What Is Love

I still recall our first poetic glance, dormant pen roused my fingers to dance. Her love was like a cherry blossom tree, which at first blossomed so beautifully. When a tender breeze took each fragile bud, we stood naked, vulnerable to the flood. Broken branches fell, as love became silent, our poems burned in fires, ever so violent. Her absence formed a lawless state of mind, vacant heart bled for memories left behind. Some say sorrow washes away with rain, but in heartbreak, torpid wounds leave a stain. Love is a balance of peace and distress, yet it's something two souls cannot suppress.

Death of a Lancer

My one true love with eyes of sparkling blue
Our hearts as one it was our destiny
Heaven sent you for me and me for you
It would not last but end in tragedy.

War intervened I’d have to go away
To the Crimea with the light brigade
My true love I thought of every day
Our lives on hold along with plans we’d made.

The Captain said “suppress your greatest fears
Ride close ranks and do not come asunder”
The noise of hooves were ringing in my ears
Sounds they made were like a raging thunder.

A lance pierced me and off my horse I fell
Then death came down, my life I bid farewell.

Back To Origin

People are commonly different
Symbol of diversity piece
Pure race doesn’t exists

Color and creed are just an identity
Believe only in human history
God sculptured them from clay

People are equally created
Having many opposites
But respecting others taste

When everyone is treated equal
Nothing appears but peace in hand
Discrimination, disunity and, suffering won’t be born anymore

The Mistress I Never Had

Feelings I always express,
But the outcome she suppress,
Lies I employed to impress,
Her clichés put me in distress,
Lamented for hours, tears raped my eyes,
In all da agony, I still want her to be my mistress.
Fasted but didn't pray, hoping she will comply.
Mouths mocked that she is a temptress,
Friends and foes, shouted and mumbled,
My feelings feeling stronger, now it crumbled,
A mistress, my misery, making me moody.
Her heart my aim, her love my crown,
But her rejection, makes me wanna drown.
If only she will tell me why,
She wished I changed my name...

Death, Where Are You

Skulking - lurks an unseen shadow
chilling both the heart and marrow
destiny - your dust of sorrow
                    Death, where are you

Nurturing an endless grudge
at life’s end the gentle nudge
of darkness’ - god forsaken judge
                    Death, where are you

Breathless creature littered path
a trail of tears your aftermath
cold hallowed wail of livings wrath
                    Death, where are you

My pain beseeches you dear death
free these emotions, suppress my breath
beneath your cloak let me forget
                    Death, where are you

No Value? Ha!

Her offerings, not of words themselves
But of her, her deep inflections
She gives us light and truth and love
She gives a soul direction

The words she pens, they’re more than ink
They’re a stem of her true being
For with the words, she allows us sight
Into the very core, the meaning

So, never dare to suppress her gift
Her talents shine the true light
It would do you good, to try your best
To feel, just what she writes

A Moment

the warmth of your hug...
    if i could stop time
             it would be now
    too soon have you become
thin and frail
          and sweetly delicate.

i can feel your bones
     the vulnerability
             and fight hard to suppress
     my worry
and to cherish this moment...

For My Valentine

Oh dear! My beloved sweet Valentine, My heart holds a fervor I can't define. My love, I fail to express. My true feelings I suppress. But, in my heart n' thoughts, like sun you shine!

The Crime of Love

Shall I suppress the hankering of love,
And behold one’s stifle whispering bare,
Or quench thy besmirch of venom thereof,
Or bedight thy fog, doer of despair?
Before perceiving wisdom of thy crime,
Judgement of thyself no question make,
When desires approach years of prime,
Must respect and morals themselves forsake?
Though slavery gone captured we still be,
Yet must we all have thy person to blame?
Praise thy duets of similarity,
Forswear injustice and love all the same,
So even I not man still do yet swain
For love alone must I wish to gain.

"A Thousand Hours"

Can anyone make this pain stop?
   Can anything make me forget
how much you meant to me?
           No.
             Never.
Just tying to suppress the feelings
    too overwhelming to bear...
Asphyxiating me one puff at a time.
            Until I see you again
and I'll say the same thing to you
                      once more,
"Hey."

Adrift In Time

Giving in to the promise of peace; I remove all distractions from sight. And closing my eyes, summon release, welcoming night, a refuge from light. Embracing the composure of sleep, reality ceases to exist. And dreams begin a sensual sweep for forgotten feelings, love had missed. Exploring fantasies in my mind; my libido's allowed to roam free. And there's no way to tell what I'll find; or what kind of heartache awaits me. In this realm lies tranquility, a place of shadows adrift in time. Stripped of all responsibility; egos suppress anxieties climb.

Tormented

I can no longer suppress this deep loathing
That writhes and churns, flogs and smothers
Every loving and tender sentiment within
My sullen mind;
Once filled with vain gaiety and vain desire,
Now embittered.
Isolation can make weak even the strongest souls,
But a noose to the neck will not ease this pain,
For Death denies such true repose.
Then tell me, how can I ever be at peace,
When alive the guilt kills me so?

The Colors of Humanity

Manacles suppress a beautiful mind
decayed by the stench of putrid bitterness
created long before Mr. Whitney
made you expendable

yet you loathe me
despite my relation to Harriet

uncle Tom was never relevant
nor did his cabin provide shelter
unto your bitterness
its wood burned food for thought

could one become a christian
to be born again
and return as an abolitionist
the absurdity of it astounds me

but chains will always bind us together
regardless of our ancestry

linked through the color of love
red hues splashed in anger
dipped in disdain
tainted by the past
we live to paint
the pictures shadows cast......

Revelation

What more have we to write about?
Waters rippling from thrown stones?
And what of passion or true love
Found only through lasting pain.
The aches suffered throughout the times
Will surface forevermore,
Relentless to our fighting urge
To suppress the burn once more.
Stabbing at our beating hearts
A strike merely meant to wound
So as to heal, so as to learn
From the pasts we live within,
Trapped like a mouse inside a maze
Which has no exit nor light;
A lonely soul left to wander 'round
'Til it finds a wall to sob near.
What more have we to write of,
You ask?
No, what more have we to see.

SHAKESPEARE

SUMMON the deity of love to become visible
HEAR the cry…of a man’s lost soul!
ASCEND and occupy the throne of my wishes
KEEP all the stars together to fulfill my dreams
EVICT the forces of loneliness and heartache
SUPPRESS the strength of sorrow and grief
PERNICIOUS intentions must be cancelled
EVEN our self-serving and selfish motives must be deleted
ACQUIRE all the divine power inside your wholeness
REAP all the feelings of a good harvest
EXTRACT the juice of a good heart and pureness
“let our heart and soul be nourished!”

How I Feel Right Now.

A love that lives only for you,
A love without a beginning and without end.
A love so tender yet so true
A love that the strongest storm can’t bend.

A love all consuming my every thought
A love so real you feel its soft caress.
A love others can’t find, but it’s always sought
A love with passion unable to suppress.

A love for you never ending is my vow
A love that will survive the span of time.
A love I didn’t believe possible until now
A love my dear, so sweet, so sublime.

A love you’ll never have to seek
A love that endlessly aches for you.
A love we share, so rare, so unique
A love my sweet, that makes all things new.

Virtues and Vices

Rights and wrongs
Too entangled
A war is fine
Kill for peace
Unable to judge
As virtue just died

Love and hatred
Wrongly blend
Hate to love
Or love to hate
Sums up in hate
Self confused.

Lies and truths
Inseparable pals
Lying to live
Or living to lie
life so absurd
As credibility lost

Logic and myth
Rationale rare
Religion reins men
God an excuse
To suppress men
As evils rule minds

I Wish

I wish life had a backspace key,
One that could only be found,
Inside of me,

So I can start to hit the button until,
I'm back to a fresh page of life,
And have had my fill,

I wish stress had a volume knob,
One that can suppress,
And stop my silent sobs,

So I can twist to a more silent serenity,
Live life on life's terms,
And be happy for the clocks infinity.

December My Last Moment

(31 December 2012 – 11:50PM)

On the last day of 2012
I am indeed feeling the agony of abandonment.
I even talked to the moon and sea about this.
I don’t know what to do to take as nothing exist.
Ya Allah help me to convince this someone that I never said lie
Don’t dwell on it anymore.
Let be the understanding of love be the one to suppress hatred.
I don’t love hatred

A Kiss of Sunshine

Beautiful light that lasted for long
Your lightening shine suppress the cloud

Brilliant Beauty from coast to coast
Your brighter shine rule my world

My lovely kids love painting in your midst
Cos your presence add meaning to their paint

Myself as well stock under your bountiful
Likewise my firm, my wife roam through you

Your fins and flippers eat the sea
But your dominant serve the plant

That is why I love to kiss you
Cos you never demand without supply

My sunshine, you are the haven
That shine my home and my coats.

Made Me Very Happy

As he lay withdrawn and somber I gaze in fear, I cannot suppress. Knowing not where his shattered stream will flow mid wings of ancestral trees; ripples near heaven's reach. Oh, my love I don't want to leave your arms. Shadow hovers abreast dressed in a shroud without absence of compassion or grace reaching the stretch above unbroken cloud. Moments of sorrow in rage trampled fear and grave. I will endeavor. I feel your warmth beside me you made me very happy. 4/9/2018 Poetry Contest: It's All About Four Sponsored by: Broken Wings

A Drop of Sorrow

"a dagger of pain, a tear of grief"
                                   ~ Constance La France

"A dagger of pain, a tear of grief"
I stagger again in sheer disbelief

A lifetime of ache, a twinge of hurt
A prime heartbreak, I cringe in discomfort

A sting of distress, a twist in fate
I sing to suppress dismissed hope's dictate

A lament of woe, a prick of stress
This torment slow, a trick of love's caress

A drop of sorrow, a pang of throes
It'll stop tomorrow, this clang of shadows

Show Desire

You leave me with desire;
hope when I had not,
how you share with me the smiles of
a dying man.
Do you realize what you do to me?
And in your eyes and actions I see
the love you had for me.
Do not deny,
do not suppress the urges
you have.
I long for you,
caring for the way you
hold yourself;
for your hidden secrets,
I wish for you to
show what you try to hide;
I already know it's face.
