Love Poems About Socrates or Socrates Love Poems

Sappho

Crimson lips, lovers awaken with a kiss
Creamy white skinned Goddesses resting
In a time where Socrates lusted after Sappho's
Poetry and art.

The Grecian people worshiped her with
her beauty and exquisite prose. On the wings
of her art she played enchanting music arranged
for immortality.

Golden chariots in fields of apples bold,
yet, solitary like one fallen from the tree,
Sappho wrote her memoirs and music
while exiled, her death unspoken.

Friend of Wisdom

FRIEND of WISDOM

Philosopher, they call me,
Following Pythagoras of old,
A friend of wisdom it means and
Nothing more.

For years philosophy’s principles
I tried to understand and
For decades her ethics strived
To apply
Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Heraclitus
My subjects were, thus
Faithfully devoted to
Their teaching
With no success, I confess
From my part
But not because of a lack
Of trying

And now,
That my life's end, I discern clearer
By the day
To my horror came to realize
That although loyal a FRIEND of WISDOM
I have remained to this day
WISDOM herself NEVER thought of me
THE SAME WAY!

Socrates

Calm and candid in sagely guise,
A free man bold who paid truth's price;
Name forged vivid among the wise,
Did query cold, clear thought surprise;
Instruct the wit as questions hurl,
Demand the truth as logic frames.
See reason fit what thinking swirls,
Obsess clear proof beyond mind games;
Choice dares forfeit all without fear,
Reach a sure feel for love of truth;
Ask blind conceit to answer here,
Trust instinct feel with solid groove;
Escape not then what conflicts trace,
Sense surely when fate confronts face.

Thy Celestial Way

The shadows of doubt were following me since my life’s dawn
Overcastting my thoughts as not to find the place that I belong

But Thou, my Lord, have shown me Thy everlasting celestial way:
Unconditionally to love every being of your creation to this day

For that my heart everlastingly Thy glory would thankfully sing
Continuously working the desired peace on this planet to bring

This Is Not a Poem, It Is a Truth U People Need To Be Reminded Of-----

in my junior year of college i learned the following and in the midst of the madness of last midnight i don't know why i suddenly remembered this.....so if you are expecting a poem stop here...if you are willing to learn read on:
2,500 years ago Socrates opined: "THE PERFECT HUMAN BEINGS ARE ALL HUMAN BEING PUT TOGETHER: IT IS A COLLECTIVE: IT IS A "WE": IT IS ALL OF US PUT TOGETHER THAT MAKES P E R F E C T I O N !
and i say "there are as many forms of love as there are human beings on this god forsaken earth! IF THIS EDIFIED YOU DON'T THANK ME, THANK SOCRATES, IF YOU IGNORE IT I CURSE YOU FOR DISMISSING GENIUS" PHREEPOETRY ~free cee!~

Beyond Reach

Across borders

My Love was lost
hidden afar
further to breach
Like kids chase dandelions till they cannot be reached
I've cast myself away like a stone in the deep

Across borders

Across borders

I've shot crimson roman candles through my subtleties
Expressions I've repressed within the shadows of my grief
extends through out of my yearning like a hound tied to the leash

Across borders

Across borders

I wish to sojourn the tides like Ulysses
But I know "the hottest love has the coldest end" like quotes of Socrates
Across borders like renaissance statues with no sight nor speech

Just Enough

. for public domain

I would like to sit with Socrates,
discuss a life well drawn,
so I may leave a portrait behind,
for friends to look upon.

Or maybe walk a while with Christ,
soak in his talk of love,
so he might accept me as a friend,
and welcome me above.

But only the words they left behind
to guide me on my way,
must be just enough, simple and frugal,
to get me through each day.

Nature's Here

I got a dollar in my pocket
I'm in the jaws of poverty
This is true
I might be crazy
But I don't know what to do.

I'm in the cradle of SOCRATES
Help me please
You know how I feel I'm not at ease
Honey, sugar please only when I bleed
Come on we should go somewhere

And taste the weather
I need to walk on nature's chest
Pull the grass and see what it's
Made of, nature's here, babe
Nature's here

Socrates, Jesus and Buddha

Socrates and Jesus met the Buddha one fine day
Comparing notes on favorite quotes
Of love, life, work and play.
Socrates said “Questioning” was the way to truth made clear
While Jesus said, “Love everyone, even those we hate and fear.”
Buddha on the other hand smiled and kept on walking,
Thinking to himself he said, “Need more silence and less talking.”

Wisdom Lovers Iii

Advisable would be for someone who endeavors wisdom to attain

Socrates' rebukes to seek rather than the applauds of fools to obtain!

Expert

I'm not an expert on
the opposite gender
or bedroom activities
I'm more into philosophy
So ask me about Socrates
I could put
more words together about her than ten thousand terrific dictionaries.
She's taller than me
But only because
she's wearing high heels
Kawaii level : Japanese

I'll give you all my love, tell me how it feels
You're an onion love
I can see your peels.
I'm a sober environmentalist I don't burn trees.
Poetry deeper than the seas
Can you model for me please.
We were making jokes about her friends weaves.

Socrates

Oh dear heart alive!
Will you free me from this circular prison?
The everlasting soul
Whimpers
In her corner with no hand to hold
All the motions resume
And the virtue of men remain unresolved
Wandering through the poet's art.
Green is still green under the sky's unfaltering blue.
If only her hands were smooth
Then life wouldn't be so cruel.

Socrates the Greatest Classical Greek Philosopher

Socrates The Greatest Classical Greek Philosopher
A man who stood for truth
Who confronted liars and stood alone
A shield against injustice and fraudsters
We were captives we were blind we couldn’t see
A man who taught us how to set our heart free
A man who believed in the power of knowledge
A sweet fountain of emotion
A man full of devotion
When there was night and dark
He came as a divine spark
We have eyes but we don’t have sight
Truth is the reflection of love and light.

Learning, Studying, Loving

Against the evil that enslaves,
our musculature
is the reading and information....
that reveal freedom...
Evil makes wars
we make fight... evil does
malice, egocentricity, ignorance
stupidity, cause us
cognitive gaps... but
The righteous fight
with literature,
lucidity
and poetry...
We must dialogue with
the thought, Plato,
Socrates,
Beauvoir...
Dialogue is our meeting...
  dialogue with everyone
That's how we create resistance...
against hate,
the remedy is Love!

Rise and Shine

Hot hot from the pot
The Earl of Grey
To start my day.

We sit and chatter
About this and that
Socrates and Plato
And things like that.

From a distant past
We flow through time,
Unfolding a future
Of precious dreams of mine.

Something to Remember

"The hottest love has the coldest end" ~ Socrates

Our love's flame, tonight became
just a dying ember.
Will there be something to remember?

Amour Fati

A modern day Socrates
Intellectual extraordinaire
Books piled high in his corner
“Have a read” “pull up a chair”

His wisdom flows so freely
“Do unto others and you would have them do unto you”
“There only one person you can change”
“Acknowledging our own ignorance, leads us to the truth”

“Become aware of each and every moment”
Amour fati is his creed
Wanting for nothing
Spread the word by planting seeds

His life message is really so simple
“We already possess all we’ll ever need”
“It’s not about what we gain in life”
“It’s about accepting life…and that’s what sets us free”

Amour fati - "Love of one's fate"
