Taking the risk,
Baring the soul,
Seeking the wisdom
That shall make us whole.

Raising the arms,
Spreading the wings,
Hearing the music
That deep in us sings.

Stepping the dance,
Chanting the song,
Feeling the sisterhood
Tender and strong.

Sharing the love,
Speaking the name,
Calling the blessing
And lighting the flame.

A Lovers Kiss

A wordless song drifts from your eyes
with rhyme disguised in poems lost
from heavens smile your heart replies
assuming risk, no fear the cost

You dare not weep to dampen dreams
but pledge to take this hand of chance
no less from love this passion streams
in turn of fate not circumstance

Left breathless from a lovers kiss
this treasure found its place in time
a pleasure true, no more than this
     not once rehearsed in pantomime

Within each heart pure beauty lives
When fancies flight is there to give

The Rose

Once bloomed a rose so young and fair
With dark brown eyes and long black hair

Beside her be a tall dark tree
Whose branches stretch to smother thee

Too close beside the shadowy bark
That soon begins to leave its mark

She cries for help, but none shall hear
Her thorns too sharp, who’d dare go near?

To save this rose, who’d risk their life?
With naught to gain but pain and strife

Alone, afraid, she lays to rest
Her heart beats low inside her chest

And with the hour growing near
She sheds her final grieving tear

And so the rose soon falls asunder
Her final day, eternal slumber

She lies beside the old dark tree
The only one who mourns for thee

Love Is Blind

Our fellow travelers,
What measure of trust for them?
The moment's imperfections are easily, even instinctively overlooked -
We risk for their benefit, sacrifice for their good.

Minutes stretched, the holy person spoke to all comers
As I heard love's woman,
Hanging on the pierced and tattooed man.
What did she see, he was fractional to me;
Her freely-given look demanded no return,
Love's area of the mind spreading over others.
Was it that he'd only hit her once?

The sightless mother's fingers over the face of her child
Tenderly traced that juncture of skin and hour,
Acquiring an instant in time.

Moving On

When I confront my loneliness
And look it in the eye
My independence seems like
Such a waste of time

My joys and my sorrows
Are shared by only me
And I question the purpose
Of my struggle to be free

I'm not sure I've defined
The web that's been protecting me
There's just something about
All those fears that are affecting me

Now here I stand
The cold wind around me
Stripped to my soul
No walls to surround me

Thrown caution to the wind?
No, not really, not quite
Still gathering courage
As well I might

To risk and be vulnerable
To whatever's waiting to start
To allow hope once again
To rest gently in my heart

Where's my baby?
Bring my baby!
She knew something was wrong
Who did she think she was
To risk having a child at forty-six?
The new love demanded it though
And she had prayed it would be all right
But it wasn't.
That exotic little face
Those almond eyes
The old doctor said put it away
It will never grow, it will never know you
It will be a vegetable.
Leave it where it will get the care it needs...
The care he needs?
I will care for him, he is my son.
I will love him and be proud of his accomplishments.
And he grew, and he loved
And accomplished much
His greatest feat being that of bringing
A family together together
Teaching them how to love
And to be proud of him.

Where Is My Love

I trudge alone through yet another day.
Invisible folks pass me by.
Only I know how much I long for you.
I wait alone for joy to fill my lonely soul.
When I can share some sort of love
With the woman who should return love to me?

I reach out even to infinity but find only cold winter.
I yearn for luxuriant spring but it seems far away.
Enticing dreams come. Grotesque dreams go.
There are endless murky miles between us
Yet it will not deter my frisky flight.

I soar into any pleasant vacuum,
I'll risk my very sterile life.
And when finally I'll find you
I'll caress your soft smooth cheeks.
We'll be immersed in our happiness
And celebrate our new found felicity.

Decoy

Words are just a decoy
An excuse to dance around the truth
Underestimated silence
Proves language is uncouth

Your gut will always tell you
What your heart tries to ignore
Most try their best to silence it
Stirring an internal war

Why deny yourself of happiness?
Why pretend logic is correct?
Why hide behind a curtain?
Why pretend our hearts select?

Ignorance is truly bliss
Too bad that's not our case
Lets take a risk and show our courage
Let our souls meet face to face.

Dare

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental
To reach for another is to risk involvement
To expose your feelings is to risk exposing your true self
To place your ideas your dreams before a crowd
Is to risk their loss
To love is to risk being loved in return
To believe is to risk despair
To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard
Of life is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing,do nothing, have nothing, are nothing.
They may avoid sorrow and suffering
But they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love and live.

Heart's Wings

Why chance
to open one’s heart
at the risk of loss
of invested feelings?

Guarded hearts
do not get wounded
but neither do they soar
like eagles on the wind

To risk is to gain
or sometime lose
but less loss than
never having wings

Unwanted Things

Unwanted Things.

A car wreck.
A kid, unexpected.
An absent father to be.

A cheater that brought you,
a sudden health risk.
A divorce.

Car troubles.
Work issues.
Financial burdens.
Bad health,
that effects you,
and…
or…
those you love.

These are a few,
of my un-favorite
things.
There is no song,
about these,
by Julie…
although I read her story,
and she
had a hard life
too.

Dreams

We succumb to temptation
And bathe in its juices
We challenge the mighty tyrant
And stand victorious
We dare to risk everything
Yet we gain even more
We fall in love as children do
However, we refuse to let go
The possibilities are unthinkable
Yet we fear nothing
The nonsense tortures and humbles us
And we come back for more
There we find Comfort and safety
And never want to leave
And then we awaken to realize
It's only in our dreams

My Bad

i hope you could make up your mind
weather im worth the risk
or maybe youre not that kind
i keep getting lost
but still ive been trying to find
why youre struggling with telling me the truth
god i was so blind
to believe that such a person like you
could be able to bind
im sorry

Love Is Vain

Some will say, that I must be vain
To express in poems, such heartfelt pain
Of loves gone wrong, and broken hearts
Yet these words, so sad and blue
In each of us, we know are true
For all of us have loved and lost
And asked ourselves, is it worth the cost
To find true love and risk that pain
If I say yes, does that make me vain?

Troubadour

Expose faster
your songs from limbo
of your soul and exposes
your bosom...!
Do it list and with tenderness...
May you sing them beautifully
and grace...!
cast them accurately
on your beloved balcony,
at the counter of your intended...
Do it with maximum promptness
and grace, because you're at risk
that she listens to the songs
of love from another
further agile troubadour... and
  be enchanted...!

Scarring Words

Words
The things they do
The fights they cause
The hate they create
And the love they spread
For good or bad
For right or wrong
For the right and the good
Is where words belong

Some words may cut like a knife
And leave a bleeding wound
That will forever be scarred
Other words may heal
Build another up
And change the way you feel

The wrong words you say
Is a risk you take
To leave a scar
The words you let slip
Should always be kind
And should always be defined
As loving, caring, and good

Never leave a scar from the words you say
Because the scar you’ve caused
Will ALWAYS come back to cut you

Tune of Tears

In passing, hearts risk their very essence, their colors, their breathe,
Love who touched the soul, then moved on, toward heaven’s hungry light,
Souls soon reflect the love and peace found when passing into God’s light

Doom And Gloom

Priests of Doom and Gloom:
Fear, the seat of their feigned
power. We, meaning them, know
best: follow us and be saved
or risk eternal pain and suffering~
being forever graved! Yet some, as
I, choose the worship of one word,
Love! Avoiding Dogmatic Mercenaries,
Faux stand-ins, for the one, true,
God, all merciful, unlike the Above.

Are You Saved?

At the end of each moment,
Lies a seed – sometimes an echo,
Stirring the depths of yearning,
Breathless as prayers, burning.

At the end of each nighttime,
Lies a weed – sometimes a thought,
Reflecting the music, the hues
Peaceful mysteries, enchanting stillness.

At the end of each risk,
Lies a deed – sometimes a dream,
Whispering of life, silent and meaningful,
Despairing of the star strewn skies.

Beyond the moments, the nights, the risks,
Abides a wisdom, reassuring and flavored in kisses,
Abundant as the gentling of a tenderness,
Brought to life by the urgency of God’s grace,
His life, breathless as praise, poured out so the world,
Can be saved…

Toxic Love

I sit in your webb of destruction waiting
waiting for the bite that will be suffocating
turning my love into death
as the spider takes his last dying breath,

Toxic love, the only love I know
smack in the fsce was the way I was shown
Go to your room and disappear
stop that crying right this moment did you not here?

As I sit in this webb of toxic loneliness
I make my final dying wish
to take this one risk
and let someone know i did exist.
