Beauty Can't Compete

Lingering rays of sunlight slowly die as scarlet burns the sky, where clouds ignite. And while the birds roost, bats begin to fly, capturing elusive moths in mid-flight. Luna hangs high in an ebony sky, spinning dreams into beams of golden light. And twinkling stars, like fireflies in the night, confetti the heavens, dazzling the eye. Like gold filigree pinned to the darkness galaxies adorn the heavens above, and shooting stars unzip the black of space. But, Man stands unabashed in His starkness, for cosmic beauty can't compete with love, an emotion intrinsic to His race.

Under the Stars - the Compound Word Verse

Under the Stars

The cobalt sky has many eyes;
they're brightest just before sunrise
as starlight.

Sprinkled amidst the indigo
we stop to let the sandman sow
his stardust.

Glittering `cross the peaceful night
we view a shooting star take flight;
we're starstruck.

The sky becomes a starlit show
as sea reflects its silver glow,
so starbright.

In awe we kiss and say goodnight.
I watch as you walk from my sight,
soft . . . starlit.

Moment In Time

A moment in time, frozen in my mind Vision of beauty, an angel in my eye Sunshine sparkling down Brightening up my cloudy days Life was on the downturn spiraling lost... out of control Nights of loneliness. days of false smiles A few choice words, consoling my cries Those killer smiles you gave Those deep caramelized eyes, giving solace to my broken heart Taking my hand, you lead me from the deep, into the light. Upon the next shooting star To you, I devote my heart.

Just a Kiss

Once again the sun fades into the distant sky I gaze up at the stars to imagine the twinkle in your eye Though a sunset for me, is a sunrise for you It's at this time each day my heart is feeling blue Together are hearts are one, yet half a world apart I know that shooting star is filled with love from within your heart With a full moon slowly rising overhead into the nights sky May it be a sunrise of beauty for you, as it kisses the morning sky

Oh Luna

Oh Luna

Oh Luna, I am watching you
     rise in eastern skies.
Your fullness fills my heart
     with romantic thoughts
As I serenely bathe in your
     charming reflective glow,
I know there are lovers every-
     where gazing in awe
Of your exquisite enchanting
    allure causing hearts
To beat with a thrilling rhythm
     of inner love songs
That captivate the heart and
     soul, imbibing imagery
Of silent shadows and distant
     stars that drape your
Indigo sky in shimmering star-
     light from light years
Passed, and as shooting stars
     brighten night skies,
They are reflected as you are
     in lover's longing eyes.

Surrendered Dreaming

I knew you long before
    pursuit's intention shone,
felt you in sun's fiery warmth
       & shooting star surrender,
heard your voice on soft
  burbled whispers of sweet zephyrs
    and nectar'd songs of hummingbirds,
saw your depths of magnificence
        in sapphire ocean tides
     cresting 'neath effulgent moons
savoring breaths of crystalline
   snowflakes on crisp sea air,
I knew strength in your convictions
for it braved every fantasy's illusion
     acquiesced 'tween dulcet desires,
whilst the strong presence of your charms
     envelop'd every night's dreaming

Dare a Heart

To meet a woman such as you,
should've been shooting stars.
So it was in days of old..
let it be so again.

To feel your touch, hold your hand..
should've been Sonnets.
Endless flowing words,
sprouting forth a lover's pen.

Hard to resist when you say come hither,
you know I always would.
Melted long past the days of summer,
little heart mine, that dared it could.

Countenance hidden deep in soft eyes,
I long to find the meaning.
Strong-willed flavors of love, all mine..
leave bare my heart and soul entreating.

Covenant of Love

he looks at her eyes
butterflies surf dreams within
strolling twilight beach

shooting stars make wish
Prince wakes up serene Snow White
something melts the night

stream of passion flows
non stop chimes of Cupid choir
crystallizing breath

backdrop of embrace
pearl in heart of oyster blooms
covenant of love

Silver Whispers

One night I saw a shooting star
flashing golden memories
wishing for someone beautiful
just like you babe

Dazzling dreams each night
silver trailing thoughts faraway
looking at the moon face
over and back howling echoes
a soulful plea cries

On this cold winters night
your love is the warmth one needs
deep inside that breathes out
free wild as the breeze blowing
Winds in a thousand whistles speak

Utopia's everything whispers your beauty
one in a million star silently blinks
I have fallen under spells
casting on magic fell in your dust
sailing without wings loving you

A Love Built On Trust

A love built on trust

Our love flutters on calypso breezes,
cruising on the tropic of Capricorn
All of our anxieties it eases,
as mango sun wakes us this August morn

Passionate dew glistens on sun kissed skin
as we gaze at skies of peaches and cream
your essence incites desires within
We're enamored in this tropical dream

This is no cruise ship infatuation
We confess and reveal history's scars
tethered together in hearts migration
Promising love, under the moon and stars

Shooting stars ricochet through cosmic dust
Heavenly signs that our love's built on trust

Halley

Oh shooting star!

Burnt out bright across a sky
thier wonder in your light
a frozen trail of tears you leave behind

Their laughter at your sparks
I have felt your ash
You roam lost within the dark
I run to where you've crashed

I've ran so fast so far to where you are
Oh fickle little shooting star

And

Oh shooting star!

Burnt out lost within a sky
They all cheer
They cannot see you wave goodbye

Oh shooting star!

I sigh despite their smiles
for the further you have flown
I know the faster you will die

So fly

fly away shooting star

The End

Constantly looking for salvation that does not exist.

Living a dream, living a lie.

All alone among a deaf crowd
that suffers from insomnia.

As one of the most famous ghosts once said,
“Find what you love and let it kill you”

The saddest, most painful death.

The sky is getting darker.
Another shooting star has faded.

You know, they do not grand wishes.
They run away from greedy, coldblooded demons
sucking out their minds.

While the majority keeps being blind and silent
Neverland misses your light…

Free As a Bird

Breathing wind
across ocean currents
Waves of a sea murmur
under tides turn over emotions awakening
Satin white washed surf

Beholding
upon the rocks
Beloved apex
a sunbeams brilliance

Wetly kissed
under a rainbow arch
Throwing light
of the moon spotlighting
dancing with the shadows

Crouching where the sun rests
Twilight fires burn amber
within clouds shooting gunbarrel grey

My Father In Me

************************************************************************************

Twas hard to remember exactly the last shooting star which I have seen

Thus I seized the moment to make a wish upon a dream; asking for the only gift

That truly matters unto me; for amid all these things beautiful, love is the key ~

Circles

White hot stars twinkling bright, in a black ink sky spreading night while pink clouds in heavenly space spread love from those who are circling above. Waves of green glowing, mysterious and beautiful through the night in circles of delight with blue moon circling round as we gaze upward at the profound. Fading in and fading out, the warmth of the sun’s fire encircles and feeds our desire. Floating, sailing, shooting, through space We live eternally together in a circular place. Be My Stars

Be my star,
the twinkle in my life
the little light to my darkness
the diamond in my sky

Be my shooting star,
take my wishes and soar with them
take my dreams and aspirations and keep them
take my heart and hold on to it

Be my star,
the shining in my life
the bright smile on a dark night
the hope in my day that turn to nights

Be my shooting star,
take my joy and save it for me
take my love and preserve it
take my life and be apart of it

Be my star,
the remaining of warmth and a clod night
the hope that day will never come, because of fairs of losing you
the reasons for my existence

Be my star, My shooting star!!!!

To Be Young Again

To be young again,
with flowing, natural
chestnut brown hair,
to feel the walk of spring
without ache and pain,
to have the heart flutter
when dreaming about a
current love,
to be able to eat sweets
and not worry about weight gain,
to look forward to each day
with the idealism of youth
to be in tune with the moon,
sun and heavens,
to catch fire flies in Mason jars,
to make a wish at rainbow's sight,
to see shooting stars and
feel excitement,
to dance fast dances without
losing breath,
to stay up all night and talk
about girlish things,
ah, to be young again...

Torment of a Blood Moon

alone ‘neath the full moon
my heart once bright with hope, now dimmed
how I wished you were here with me

as the moon bled with my heart
shadows of past love traversed the orb
ruby halo I longed to share with you

watching as a shadow slid across the moon
shooting star left its contrail in ebony sky
smiling, I saw your heart in the scarlet moon

where are you now, my love
     magic moments we once shared
my spirits sank - torment of a blood moon

Stained Glass Dream

It saddens me to gaze upon the stars
I see them blinking, fighting back their tears
Reminding me our distance is so far
Their numbers are the days without you near

Assembling pieces of my scattered thoughts
An image comes to me in stained glass scenes
Subconsciously I gather shards embossed
Create a picture of you here with me

Then suddenly a sign from fate appears
A shooting star takes flight across the sky
I close my eyes and wish that you were here
To stay with me and never say goodbye

I think about the happiness love brings
Then go inside to dream my stained glass dream

Letting Go

Letting you go was never easy
Exhausted friends trying to please me
Toes freezing as I wander around
Trembling body hits the ground
Instincts whispering, “Go home”
Neglecting thoughts to be alone
Green eyed memories give me sorrow

Goodbye for now until tomorrow
Only time is left to borrow

I saw you sleep for the first time in years
At the side of your crying mother
That night I drowned myself in beers
Begging, take me and not my lover

Living life for you
Fell in love with shooting stars
Souls will meet again

Love's Limpid Pools

Together, we'd swim the depths of our souls, splashing and playing in love's limpid pools. And we'd adopt each other's hopes and goals, love-struck teenagers and romantic fools. Holding hands, we'd stare at the stars all night, stealing kisses when no one was around. And we'd ogle the sky until first light, watching shooting stars fizzle earthward bound. And we felt we were both blessed somehow, confident our love would last forever. But it didn't; that was then, this is now, and we no longer believe in never. Living is a time capsule in itself, where childish dreams collect dust on a shelf.

Cupid

Out of hate, love and beauty,

the eternal triangle,

came Cupid and his arrow,

victim of himself.

    ~//~ ~//~

Psyche, the daughter of the
king and queen of Sicily,
boasted that she was the most
beautiful woman on the island.
Inflamed, Aphrodite sent eros
to shoot her with an arrow of
desire, which would make her
fall in love with the next man
she met. Eros fell into his
own trap, for upon shooting
her, fell in love with her him
self. Taking her to a secret
place and marrying her. She
was later made a goddess by
Jupiter and Eros (cupid) was
immortalized.

But fearing to tell her outright
Enlisted friend Eros to capture her heart.

Refugees Matter

Hopes of happiness,
Laughter,
Turn into darkness and fear.
Screaming,
Shouting,
A spray of despair.
Tugged in my heart,
Ripping out my hair.
Nowhere to turn,
Nowhere to hide,
So much is going on,
Looking around,
Eyes filled with horror,
My country is falling apart,
Guns shooting,
Rebellious,
Tears of sadness,
Dropping down my cheek.
Gone are the dreams,
The hopes of joy,
Because of this war.
This war,
This destruction,
This tragic fate.
Where is the love,
The kindness,
The care,
For refugees?
