Death of a Lancer

My one true love with eyes of sparkling blue
Our hearts as one it was our destiny
Heaven sent you for me and me for you
It would not last but end in tragedy.

War intervened I’d have to go away
To the Crimea with the light brigade
My true love I thought of every day
Our lives on hold along with plans we’d made.

The Captain said “suppress your greatest fears
Ride close ranks and do not come asunder”
The noise of hooves were ringing in my ears
Sounds they made were like a raging thunder.

A lance pierced me and off my horse I fell
Then death came down, my life I bid farewell.

Captain 'Effing' Flint

My parrots name was Captain Flint,
Boy that bird could swear.
I never invited visitors,
So blue was the air.

He'd squawk "pretty effing polly"
Or "give us a cracker you t##t"
I'd never heard such swearing,
I never taught him that.

I bought him off a sailor
Who was heading back to sea,
He said to me, "you'll love him
He's such good company."

And what he said was right
He entertained, it's true.
I said "who's a pretty boy then"
He squawked, " well not effing you !"

The profanities just got too much,
I sold him, with regret.
But the house seems so quiet now,
Without my 'effing' pet !

Whiskey Glasses and Bathroom Mirrors

Two o'clock she hits me hard
I salute to another captain
look around and swallow hard

Not as hard as you leaving
hitting me straight between the eyes
stars spinning right after midnight
can't remember exactly why

Whispers filled the empty cauldron
along with a pint of homemade wine
life already was a struggle living
now what am I going to do with all this time

Whiskey glasses and bathroom mirrors
keep on holding back the cries
another pent up night in Georgia
running scared and telling lies

Come on back before the summer
when my troubles will be unclothed
sprinkle love upon these shoulders
before this man has decomposed

The Captain Dies By Suicide

“Charm'd magic casements, opening on the foam
Of perilous seas, in faery lands forlorn.”

John Keats Ode to a Nightingale
“Strange to find a sea captain quoting Keats.”
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
She knows nothing about the sea, the sails or thee, your perilous tongue swimming with the sharks. The captain dies by suicide - nay. stupidity - aye. She’s protected, captured by his salty speech. Oft the wind carries its scent of aftershave - nay, again, for the bearded captain scowls, transcends with this blasted widow scores a poetic love. 11/19/2019

She Waits

She Waits with wanton desires
It's been six months out to sea

She read from his words
He did not disappoint her

Words of love & lust dripped
From Lavender scented pages

She longed to read those words
Seemed forever and a day

You know where to stand
Where I can see all of your glory

Do not wash, I dream of your smell
So there she stood "waiting "
For the captain of her heart!

Unconditioonal Love - the Short Version

I live inside this bottle
Because it makes me feel
Like nothing else I've ever felt
Don't tell me it's not real

The Captain looked into my eyes
And saw the pain that I denied
He knew His love could set me free
When I saw in Him what He saw in me.

Twenty Years

Oh captain,our captain,
How much us Yankees will miss you so.
20 years You gave us,
Without any complaints to a friend or foe.
You gained our love and trust,
Your surely and forever have our respect,
That no other player will every deflect.
A true Yankee through and through....
We couldnt be prouder,
You was always our fighter.
So calm and relaxed was you, with every
Game you showed how much you did care,
Even if you have left the plate your presence
Will always be felt there.
What more is there to say,
We know you went out your way.

Purple Heart

Lace of dreams - long time gone -
Embraces waist of maiden
An off- white whisper's subtle tone
Drops shyly pearls from Heaven

Breeze flutters holographic Me
My wounded captain has returned
I feel like floating rainbow glee
His eyes are red and face is stern

He drops his gear and runs through me
A desperate undertow of sorrow
I never felt so loved and free
He screams as there is no tomorrow

The dawn drops soundproof double door
I leave him lonely in the wild
Surrendered heart returns to war
As I find peace along with child...

Ship of Life

GOD is the MASTER of our Faith JESUS is the CAPTAIN of our Soul When we are sailing on the Ship of Life the storms don’t last very long Our Ship of Life is beaten and worn, but, with GOD as our MASTER and JESUS as our CAPTAIN our Ship of Life keeps sailing on The storms of life will forever rage on with GOD watching from above and JESUS onboard our Ship of Life keeps sailing through troubled storms When our Ship of Life reaches that distant shore all of our troubles will be left onboard because our Ship of Life will be anchored in GOD'S Mercy and blessed with JESUS' Love

Limerick Crochet: the Saga of Sea Anne-Anne

Limerick crochet: The Saga of Sea Anne-Anne

Once the Captain of the good ship Anne-Anne
Took to the waves to conquer the main.
Slept round the clock mid-ship
Towed his women aft-ship:
Yet women and ship turned on him in pain.

The Flying Oarsman won America gain
And tamed the raging waters Sea Anne-Anne.
One cup he never won
Was the Darling fourth one:
A touching tale this: the tears shed by Jane!

A Father's Day Prayer

Though tempest's foaming deep swells far from land
and restless waves should buffet his small boat,
the Captain at the wheel with steady hand
trusts Providence to keep the crew afloat.
A Shepherd finds green pastures for his flock
protecting them that they may safely dwell
and carries injured lambs who cannot walk
to nurture them with love until they're well.
Preparing lesson plans and lecturing,
the Teacher answers questions patiently -
delighting in the joy knowledge can bring,
imparting light for growing eyes to see.
Lord, please grant wisdom, strength, and grace to me
to captain, shepherd, teach my family.

His Child Standing At, Time's Door

We couldn't see the turmoil past their swirling smoke
Something strange although ? Seeking for a gesture her children
Granted this clarity should not be given; at least, in his physical realm
Ninty-nine blue balloons these answers wavering amid another's storms saddling
Up their unicorns ride captain ride, upon your mystery ship ? Bovine bottles and goat milk
Spilling from their lips hedge hog philosophy drawn from, portentouslies mystical pit: labyrinthos
Doggerel dogma Dodo's delirium tremens delivered aside Dae's podium being definitive's deism hiscere...
Maitre d'hotel feigned her facade espouse, gyrations; marinated peace signs his pork's stillborn ? Love's keyhole.

The Captain

He's still out there
the stars can see
More than memories
what's yet to be
Your melancholy
turned to muse
No, not forsaken
there's still a fuse
Ignite the flame
and fan belief
Between the lines
beyond the grief
A lonely sailor
just off your shore
He has returned
heart aches for more
And more and more and more
He aches for more
More of you!

~Lyric Man

Note: This is a song about possibilities, even when hope is gone. Maybe just beyond where you can see there still abides a love that's true. A love that hasn't forgotten. A love that's trying to make its way back to you. Is there more than melancholy memories?

Oh, Captain, Captain

You think there will be a next time?
You've betrayed my trust
It feels like it was all lust
to you and I can not stand
These emotions at hand
I don't want to hurt
So why would I revert
back to this again?

My Boat Sailed Away

My Boat sailed away

dark clouds collided
above the vast ocean
waves hit
strongly urged

my boat
sailed away from me
led away
precious treasure

a special heart

turbulence wind
so powerful
ready to roll
the banner on a mast

a white banner
beautifully embroidered
knitted with
love

my favorite boat
sailed away

vast oceans
can’t be
be measured

strong expectation
the captain
remain victorious
to guide my boat
sailing safely

develop the white banner
embroidered with love
till longing bring you back

meet these eyes
who never tired
waiting for the boat

carve the sea level
and sail back

A Sailor

crisp white uniform
like pure white ocean foam
his eyes navy blue
for he winked at the sea
his shoes polished squid-ink black
with superior shine
his medals proudly gleam
the Captain grins, wants to salute him
eagerly waits his turn
his fellow seaman — some like him
others hold the jealousy of Davy Jones Locker
but the women love him in droves
some with ulterior motives just to be a Navy wife
swooping necklines, netted stockings
long blond silky hair accost his senses
but on the long watches he serves her
the one he loves best — his country
so he trims his neckline, sharpens
the lines of his tailored pants
and protects the deck
day and night

I Go

I go where love is the key
I go where only hope seize
Let me go to the eternity
Where I will see splendid beauty
The beauty of stars and angels
Where the flowers blossom like in summer

There in the fallen misty mountains
There i shall see the great plains of Africa
And little houses looking like ants colonies
I go where all turmoil shall vanish
This is the home of all the kings of ancient times

Come with me so our names shall be remembered
Follow me to the bliss of pagan souls
Come hear how they are chanting your name
Hear the captain at the end of the bridge

Love Flew Out the Window - Revised

Love flew out the window, the wind took it away
Hoping you would catch glance, but you did not look its way

There are no beats filling my heart, our love is now untwined
Like a captain abandoning ship, I will leave it all behind

Ears not needed for listening, there is nothing to converse
Two people branded by papers that are difficult to reverse

Feeling like a punished child, I am done giving reasons
Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall...I just need a change of seasons.

My Rare Disorder

I have a rare disorder that causes me to see everyone in the cast of any submarine movie as Don Rickles. Every bloody person is Don Rickles. Once saw a submarine movie wherein a woman was saved from a sinking ship and the captain on the submarine made love to her and they both were Don Rickles.

Maiden Voyage

I had dwelt in the sky
But not high enough I fear.
Those dark mountains yonder
That at first seemed motionless
But that upon reflection moved
Were but clouds of the sea kind

Menacing if you ask me
But oppressively so
To a novice such as I
On my maiden sea voyage, ha
But the skipper seeing me thus
All transfixed came over to me

Hey, son, you missing dry land already?
Whereupon I snapped out of my stupor
No, Captain, I was just wondering
How we’re going to navigate
Past the dark hills yonder?

The sea has no hills, son,
And when the sea has hills
I will be the first to know
Now get back to your cabin
And dream of your love.

Captain of My Vessel

Abba Father you are to me..
The very essence that I breathe.

I will worship you and praise your name.
Through the storms of life and waves of pain.

I am your sailor and you are my captain.
Guiding me through no matter what happens.

The world cannot promise love forevermore.
Only you Jesus, can bring me safely to the shore.
