War In the Street

War
in the street
faces
marred by defeat
crying, fighting
kicking, biting

where is the truth they’re refusing?
can’t you see humanity is losing?

sapphires
seeking retribution
victims
of senseless persecution
amnesty
road blocked by political futility
stubborn leaders
breeding this brutality

martyrs
paving ways brave and proud
but signs say, ”NO PROTESTING ALLOWED!"
people
risking their lives
to benefit future generations
placing themselves on shelves
for the sake of their children's salvation

for now, they fall
bludgeoned in defeat
with hopes of a brighter tomorrow
for this bloodshed today in the street

Stroke of Liking

I was set in my ways
Downed café au-laits
In a den of privacy.

Though pain from a jilt
Still throbbed to the hilt
A regrettable history.

With no delusions
Of future effusions
I cherished my liberty.

And tried to avoid
With every fibroid
That lost road to misery.

Yet a sneaky charmer
Found cracks in my armor
Ensnaring me unwary.

It was only a glance
A pure happen-stance
No intentionality.

But a sound like a crack
That I can’t take back
A fated futility.

Made me squeal out loud
When if from a cloud
A bolt of liking struck me.

With no more deterrent
This ardent current
Put glee in my fantasy.

At the speed of light
Our romance took flight
In ionic felicity.

Pretentious Poem 1

Boiling shells crack down hard upon raining rooftops
None doth any apparitional material cover upon her arrogant gift
She hast not laid down upon her last upstanding
Glass convails images of the inconceivable
Throwing away the Sun in blackened sickness
No guilt, no shame,
Unfeeling the inevitable eternal despisement
Swarms choking the insides with a blanket
They whisper in your ear "I love you"
They grant you no delegable antidote
Pig-wrapped in a wasteful pursuit of carnal futility
Living out the rest of days hollow
Old and carolled she slips on the filth of plastic suit
No, she won't live that long

The Earth's Generations

We are but flesh and blood
  spawned from a putrid drop
our end to lie in the ground
  with the worm and maggot

Babes, dependent on mothers
  for nourishment and love
at the close of our days
  as helpless as newborns again

In the prime of our lives
we satisfy our desires as we can
for the fulness of the bloom
soon fades, the years swiftly pass
and age takes its toll in full measure

We rage at perceived injustice
call for an end to iniquity
knowing too well the futility of reform
  the bloody terror of revolution...

The earth's generations come and go
One truth they do know ~
When passion subsides, quiet faith emerges
All else vanity and funeral dirges

Love In Futility

Cherry blossom lips
harpy of my clouded life,
order mocked by hips-
lashed, ocean blue eyes knife

Elegante, my unaware amour
masters the reasons I flee
archaic heroes of tragic lore-
rue their shades transpire in me.

I wonder at an angel's grin,
enrapt, hording her laughter.
Diamonds pale, like rivered stones,
incomparable company with my love.

But a bastard in rags-eyes avert!
Beat yourself back to the sot's cruel cage!
in those oceans you're but the Boatman's shirt
never noticed, consumed by tidal rage.

Golden Ashes

Golden ashes

You are as gold in my eyes;
How I see your rise
So deep I pry
Still then I cry

Can I ever run away from you?
you light up my dreaded end
Like chyme in my belly
Your end is nearing time

You stick so close to my lip;
How I wish I could skip
But you bring forth strength
Only to rent my fears for a while

Still stuck in the mystery of you;
I await your dusk
A thousand tusks is no publicity
Compare to your futility

We long for your history
Although reality long beckons
You stay true to the demon you are
You’re an illusion as to Golden Ashes

Four Lines of Life

A rose falls on the sore wound
Healing the deep agony within
Both pain and love have been seen
Friends, feel the futility of fatal fights...

You

"You!"
I call your name aloud. This time.
Not carefully in lyric rhyme,
But shrill and all too recklessly
Devoid of pretty poetry:
“YOU!!!!”
…But penned, as spoken words, from me
Are each the same: Futility.
(“…you….”)

Wish For Goodbye

Confronted with memories of her, and endless strife,
I bow my head and cry.
Confronted with the futility of this life,
I shake my head and sigh.
The woman who I wanted for my wife
has gone, let our love wither and die.
With agony, my existence is distressingly rife,
for I can never say
goodbye.

Faced with enduring the brokenness and pain,
I do my best to live, I try.
Clinging to the pieces of me that still remain,
I think about her, and wonder why.
Solace I cannot find, loneliness my heart's bane;
reality I want to deny.
If only I could say
goodbye.

Embracing This Reality

Embracing This Reality

                                 Within our conscious physical reality

exist true love and undeniable uncertainty

Live life as if you have gazed at and touched

                                  the confounding edge of infinity

Since the search for the fountain

                                  of perpetual existence

Is an unquenchable thirst in futility

Until They Invent It

I sit here thinking about how much I love you

You will never find any love more true

I offer you every breath I take, everything I do

You are the one who makes me feel brand new

If you try to measure my love’s intensity

To try and see my heart’s sincerity

It will just be a mere act of futility

It can’t be measured but it will last for all eternity

I try to find the words that will fit

To describe the way you make my heart beat

But all day I can try to think and here sit

No words will ever fit until they invent it

I'Ll Never See You Again

We’ll have thoughts, fantasies; send letters of futility, but...

I’ll never see you again

The time will pass and we’ll both be alone -
A devastation we’ll suffer for years to come

Though never ending, someday reaching an end, once suffering is done..

I’ll never see you again

On separate ends of the earth, torn apart inside, and bonded only by the thought of one another;

Our lives will continue, not as planned;
Uncontrollable destiny leads us on, an everlasting link of our hearts beating as one; searching for someone to fill that void;
Everyday hoping and waiting but.....

I’ll never see you again

The Burnt Beauty

the tears of futility rain,

on her beautiful stained frame,

color crimson runs the lines,

of the paths etched into her mind,

but it cant hurt, say those who care?

the relentless laws of pain do not spare,

a lot respect, a lost pride,

 The tears that she denied

fear, ambition and passion drove,

a lust of work to a lust of love,

droplets from her eyes course down,

alas the queen abdicated her crown.

I Feel

Daily I feel this pain
That tells even in my vein
The true futility of a secret lover
Same lady I see and love everyday
I can not show how I want her any way
I wish I could write her a letter
That will describe what I feel
And make her be by me for real
But she... is the wife of my brother

Natural Beauty

I look at you doing ordinary things
Bewitched by your beauty
I watch you take off your make-up
And puzzle at its redundancy

Why do you even put it on
It adds nothing to your beauty
For you cannot enhance perfection
It is an exercise in futility

This Is the Place

This is the place

This is the place where the weak
 suffocate on love
This is the place where centuries
are learned and discarded in seconds
This is the place where great minds
 discover infinity
just before the madness sets in
This is the place where chaos becomes order
 then back to chaos again
This is the place where the highway dares you
to get as far from home as possible
 and never look back
This is the place where futility is a virtue,
a problem no scientist can solve
This is the place where language
 does not exist

Let Us Crawl Backwards

fasten the belt of love
hum a tune sing a song
tap your feet free your mind
life is beautiful
the girl in red gesticulating
silently wide expressive eyes
flutter mechanical safety
of futility live the high life
whistling in the yellow vest
let us crawl backwards
like a lobster

To the Gates of Chill

Even to the realm of silence
I follow.
To primordial chaos
The specious zany follows.

Seemingly myopic,
my sepulchral glare.
Beware! Of conning eyes
you raider of fulfilled rapture.

I hound the hooded hound
for my demi-soul.
Adonis for Aphrophone
walks plutonian deeps.

Though, I come,
futility behind
scourges with strikes
of dejection.

Yet, on void grounds
I push to limbo
being met by wan faces,
wry creatures.

I fear that perchance
the blazing pecan
is ripe for reaping

Will you succumb?
Aphrophone!

New York

What can be said
That hasn't been said?
This: The newness of experience
Of every sentient searcher
In their inability, their complete futility,
Of "staying in"
With the magma buzz beyond the window,
The heat and expanse
Beckoning the poet's aching heart
In the coldest month of Manhattan.
February in New York.
All desires derivative of a single step.
We arrive and splay outward the reckless fit of our passion
As we love and learn
New York.

Abstract Submissions

Snap the arms from this sculpture,
Create art;
Pin the wings of this butterfly,
Beauty preserved;
Plunge a skull in formaldehyde,
Declare genius;
Map cardiographs of heartbeats,
Pronounce life.

Must, then, my tears in their solitude
Define nothing?
And so my love in fierce impotence
Mother wasteland?
As my loins seep with futility
Staining mercy,
On the lace thong of history
Blemish secrets.

Yet for you all my travesties
Merit purpose;
And my abstract submissions
Suffer love;
Melting veiled in your shadows,
My honour;
And to tremble in your light
My desire…

Futility

I could write this silly poem
Play a million songs
Lay awake not sleeping
Raging all night long
Spend my days and hours
Plagued by thoughts of you
But it won't change a single thing
There's nothing I can do
I can't control your feelings
Or fix reality
This exercise in torment
Is just futility
The truth is I'm exhausted
It's such a waste of time
Languishing in passion
As desire taunts my mind
I'm totally depleted
So tired, all in vain
Wanting you, your skin, your touch
You're my carnal bane
I wish I could forget you
Erase my memory
Purge you from my being
It's such futility.

The Futility of Love

I watch your back till it disappears from sight

I know every inch of your skin

Every expression your eyes can make

I hear your angry whisper in my ear

Your playful laughter ripples over my skin

Tomorrow it will be only a memory

Today I am being ripped in two

Every tear has your name

As they slowly drip down my face

I wearily wipe them away

Wishing I could as easily

Wipe the memory of you from my consciousness

Why could you not love me

More than you loved yourself

Why could you not hold onto me

Why would you not let me hold onto you

Futility

Oh! my extinct love,
secretively killing me,
Incapacitate.

It's fun- a reason
Having this sort of ennui
Love stabbed...piece of heart
Penetrating deep within
It hurts...so vulnerable.

Like brain-twisting poetry
numb...feeling of nothingness
no meter- nothing to write
so incompetent.

John a Peace Maker

John Lennon was all about peace, love and hope.
Like Ghandi and Dr. Martin Luther King Junior,
he wanted people to get along, to love each other.

His death was the ultimate betrayal of his life.
But in another way, it reminded us of the futility of murder.
Of the horror of it, of the senselessness and the sadness.

I picture him planning his life prior to his arrival.
He agreed to this horrible death knowing it would help the world.
Reiterating everything he taught in his songs.

That we need a Yellow Submarine,
that the world is full of happy people.
That we need love, sweet love.
In his death he was also teaching us.
Forever teaching us.
Thank you John.
