In Forbearance

Where was I
when repo men invaded,
possessed,
boxed me up within his cool heart
fragrant in its distaste of warmer climates?
You know,
climates governed by love.
(Daydreaming of knights, that's where.)

Now I have only so much patience remaining
for this slapstick brain-
a nasty reminder, the heckler of my heart,
what spews sensibility
when I simply yearn to err.

And I scarcely have time to mourn
his devil's smile
leaving southward in moving vans
transporting my pieces
(all the valid ones)
with him
as I sit numbed,
next to climbing ivy poisoned by my disbelief,
broken
unpaid for.

A Zulu Warrior

Do you sometimes see a Zulu Warrior Staring back from the mirror in the morning! A nasty fierce looking bad tempered dude Obscenities flying out without warning Crabbing bout having to make a living But enjoying all the many accoutrements If it wasn't that, it'd be something else People just love to complain and vent A shower and shave, you're almost human Not one person will ever suspect That a member of the Zulu Warriors tribe Was a coworker of great respect Do you sometimes see a Zulu Warrior Staring back from the mirror in the morning! © Jack Ellison 2012

The Love of Roses

Perfect purple petals adorn this stunning rose Sweetly smelling scent drifts gently to my nose Nestling in my bouquet is this stunning flower Sheer perfection, I stare at it hour on hour The rose can hide a secret, a nasty pointed thorn It can hurt you deeply of this I must you warn The path of true love doesn’t always run smooth With patience and love these issues you’ll soothe A stunning red rose is a symbol of true love Their velvety petals sent from heaven above Be sure of your love when he does propose Cherish your love like this delicate rose Jan Allison 18~12~14 Written too late for contest:-(

Band-Aids For the Heart

the blood of love leaks out
through this punctured
saddened wound
bleeding hurt unspoken
cries for help unheard,
no surgeon could ever help
the shocking pain of but a word

how one so casually inflicts
such wounds upon those
they have once told
of their undying eternal love
held tight those two bodies
as she wanted so to hold

yeah, love can be quite nasty,
so disrespectful of your heart
and torture you forever
until from life, you should depart

A Headlight On My Deer

There is no right way...
there are only wrong
ways – there is no
Luke-warm love, for
love is not a portion
nor temperature...not
a two-step – but a toward
You Step. And we know love
when we see it...let it
happen~yes, free it!

Too often we flee it;
failures leave a lasting
mark – making us Leary
of future spark – once a
flame ignited, and then
smothered out, can leave
a nasty ash; better to make
the dash~yes, run. Before
the heart is barbecued~
overdone....

But no one has ever won
if not a wager on the board
of life – just ask my very
wise wife – who made a purse
out of a sow's ear...her headlight
on my deer.

I'M Me

I’m good
I’m free
I’m love
I’m me
I’m human
I hurt
I’m brown
With curves
I’m happy
I’m nasty
I’m crazy
I’m single
And ready to mingle
I’m spirit
I’m energy
I’m love
God is always with me
I smile
I get sad
I get mad
I hold a grudge every once in a while
Every day I smile
I’m pretty
I live in a big city
I work
I write
I’m a proud ex wife
Happy to say, I’ve moved on with my life
I work
Come home
I’m a mommy
Don’t have a problem being alone
I love me

My Pet Peeve

We all have our issues, that bug us to the core
For some a nasty habit, or the tapping on the door
Perhaps the way we dress, or our strangely colored hair
Or when we slurp our soda, or wiggle in our chair.

Strange how we irk each other, almost all the time
Seems it’s done on purpose, to watch each other whine
It gets so irritating, they finally have to leave
Then they frown and say. “You know it’s my pet peeve.”

So when I got a little pup, I choose a clever name
Not sure how or why, but to me the idea came
“Peeve” is his name, and he gives me so much love
And now ‘my’ Pet Peeve… is getting a warm hug.

I Personally Know a Monster

*Please note: This poem was written for MY brother this Christmas. He is twelve w/braces.
He annoys me twenty-four seven!
And sometimes I can’t even sleep!
Especially when he snores and claims
in the morning that he didn’t make a peep!

He is filthy, disgusting, and appalling!
Picking food out of his mouth after meals!
Often I think he is crazy!
I mean c’mon... he doesn’t even walk on his heels!

But no matter how strange he is,
Nasty and smelling like scat,
I've got to put up with his vexation
because he’s my brother and I kinda have to love him for that.

The Kiss

In the first grade, as well as I can now recall,
I took my lovely little Bonnie by the hand
[Held it in a firm clasp, she uttered a quick gasp]
And planted a big kiss on her cheek in the hall
Regrettably a teacher saw this sweet gesture
And, an old maid, she was not so impressed at all
Clucking her tongue, then displaying a nasty frown,
In comfortable shoes standing up very tall
Blabbed to teachers what she saw all over the land
[She uttered a quick gasp, held it in a firm clasp]
Ever thereafter this young lover took the fall.

Keeping It Real

Rent one to own
Feel like a conquering hero
The most life-like robotic woman
The "Caesar-Says-5-point-zero"
With all the right curves
To make your mouth water
Graduate from the virtual
Don't live in a monitor

You are so smart, David
And also you're so handsome
I can dance like Britney Spears
Or quote books by the volume
Do you want to make love?
Or perhaps just get nasty?
I won't ask any questions
If you want to get a little crazy

But my eyes glaze over
This wasn't such a deal
I return it to the factory
Because I need to keep it real
So I get into perfect shape
**** my head with a robotic trace
Then infiltrate 'real women'
With a non-synthetic face

Oh Rain

Oh Rain!

When land is dry and so is the sky,
When possibility of water is only in eye;

When trees turn yellow and cattle are thirsty,
When dependable God behaves little nasty;

When farms are burnt in the sun fire,
When our kid's beds turn into pyre;

When hope is lost and faith is shaken,
Don't you think it's time to awaken!

Oh Rain!

We know our mistakes; We know what we did,
Forgive us once; we'd correct our deed;

Late though, we've realized your worth,
Pour your love and bring back the mirth,
Let heaven appear once again on earth!!

Oh, Unhappy Day

As trim as can be, I have been,
though love of rich cake is my sin,
with lots of whipped cream
and pudding between!
But still, I was healthy and thin.

This week came the shocking report;
a verdict from medical 'court'...
pre-diabetic...
now that's pathetic!
All signs of this surely fell short!

That nasty invader in cake,
'sir sugar' did catch up and take
my sweet joy away!
Oh, unhappy day...
forgetting cake now for health's sake!

One Last Hit

Purging, surging, my body heaves
Flaying, slaying imaginary dragons
Swarming beasties inside my pores
Those nasty little invaders,
Those horrid thieves
Have infested my frail body
The one my nemesis abhors

Lurking, smirking the dark one hovers
Smiling, beguiling he offers up angels
Soothing hungry desperation
Those soft enticing creatures
Those sweet lovers
Are surging through my aching veins
Offering me brief salvation

Quivering, shivering I emerge
Bleeding, pleading for just a little more
Cravenness creatures howling echoes
The whimpering of my soul
The final dirge
My spirit joins that of angels
I leave my body to the crows

Should I

should i stop loving you,
because of your thick eyebrows?
or should i stop loving you,
because of your tiny nose?

should i stop loving you,
because of you broad waist?
or should i stop loving you,
because of your ugly face?

should i stop loving you,
because of your nasty handwriting?
or should i stop loving you,
because at bed you're snoring?

should i stop loving you,
because of your weird habits?
or should i stop loving you,
because of your misaligned teeth

should i stop loving you,
because they tell me to do so?
or should i start ignoring this,
because I LOVE YOU

Message To a Pharmaceuticals King

You’re such a nasty bugger,
You slumming, scheming lout,
No conscience or misgiving,
No arguing about!

And when next time I see you,
Sucking on the poor, I’ll give to
You no quarter, you shameless
Writhing whore.

To you people are just profits,
You stinking rotten rat,
I’d love to squash your laurels
With my old ash cricket bat!

Drugs are for the sick, not
For pockets to be lined,
To be in this type of business,
You really must be kind

So take your profit margins
And income streams and like,
And point yourself at nearest cliff
While tied on to your bike

HURRAH!

Nasty Love

What love is this?
This is such a nasty love

I smile to you
You made me laugh at myself

Laughter are getting so loud
Feeling so low and ashamed

Lost my confidence , lost my own
All because of something called love

If you don't care for me
That's not love

If you don't think of me
That's not love

Just when you sleep with me
You pretend it's love

I refuse staying with you
I reject your love

I don't want you
I don't want your nasty love

The Pleasure of Yer Company

Come in, come in and sit ye doon
a warm spot by the fire's for ye
the kettle's on and 'bout to sing
a cuppa's brewing soon for two

Come in, come in and sit ye doon
there's so much that you need te hear
I kenna keep it to me self
such sorrow needs a friendly ear

Come in, come and sit ye doon
I've such a sorry tale to share,
the world's a hard and nasty place
me fate's unkind and life's unfair

Come in, come in and sit ye doon
ye ken, I'd love your company
there's nay so treasured as a friend
for poor, wee me, Miss Misery

Two-Faced

The rotten apple in the cart,
And lowest of the low,
A waste of space, a waste of time,
And not a joy to know,
A heartless witch, a nasty troll,
A trouble-making shrew,
The creature from the Black Lagoon,
And pile of doggy do,
A hateful, wicked bag of slime,
A monster hated for all time.

The mould was broken at her birth,
This angel, dear and sweet,
This blossom, delicate and fair,
Refined from head to feet,
This paragon of virtue glows,
A pearl before the swine,
A perfect rose amongst the thorns,
Champagne compared with wine,
A treasure trove, a swan, a dove,
And saintly lady filled with love.

Because of Who I Am

Drastically insignificant is how I feel
Not liked because of who I am
Not for being mean or nasty
But because this is who I am
I always press my luck and let a person get to know me for who I am
I must be undesirable for so many acquaintances to go cold and dry
But my dog loves me and I love him
Numbness has overcome me however I choose to write
I choose to keep a stable mind and not fold under pressure
You are my people!
We are each other!
Yet I am of no significance to you
I do sincerely care for you
A world free of friction and filled with generosity is what I dream of
Not trying to fuss –
Just venting

Subliminal Revenge

The pain that used to be my thorns
Red roses were born
Love torned
The nasty scars weren’t healed
But my broken self, I’ve rebuilt

I have been walking over an endless dessert
My hunger for water, became lesser.
I can’t be better
The silent screams that turned me owl
The faceless soul detached, I’ve stood up devoured.

The odes of elegy I used to write for you
Turn the page for a haiku of optimism and fate
This is my current state
Your empty feelings, burned bridges for me
Now, can’t you see?

My pain, my grief
Your freedom, your new leaf
Turn the wheels
You are now crawling for stilts
Allow me to rejoice your karma
While you lurk in guilt and I get to wear the tiara.

Heart of Glass

My love is so pure ...My heart is made off glass..
Everyday you see through .. My heart off glass..
Every crack you see .. In my heart off glass..
Still you chip away... At my heart of glass..
With all your nasty words.. You crack it some more.
My heart off glass.

Every day i cover up and hide ,My heart off glass
Yet you still see through .. My heart off glass..
You've broke it so many times .. Its just fell apart

Pieces lost here and everywhere .. Gone for ever more
Now you've broke .. My heart off glass..
Still you come back .. For even more
Off my heart off glass.

Moving Forward

Lasting memories linger lightly,
Swarming in a sensitive soul;
Weaving waves of wishes,
Taking a terrible toll.

Nasty nightly nervousness,
Results in ranting rhymes;
Harvesting of high hopes,
And savoring sensual signs.

Conspiring cosmic circles,
Whisper winter warnings.
Briefly believing blasphemy,
Fights feelings forming.

Insecurity injects inspiration,
Rotting the ropes of revelation,
Killing the chance of consolation,
Providing the pride in proclamation.

Empty enriched envy.
Loose longing lust.
Love lasts a lifetime.
Try total trust.

Walk softly Ode to my walking stick

Loyal companion carved from a sturdy oak.
This eternal gratitude will never be revoked.
You've been there for me more then
some human folk.
I think I may be in love with you and that is no joke.
Please stay by my side until the day I croak,
if perchance we come upon a very nasty bloke,
I will turn you upside down and give him a poke!
