfunctional greedy merchants and war criminals
alike you all sign a pact together like wolves
we see the suffering and torment of your weapons
tipped with poison blaming everyone but yourselves

Creating hate through your neverending violence
amongst the innocent victims raped of everything
God be merciful unto your rotten souls

Damning the victims with your pride filled agendas
we all become victims if we sit without a voice listen pride
Peace is the way forward that looks above and beyond
stand down dark spirits your lust knows no bounds
drunken with greed

Light of our saviour will come
one day supreme commander
I will kneel to the creator

When this earth goes into darkness again
we need to pray for salvation
no longer do we walk
but stumble in the pathway
of his loving ways

Rock of faith we stand strong
for our childrens sake
to give them a future generation

Mercy shake hands
make Eden beautiful again
The signs are coming to pass
to celebrate the happiness and joy
Heaven above the angels will sing

Love songs and empty words curled
Around ideas of what love
Should be, like horns that ram the unsuspecting,
Shaking and shattering bones
And all expectation of the
Normalcy in past, weak coals that don’t smolder.
Life as it should be intrigued
My mind, kindled my spirit, and
Sizzled my heart as he seeped into my pores.
Head-strong and stubborn, he carved
The strict laws into his essence.
He obeyed these principles as religion,
And like a lamb he followed
The world’s ideology of
Perfection deeper into the demise he
Designed himself every time
He bleated for a white ewe,
Not out of his love of crisp snow, but the world’s.

Autumn Fire

Autumn Fire

Those fiery leaves, before our eyes,
fall down like flames from autumn skies,
      and twirl with breezes to the ground;
begin to swirl and dance around.

With such intensity, they turned,
from velvet green to deep red-burned,
      outshining softer tans and golds,
bright flaming artistry unfolds.

And when the sun highlights deep hues
of leaves, that burn with crimson views,
the fires within our hearts ignite
to match the glow of fall's delight.

Here hand in hand, we feel the fire
   that autumn colors so inspire
and as we live our 'autumn years'
we share her glow till snow appears.

The Fire of Love

Passion heats the room,
With flickering...midnight flames-
On crackling bedsprings

Inspired by Celene Crescent’s Senryu Desires

The Fire Dance

Two naked bodies lying face to face
Conversing silently locked eye to eye
He gently pulls away from her embrace
In touching her exudes an ardent sigh
The rhythm of the moment had begun
Entangling arms and legs the stillness breaks
Like dancers moving gracefully as one
They share hot burning fires of give and take
As rapture comes she shudders in his arms
His perspiration falls like summer rain
Encore performance rings a new alarm
With tender kisses he assures no shame

The glowing coals are banked for warmth at night
Slow burning flame will rise with morning light
