Make Love To Me

Look at me like you'll never see me again
let your eyes drink me in like the sweetest of wines
(look through me)

(Can you see my soul?)

Kiss me, sweet and innocent like your first
thrilling like prom night
(let me taste your love for me)

Caress me with sure and convident hands
slide your fingers over my skin
Nerve endings fire... isn't science sweet?
(You make me shiver)

Combined the three as two become one
Pulses rise, tempetures
C
L
I
M
B

Enter my world baby
(Over and over again)
Bring me closer to heaven with each stroke
We can explore it together.

Oh
 my
 God...
Love Is BEAUTIFUL

Come With Me

Come with me, I'll take you to the prom.
You're my heart throb as everyone knows.
Come with me, we'll play through the night,
And I'll be sure to twinkle your toes.

The girls will look fancy to the max.
They'll all be wearing fabrics of green.
Come with me, oh Adonis himself.
You'll be the hottest guy on the scene.

I'll twinkle your toes, I'll sing to your songs,
And laugh at the love prompts you say,
Come with me, oh darling, please come.
Youth waits at the dance to run free.

An Old Sewing Box

In the corner of a dark closet
Lives an old, old sewing box,
Scratched and painted blue on wicker,
With flowers on its top.

It silently holds a lifetime,
Of buttons, thread, hooks and metal snaps,
A few colored ribbons, needles, and
Half inch elastic that also snaps.

Little pearls from a baby's batiste,
Bias binding from a bib, an unused pocket,
Folded left bits of printed calico,
Rolled lace from a prom dress formal.

Remembrance of a date, school skirt, a dance,
A child learning how to sew,
A very creative mother’s love,
An old sewing box of a long time ago.

My Perfect 10

If I picked my Valentine
she'd be a perfect 10.
She'd have blonde hair with highlites
and answer where and when.

She'd be a little shorter,
yet tall enough to kiss.
Her reach a little longer
to torture us in bliss.

Her shape would be the bomb.
As sexy as they come.
With hair up for the moment
I'd meet her at the prom.

She'd talk a little faster
with words I'd say are smart.
Yet keep me to attention
in hugs up to my heart.

A smile just like a lion.
Her face a source of pride.
One to show my mother.
And then to make my bride.

My Valentine was perfect
as I lost her way back then.
How was I to know that she
would find her perfect 10.

A Seaside Town

Bright coloured chalets, (very dear !)
Stand close in military line,
Along the prom, beyond the pier
“NO CYCLING”, please, observe the sign.
The waves roll in with thunderous roar
To dash the pebbles on the shore.

Incongruous lighthouse in the town
Looks out above Edwardian tiles,
Across Sole Bay and looking down
Shines out for more than twenty miles.
The pride of Suffolk, on the coast,
For many not an idle boast.

Victorian sleepy seaside town,
That’s Southwold, home of Adnam’s beer.
I stroll the prom, first up, then down,
Sip coffee on the antique pier.
I love its charms and golden sands,

Flipping the Wig

The girl had her groove on she
laughed a lot and was hip and
not too heavy going. At seventeen
I needed an old lady to go to the
prom with. Not wanting to wipe
out on my first try I caught the
groove, Taking my time, this chick
was bitchen from top to bottom,
But I had a gnarly set of nerves
because I woke up with a zit on my
nose, what a bummer. I didn't want
her to think I had cooties so I waited.
The time came to ask her. Well, after
all this feeling like a dork, she said
yes she would love to go.
Wow what a gas, I flipped out.

Zip Your Zipper

Don't forget to zip your zipper.
Said thee old whipper snapper.
Life's too short, so be a good sport.
While we head to a resort.
After the high school prom tonight.

We can make whoopee, under a pine tree.
After I take you by the hand.
Then we'll see buckets of golden nuggets,
flowers and daffodils.
The we'll see puppets, all playing their trumpets,
very load and strong from the band.

So don't forget to zip your zipper.
Said thee old whipper snapper.
Life's too short, so give me all your support.
Before we head to a resort.
And before, we make love in the ocean sand..

Slow Dance

“Dance with me” he says.
She takes his hand
And follows him
To the middle of the dance floor.
He brings her closer to him,
Her arms wrap around his neck,
His hands upon her waist.
She lays her head on his shoulder
And sighs a small sigh of contentment.
As she inhales she smells his cologne,
And smiles; he smells so good.
They hold each other
And twirl in circles while the song plays
And when the song ends,
She longs for more.

*Please note:*
This poem is different from my poem The Dance. This poem was written about me and my
boyfriend at prom, while the other was based off of the 1980s movie Dirty Dancing.

My Dad Is In Heaven

It was November 04, when daddy closed his eyes
I was so confused i just couldnt figure out why
You promise you would be there for prom and graduation
But that was four years before the celebration
I know you are in a better place having fun
Just dont forget about your two girls and son
I love you daddy for ever
I wouldnt trade you never
I often sit and think about if you were here
How much fun would we all share
But our heavenly farther knows best
An he have something better for you and the rest
Coming from your baby girl
I love you dad my favorite man in the world

Prom

You are extremely beautiful
Your smile your laugh and the way you carry yourself
I haven't known you long, and may never see you again
But as of now you keep my heart beating

I want to dance with you, that night at prom
See you happy all night long
Cuddled up, dancing side by side
Impressing others, suited up in white

I'm in love with your eyes, a deep stormy gray
And with you I'd like to spend these last few days
Sweet beautiful lady i want to make you mine
And i need to now, i don't have much time

Lets be together, at least for the rest of this year
It would ease the pain, to have you close and near
Bear with me, you amaze me so
And i want you close to me, until its time for me to go

Senior Year Nightmare

Drooping decorations
and graduation mayhem turned to
tears and depression after
fight with high school steady.
The memory of prom date from hell
will hopefully disappear.
The elaborate hairdo was
furiously brushed out,
and the uncomfortable formal
packed away in the attic to be
given to charity next year.
The sweet whispers of love and
the notes passed in study hall
behind the back of old Mrs. Jenkins,
the talk of a wedding the following summer,
became heartbreaking memories
when Tiffany Blake came to town.

Grandma's Artwork

Grandma's quilt
     Hand-stitched memory patches
     Not one piece another matches

Artful legacy
     Sews family ties together
     Crafted by hands now weathered

Captured moments
     Prom dresses that ever dance
Within love the flowed from grandma's hands

Unique reminders
     Weddings, first dates, recitals
     Embrace in grandma's revival

Adorned crib
      Quilt that covers a newborn
      With memories of ancestors gone

Letters To My Inner Self

Look in the mirror
Tell me- What do you see?
A young girl, barely a toddler?
A teenager on the night of her prom?
An mother....holding a young child?
An older woman...smiling at her husband after 50 happy years together?
Anything worth your while?
Anything your proud of?
Nothing at all?
Really....?
Look deep inside...under the skin.
Look in the mirror....
See your heart?
That's what you should have been looking at.
It's broken you say...now look over there.
A photograph....
You... your family.
Happy? Yes..
Then why so broken?
Come on pull yourself together....
Yes you may not know it now...but soon the young woman in that picture....no longer a
stranger...
But YOU!

Prom

She bought a fancy dress, painted her eyes and lips
Getting ready for a date she would not forget
The day spent getting ready, washed and curled her hair
At eight o’clock he picked her up all dressed up in tails

They ate a fancy dinner with friends and had some fun
A night that she would not forget, the night she fell in love
Her date was young and handsome, she knew him many years
Up until that special night they were the best of friends

She sees him in a different light, not just a foolish boy
But a nice young man to share her life for now and ever more
Amazing how life passed them by even though they were so young
The feelings felt that very night they went to senior prom

Picture At Prom

Exuberant; wild in love.
Naïve in hopeful Dreams
But oh so sweet did Passion flow.
Dreams floated from your palms
In glowing waves to flow
Across my curves.
We were proud and haughty in sexual confidence,
Gliding on the center of our own universe

'prom Girl'

I saw my dream girl,
Walking past the door!
I asked myself: Is this the one,
Are you damn sure?

My heart said it is,
But my brain said No!
Confused I decided,
To ask my elder bro!

He said: Follow your heart,
N not your big brain!
I’m sure your efforts,
Won’t go down the drain!

Prom’s round the corner,
So I had to act fast!
Or else I’d end up,
Like always in the past!

Today she’s with me,
Dancing on the floor!
She’s the same girl I saw,
Walking past the door!

Dedicated with love to: You Know Who

Total Collapse of the Heart

When once I sat and pondered the definition of heartbreak
I realized mine changed almost as quickly as I matured.
My toddler heart broke when Rover stole my ice cream.
My Kindergarten heart broke when Susie was cast as Cinderella.
In middle school it was whenever someone called me fat.
Home alone on prom night, chest a bonfire of pain;
That perfect job I didn’t get and heart broken again.
The thing is, the fuller the heart with love, hope
The greater the pain when broken, like two storm-fronts clashing.
So news my daughter had cancer broke heart, soul, spirit.

Prom

This memory is fleeting and seems so far away
But always it is with me to forever stay

My prince in the form of a geek dressed in black
Makes me smile at the thought of you every time I look back

The room filled rich with the tuning of the band
My joy I could not contain as I grasped your familiar hand

The rhythm of the music matched the beat of my heart
Your warmth so close, wishing to never be pulled apart

Now as I think and look to the stars above
That was the night we were truly in love

Poem To My Mother

Mom you was never their for me
I would cry out in the middle of the out
From having a night mare
But you was never there
You was never there when I need my hair done for prom
You never was their to tech me how to shave me legs
You was never there to brad my hair
I all ever wanted was you to be a mother to me
But I guess that was just to much too ask
Mom do you remember when you run your finger threw my hair
When you did that I knew that when you was going to leave again
You weather have men and drugs
Instead of being a mother to me and my brother
I always love you but you never loved me back
Happy Mothers Mom
I still love you Mom..

Why Did He Say That

Why did he say anything at all?
I really wish he hadn’t
I spent all year keeping him out
And now he has found his way in
Yeah, he’s cute, but I don’t want to deal with that
So I forced him out of my head
But then he said something
The Monday after prom
As he was unpacking his book bag in History class
“I liked the dress you wore.”
We barely speak
I don’t understand
How could I let this happen?
Let my mind wander to him
Two weeks before school ends
Why did he have to say that?
I really wish I knew
Because maybe if I did
I could get over you.

That Dress

I hate that dress, I loved it once.
I wore it for our first prom dance.
Ruby –red with sleeves of gold,
You on my arm, a dream to behold

My head said no but my heart said yes
I hate that dress. I loved it. Once,
when we first met and love was new.
I would have done anything, for you.

Then suddenly everything went wrong
You tried to change me, my life- my song.
I hate that dress I loved. I once again,
became, full of grief and pain.

Years on, I pack to start my new life
As my darling husband, Tonys’ wife
I find, to my distress. The very thing
I hate. That dress. I loved it once.

Your Life

The day you came into this world...
Your first steps, first words...
The day you went to school
and then you went to prom...

Countless dates, sleepless nights...
Day of your graduation...
Your first car,
then higher education...

Marriage... Kids... Good job...
Life is flying like a bird...
Everything is meaningless without God,
no matter how well you live or how bad...

Without God everything is useless...
One day, you'll stand before our God
It's your choice how you'll face Him tomorrow
As you heavenly Father or your Judge?...

Lost Fight

To the man who was never there
There are moments that can never be relived
Those are the moments that you’ll never remember
My first day of school, my first crush, my first date,
my first prom, and my high school graduation
All of these you’ve missed
And I will always remember that you did
Tears were happy and sad
The fact that I am always your daughter
But you have never taken the time to really be my dad
I’ve done everything but I cant anymore
I may be your daughter but
I wont fight for your time or you anymore
My tears are done, my anger finished
Soon I’ll be married and my last name changed
Its time that I relinquish and give up a long ago

Prom

Stuck between two girls on prom night
sometimes I just feel like I'm a shining knight
in the darkness there's no sight
between what is wrong and what is right.

I shall choose the one I love
the one who flies like a dove
in my heart and in my own little cove
stood I in the empty fiesta grove.
