Night Dreams

The forest music plays
A haunting tune,
Vibrating softly
All around the countryside.
The fragrance of the spruce
Exuding joy,
Combine with the scent
Of the mighty magnolia
Now in full bloom.

Darkness falls.
We trudge a path
Towards a lake.
The peach-hued moon shines brightly.
Peace reigns.
We shelter in a hostel.
Besides a window.
The glitter of the moon
Shines across the placid waters.
All is calm.
A room is available.
What better way to spend the night?

Imagery

Love comes early in the morning
we watch the sun rise
a light yellow yolk
walking with red legs across the sky...
Hurrying from her car
we are just two lovers
locking hands in excitement
walking upon flower deep fields...
Her dress indigo with a sunflower
an art nouveau flower
song birds in the Magnolia
an ocean breeze fills our sails...
We had been up all night
waiting for the moon
to kiss the morning star
and the sun to rise like an Emperor..
Morning sky fills with saffron
orange, crimson with the blaze of Venus
reminding us of the absolute and the infinite
and the exaltation of new love..

A Southern Secret

Down south, Magnolia trees are everywhere
Broad shiny leaves adorn this evergreen
Each spring sweet blossoms permeate the air
Their smell and beauty add to any scene

Their flowers are as large as dinner plates
Red violet base that fades to pink then white
So soft to touch it quickens all heart rates
It's smell so sweet it makes the head feel light

And then there is the secret of the south
For me, I know it is my fav'rite part
A southern belle will kiss and make you shout
Because the scent inflames a lover's heart

If you want someone you love to propose
Bring them down south where Sweet Magnolia grows

Starry Skies

perfumed aromatics of roses and magnolia
drift along midsummer evening breezes

enchanted moonlight behind the garden gate
when together there you and I sit complicit

Love of Nature

Under canopy of majestic oaks,
leaves swaying, gentle breeze,
rustling of the dancing leaves,
flying chirps, all species,
joyous laughter, melodic sounds,
like violins, bees abound,
peace surrounds
in backyard paradise.

As I partake of nature’s scene,
eyes affix whites, magnolia high,
reminisce of mother in the sky.
Lessons of nature, she did give,
exploration through wooded path,
wild flowers we did name,
birds’ identity, toadstools find,
love of nature by her design.

Winter Sky Poem

I will write for her clouds of color
Ellipses, reddened
to temper this cold!

I will write for her words of purple cirrus
and pink, dawns
we will walk in golden sunsets.

Behold yellow morning star
the heavenly peach
caught between Magnolia branches..

I will write the rain, the flame
and this poem for her!

Sad Poem

I remember her hair
long black and beautiful
dark yet with golden light
in the length of it.

So lovely, liquid and glorious
the luxurious smell of her hair
scented with springtime
jasmine and magnolia.

It has been weeks now
renewed visions of pleasure
what I write is true
I knew the sweet splendor of love.

Calm as a second summer
tonight I see a star
why is it now that i see
just now.

I write for her this poem that begins
with I love you and ends with I love you
somewhere in the middle is a good by
for all the times I hurt her....

Magnolia Defends Herself

Like sweet cotton candy
are my flowers light pink
no one slips on them
nor do they stink

Schnookums, your cat
enjoys her window seat
eyeing birds in my arms
and I feel so complete

We go back many years
you've watched me grow
now I'm tall as the house
you love me -- I know

I beg you keep this in mind
(don't wish to cause hysteria)
but I noticed days were numbered
for the neighbor's chopped plumeria

So please don't cut me down
like next door's unblooming tree
Look at me! I'm in bloom! :-)
Pray, just let me be

Rendezvous

Down in New Orleans.
Back among the magnolia trees.
A rendezvous at midnight.
Under the golden moonlight.

We lay by the river in our lover's place.
You hold me in the darkness.
Me lost in your warm embrace.
Your kisses a sweet caress,

love should happen like this.
With only starlight to witness
your body in hot demand
as mine comes apart in your hands.

Love Is All Around

Southern breeze and honey bees calling
sweet magnolia carry me off your way
spilt scents blushed in waning afternoons
shimmers of boundless love are coming true

Coloured meadows and swaying sagebrush
moving slowly to a melody overcoming me
painted pretty roundabout mentoring skies
bringing streaks of sunshine shining through

Rolling hills of pleasure sit in warm complexion
viewing amber nods as heaven winks her eye
before long near dusk will consume her grandeur
and dreams of tomorrow will soon come floating by

The Bacchus Garden

Your tender body
is a fertile garden
where flowers bloom
beautiful and animated.

Sanctuary of desire
in their domain
pursuing eternal splendor
splashed in golden water..

Paradise under captive sky
scent of Magnolia in country
my hands touch in the instant
lips upon your lovely petals.

This morning in your garden
with you in sighing sanctuary
on our hands love expired
overgrown with Springtime flowers...

Feminine Beauty Flowering

Iris blue eyes that bright, azure beams strow
Lilly white neck with a radiant, translucent glow
Rosy cheeks blanching cotton swabs of milky snow
Viola black hair coiffed; silky strands strung in a tidy row
Magnolia-crescented bosom with a soft, silty furrow
Camellia-shaped paps that with sweet nectar flow
Butterfly Orchid legs; slender willows with tawny curves that billow
Anemone-cupped hands with graceful seams that her dignity doth sow

The Mason Jar

As this October moon is rising
I’m drifting in your cell
And mingling with each trinket.
I know you all to well.

I know your every coveted curve
And every secret shrine.
Your body is my temple.
I’m drinking in your wine.

I’m lingering on a sidewalk.
I’m humming out a tune.
I’m wanting you so openly
As day is peaking noon.

Come hither to my dim lit quarters
In metallic sugared pace.
Your skin tastes of magnolia
When pulling close your face.

Our basin days will whither
Now touching in a creek,
A combination cold clicked out
A slipping slithered leak.

Like filling up a mason jar
And stapled in a scry.
I’m needing you so openly.
My jar is sudden dry.

Opiate Dream

There is a thirst
of many days
restrained in our body,
chained words on lips of dreams...

I think of her
the smell of oak essence,
memories of magnolia,
the salty wind of the sea returns...

She says she will be here
in just a few days,
her presence floats for a moment,
I wrap my whole being anxiously!

At that moment of full sensation,
my hands are sunk in grapes,
and my body feels surrounded
by her loving arms...

Kudzu Love

My love for you
 Is like the kudzu,
 That surrounds us in this place;
Changing the landscape of my life
 Forever;
 It is Unyielding ,
 Unrelenting
 And cannot
 Be contained.

Sugar Blues

Your love is a candy
Sweet as peach
Better than tales and fables
A way better than Magnolia wine

Your love is but a candy
Sweet as milk
Better than an urban circus
It beats the hell out of my morning breath

But I always find myself
Beside the stairwell
Sprinkled with dirt
Crying
Spattering a few red drops
Waiting for one last breath

For your love is nothing
But could then be a candy
After a minute or two
Even in the speed of thought
It gently melts like an ice cream
Against my ruptured tongue
as any faithful sugar does

Remember Me When

Remember me when the lights
Dimensioned

Carry me gently in your heart

Let my remembrance be as the
Magnolia blossom

Fragrance pleasant sweet

Delicate

Archaic in the time of the
Olden descent

Let my remembrance be

As the white dove..

Let my love guide and last

Into eternity bliss

Remember me when the lights
Dimensioned

Carry me gently in your heart

As the white dove take flight

Into eternity bliss..

The Night Is Speaking Like a Cascade

The night is speaking like a cascade.
She’s knitting filigreed lights and shadows.
Sunk in the deep sea
of Sargasso eyes
I stay quiet and don’t find words.
And the scars on your hand
are fading, in order to burn
in my heart.
Oh, sailboats after a long trip
with all the winds in the sails –
sand is calling you.
But it isn’t death!
Oh, it isn’t the end too!
The hand
is going to knock up a hut for you
and in the wide garden
it smells with magnolia and manuscripts…

And I am a sign.

Love and Honor

Love and Honor
To the life of Barbara Price
by Franklin Price
01/21/2022

It was with love and honor
That we watched you leave this life
A daughter and a husband
Holding a mother and a wife

As we watched you take your last breath
Watching all your pain to cease
As God came by to lift you
We were overcome by peace

Though your life on earth has ended
Your sweet presence is still clear
You left this world a better place
For the years that you were here

In life you were God's gift to me
To everyone you ever met
Truly were a steel magnolia
That we never will forget

 Them Monday Morning blues songs
Them sho' nuff done me wrong songs
Them stayed out all night long songs
 Them moaning, groaning love songs
Them bear your heart and soul songs
Them feel it in your bones songs

Expanded

I have dreamt of magnolia fields
Glistening beneath summer clouds,
Where childish fascination meets reality,
And it is so much more.

Aspirations clung to watermelon vines
And filled the air with persuasive appeal.
Yet, beyond these striking moments of clarity
There is much more.

So I exaggerated and expanded
My existence until the froth
Was perfect for your consumption.
Still, it was more.

Now I find magnolia fields
Cannot succeed your kiss
Nor lend me to a place
That is more than this.

I will listen for your melancholy
To learn of eternity's passion,
Where the secrets are held,
Till it becomes more.
