Rose Two

A lone rose on the snow
petals crushed and trod upon.
In her room, she weeps.

Self Pity

Looking through my tainted window of gloom

grey skies, rain falling, feeling sorrow

impatiently wanting life to resume,

will things change, get better tomorrow,

sure that grass was greener the other side,

not walking a mile in your well trod shoes

now ashamed looking for somewhere to hide

didn't realise how easily I would bruise,

underestimate this feeling of loss

an unidentifiable man anymore

floundering like a wounded albatross,

indecent intentions, now I deplore

apologises are unheard, your not here

didn't know how so much I loved you dear.

Names

If only one shall know my name
With pride to care that I have been
A title that might share such fame
And from my cause true passion seen

A name that defines one life
Worthy of fame's price to bear
Lived for peace and free of strife
That's just, in honor, not from fear

I'd be content if called by God
A name that's less than pride affords
That leads to paths so seldom trod
     For fortune undescribed in words

From true hearts let names be heard
May lives with love define the words

Show Me God

A question asked, an answer sought
This truth be told but can’t be bought
He’s all around, down low and high
Some catch a glimpse through a needles eye

In mountains high and valleys low
A sunrise sets with ebb and flow
Above each cloud and drop of rain
He washes all with blood and vein

A child’s voice, a baby’s cry
You’ll feel his love and wonder why
A blessing sent from up above
Just look at life, you’ll see his love

I share your quest for just a peek
Here in my words is what you seek
Each grain of sand and soil we trod
Open your eyes, you will see God

Angels

A lot has been said about angels
But there's plenty more to say
Did you know that they've seen Jesus
And are with Him everyday

God gave the angels free will
And some have sinned and fell
They chose to follow the one who leads
And he leads them straight to hell

Did you know they protect our children
Until they're old enough to choose
And sometimes they are messengers
To spread the Father's News

Angels have seen the things we can't
For there's no place they haven't trod
They've even seen the one we love
For they've seen the Face of God

So when you think of angels
Remember they're in God's plans
They're here to do what He wants them to
And follow His commands

An Ode To a Young Lady

As a youth of
fourteen, I saw you
first,
With silky hair
waving, waving
along the cheecks,
You nodded, talked,
moving hands, trod,
I could not hear, but
lovely lips played.
Fancy I more, and
more lose sense,
What charm, what
beauty,
what power you
possess!
This sight I sought
whenever I drearmed,
Nothing I want, if i
see you once again.
Alas! What I call the
destiney, that takes
you far away?
The void feels ghastly,
and mush is in tumult;
Wherupon I seek u?
Whereupon I perch?
Loneliness my
destiney, I am robbed
of the rest,
How long I live alone?
How long tolerate?
Let me go
unconscious, let me
annihilate .

In Control

Path of trod packed gray snow
berries on trees around its edges grow.

Fine drawn tails of branches bared
bud less
against a sky that covers sun and high clouds;
over this place lost in time.

Shrill yet sweet bird song adding to my sense
that certain things are best not experienced alone.

Mind elsewhere I slip
my boot twisting down and under an exposed root
leaving me half sitting and cursing.

Having done its work
in delivering thoughts of you
it frees my foot.

As I cross Lovers bridge over the rushes
with my newly acquired hobble
I find myself playing with a thought ..

is it better to believe I am strong
than to try to love?

Time of Need

With welling eyes we'll trod this broken day
Still the rumbling heart with a hand in mine
And speak of precious dreams that always stay
When love is true and sweet the world's sublime
To share and comfort when a heart is blind
Raise a spirit's light from its darkest shroud
And free the weeping shadows in the mind
From a humbled pain where pride has bowed
No Sherpa guide needed when love is found
To lead a weary heart from its despair
Empathy is the medicine I've ground
To heal your broken soul because I care

To hold your hands before your heart's abyss
And be a friend, there is no better gift

Suburban Decay

SUBURBAN DECAY.

First glance,
On a Dullton day,
Golden years,
First glance,
eyes meet
to dance.
Both so old,
Winter's fling
on summer's daze,
Languid heat,
even his dog trod slow,
shops half closed,
wishing weeds a'blow,
Suburban decay,
Going nowhere much today,
Rotted pavement,
Greet and meet,
Their last romance,
Beyond first glance,
withering blasts
from adult kin,
deleted to trash,
Golden oldies,
family misfits,
thought so mouldy,
No trouble today,
Going nowhere much today,
dawdling along,
in the Slowton,
Suburban decay.

Ostara

Beautiful flowers and thoughts of spring.
Is what this Sabbot to us does bring.
Colorful eggs and the Lunar hare too.
Romance and fertility will now ensue.

Engaged as one, our Goddess and God.
In whose pathways we've vowed to trod.
Our hearts full of joy, tidings are glad.
A feast is in order for all to be had!

Wearing new robes and gowns made with care.
Making your beloved stop.... and stare.
Spending quality time with those you hold dear.
Giving love and attention to those far and those near!

Liquid Azure Sky

In a dream, I walked naked through a shimmering valley, high in the sacred mountains of a
distant world. The air was warm and moist; the ice I trod upon sparkled like precious
jewels. As I neared the precipice, I became intoxicated with joy. Suspended high above me
in a liquid azure sky, three golden suns drenched my perfect body with benevolent rays of
pure liquid love. I am the sun, the prism, and the rainbow. I am soul, child of God,
resplendent, perfect and free.

For Oscar On His 11th Birthday

Remember always Invictus and God
when you stand alone before pharisees -
thus follow the path King and saint have trod
and, son, trust in your own humanities.
Prove incorruptible and heed this wise,
the rule of men are not mighty to save -
their inward ravenings crudely devise
and their only one saving is the grave.
Loved is the divine child young in his days
whose cross to carry is your crown to wear,
whose stamp of nature a quiet strength raise -
cleave to it lest your heart fail you for fear.
Live and love, and rewarded you will be,
else all that becomes you is vanity.

Pleasing God

Man, I shall no longer try to please
though in my past I've tried.
I focus now on pleasing God,
so with my life He'll be satisfied.

I know that iI have often failed
in little things He'd have me say and do.
But through my prayer and His abundant grace
He sustains and sees me through.

One goal in life I've vowed to have
to have a likeness to that of God.
And live my life so that I might dwell with Him
when in this sinful world I no longer trod.

Brothers and Sisters Kings and Queens

I hate the N word and the B word
Black people screaming it out, their mind must be blurred
We are the rightful kings and queens the chosen ones
Stop killing each other put down your guns
Our bloodline is rich with melanin roots
Rep Black and white like a pair of converse boots
Rich in culture, Pharaohs, royalty and Inventors
Strong like a Lion, rise up my people you shall enter
Teach the youths about their history
Seen as where the winners, we will claim our victory
Look after the prince’s and princess
Trod forward, not backwards like the back of an index
Love yourself my brother and sister, Love yourself

"the Cost"

“The cost”

To know such love so raw sublime, I’d stop the very hands of time
To breathe this air so thick so rare, one must expose ones heart,
must risk it all might die must fall, no safe place to start.
The naked soul none else can know so defenseless in this world,
Spurred on by faith in love, it’s grace only then life's truth unfurled.
No easy way with heart one pays, cost all you have and more
You just know deep in your soul true treasures are in store
There’s no reserve and none deserve to touch this place divine
free gift of God so seldom trod this road I walk is mine.

Serenndipitous Reasons

Will you sway with me if I stay
Will you sing for me if I start listening
Will you smile to me if I jest for awhile
Will you love me if I show you why
It's not simple as 1,2,3
But I just want you to see clearly
That we are not meant to be
But our hearts chose you and me
To the idea of destiny I lack faith
That a force exist that conceals our fate
The path I chose to trod lead me their
And I walked a promenade that we had share
I can't believe we'd come this far
That we were remnants of crossing stars
I was not looking for you and your were not looking for me
It's just that we were victims of this blissful serendipity

Will You Be My Long Last Love

Our heart strings connected to the face of the universe.
The first time I saw you, I felt my heart taking me somewhere new.
My love trod endlessly, I felt the movement of the earth.
As I asked, Will you be my long last love?

My faith climbs high towards an endless mountain,
My fears I cast freely at the bottom of the sea.
My patience stands firm beyond the skies,
As I asked, will you be my long last love?

My doubts lie unconcerned at shore,
My trust breathes upon the breath of fresh air.
As I asked, will you be my long last love?

One Quiet Evening

I glance at the frosted pane,
the sun gives up its reign,
surrendering to the night
A cozy fire burns in the hearth,
wood smoked mixed with the smell of dinner,
my turn to cook.
She's late, the glass is dark
warm light from the candles
create a magical effect.
She'll be tired,
and surprised,
not expecting a romantic dinner.
A glance at the clock on the wall,
must be traffic holding her up.
Lights brighten the window for a flash,
a car door slams,
the heavy trod of weary feet.
The door opens,
and there she stands,
then that smile,
that makes my heart skip a beat.
Then tears brim in those green eyes
telling me,
I did something right,
on that one quiet night.

Love and Peace

Love and Peace

Beneath the horizon lies a lovely day,

waiting for sunrise to proudly display.

Reaching upward slowly, with rays of gold,

where no man trod, not even the bold.

Upward, upward nearing the crest.

     Boastfully awakening it's shining vest.

A day is born, but not long to stay,

Love and Peace we need, so do your deed...Pray!

Passover

I've called you here to break with me this bread,
to drink sweet wine and eat of peppered cod
None here a servant, each a friend, instead

Find on this board the boundless love of God
Come! Sit beside me now and eat thy fill,
while I wash from thy feet the earth you've trod

Though most here are intended of goodwill,
one man who would betray me joins us, too
So knowing, though, he's precious to me, still

Fate never altered course because one 'knew'
As such, I've called you here to say goodbye
Please love each other as I have loved you

And who lives by that love for which I die,
shall meet me in God's kingdom in the sky...

True Love's First Kiss

I cast a glance down memory lane,
I dared not gaze amiss.

Tho' many loves have crossed my path,
I pause upon a kiss.

I must be careful where I trod,
To find that 'Love' so true.

For many trails there, beckon me,
But only one will do.

I cannot make my 'Love so fair',
A jealous matron be.

As I behold along the way,
Loves not so fine as she.

As quick as the start, my journey ends,
Mind's eye views a beautiful sight.

Not knowing back then what the future held,
Nor what would be this soul's plight.

The greatness of what I now behold,
Ah, 'tis sweet to reminisce.

The delightful taste and gentle feel,
Of MY 'True Love's' first kiss.

Someone

My someone
Is like the sun
That bears life and gives shine
She is very unique
Undefinable
Yet so simple

She is the reason I continue
To trod this way of life
Not that I am fast
But it suddenly came
Very magical

Sparkling eyes
Heart throbbing
Stunned by the moment
Catches the rest of me

Falls into the pit
Of my deepest
Emotions
There is no one like her
For I know this is something
Not only an infatuation
More than what I feel

If only she would know
How long I hid
From the reality
That rattles my being

Don't let the night come forth
Let me be at your side
For it may be cold
Not so because I know
You're there
And especially
My special someone
Is none other than
You

Priceless Gifts

This was inspired by this quote by
St. Theresa of Avila - March 28, 1515-October 4,1582
“God has no body on earth but yours....”

From your hands, a child somewhere is fed
Another desperate young father ‘saves face’,
In a world eager to judge others on unfamiliar paths
That only by God’s grace, our children have not yet trod.

From your smile a lonely soul may feel alive
And kind words thaw a frozen heart.
These are priceless gifts which all can give…
Gifts of light and love that cuts through the darkness
Like two thousand years ago, each day we can herald...
“Emmanuel”..,(God with us)!

Never Meant To Be

Azure tongues lick sandy shores, erasing steps, lovers trod. And their fragile footprints fade, as cascading waves applaud. From a golden horizon; sunbeams gild the edge of night. And white clouds cluster below a rising moon's saffron light. But beauty goes unnoticed; for passion has fled the scene. And concealed behind despair; love can no longer be seen. Doubt has reared its ugly head; destroying hope yet again. And two hearts split asunder; letting anger mask their pain. Forever-dreams unravel; they were never meant to be. And two lovers walk away; their tears absorbed by the sea.
