In the Sand

He walked down to the sea, lonely and bored
then dips his hand in the warm ocean brine.
Forty years she was the one he adored,
so he kneels to pray for her, one more time.

He spells out her name in the smooth beach sand
then he watches a wave wash it away.
Whispers "Goodbye" just as he starts to stand
he wishes there was more that he could say.

A gentle rumble as breaks a small wave
he can smell her perfume as on the breeze.
He has not the strength to visit her grave
self-pity and pain is all that he sees.

Watches seagulls as they swarm a shrimp boat
as it makes a turn back toward the bay.
Hollow and empty he feels without hope
and wishes a wave would wash it away.

Roll On

Lauren Hill slow songs thrill,

they pop like a fast moving pill,

I am flopped on top of a junk food bill,

and running with a skunk who tells me to take in my fill-

like leading um' on into my dream,
I create a festering lean,

I rank every thought in order of how I like it,

and prep for a long time that's gonna break all the cycles.

Striding with my shrine,

as I shock a spine,

revitalize and prime-

as I preen and primp and chimp-

as I act like a pimp,

I black out and gimp,

skimp out on my dying moment because death is no shrimp!

I Love Shrimp

I love shrimp
Oh how I love shrimp
Whether it be breaded
And deep fried
Or steamed
With melted butter
On the side
I love shrimp

Shedding Our Skin Within the Roots of Our Love

baked salmon and breadsticks
tortilla soup and baby shrimp salad
your smile and your charm
sincere enjoyment and natural fun
funny conversation and hearty laughter
nobody else....just us two
comfortable in our skin....letting our true selves shine
tonight, we do not have to be 'on'
no spotlights....no curtains
just you, me, and no hint of a number three
lemon cream cake and butter ocean ice cream
extra thick oreo shake and crustless cheesecake
your femininity....your worth
so relaxed....so content
ole mike was right....love never felt so good....

Unsuccessful

A lot of folks love these appetizers that are deep fried. I attempted to make my own. I certainly tried. For a viable recipe, a long time I hunted. However, they didn’t turn out the way I wanted. I took key ingredients and rolled them up in thin dough. Shrimp, pork, and vegetables was the way I would go. Just what did I get for all my toil? The skins broke apart, and all was scattered through the oil. Before I ever attempt a second undertaking, I would like to know how to keep those things from breaking.

Choose For Me I Said and Make Sure It's a He

Looked in the lobster tank
Could not bear thinking
of them possibly boiling a mother
I said please choose a he
I wondered if it would be like a hot tub
at first cozy and relaxing,
i felt sorry for my shrimp
and yet i love the taste

Push My Button

we climbed into the submarine trainer
is that when
your arm around me at the theater
did you then
we shared a bowl of shrimp
when you said
i should push my button
through one more hole
is that when you wanted me?
not wanting me to share
one more bit of flesh
with any other man
you looked deep and fell
into my green-sea eyes
rocking on our first cruise
one that would never find shore again

"our Night"

I can still smell your perfume although miles away...
I can still feel the back of your ear on my lips...
Your soft glistening kisses on my chest all day...
Its been so long since we tangled our legs under sheets...
In the middle of the night chatting like our first meet...
Your smooth arms and shoulders to your succulent neck...
I can kiss you for hours as our hands travel and connect...
Hidden away from the noise of we drift in ourselves...
Phones shut off for we can play with our own bells...
Room service at midnight shrimp and some fries...
This night is all ours as we are free from life's ties...
