Out of the Desert

Stiff, stifling, arid air: snakes, lizards, sand,
and cactus. Scorched red rocks and baking skin.
My canteen empty in a barren land -
my romance landscape till first love walked in.
One summer evening under moon's cool beam,
the desert's xeric heat no longer cursed.
Lazing with friends. A pool... in walked my dream.
First glance: a tall, cool drink to slake all thirst.
Then as her eyes met mine, my blood ran warm.
My hand touched hers; both temp and pulse were raised.
In time, slow dancing - two bodies conform,
and with that first kiss, fulgent flames soon blazed.
The desert heat from which I'd just emerged
blithely returned, as first love's swelter surged.

I Didn'T Hold Grudges

I suffered,he laughed
I filled up his voids, he created mine.
I looked for roses,he gave cactus
I looked only for his heart,he focussed on my body
I healed all those stitches,he gave me wounds..
I ignored him,he started following
I left him,he cried
I didn't hold any grudges,he holds guilt.

Desert Moon

Sands of plum evening
Cactus blooms love cool twilight
Windswept, pearly dunes
Hot orange days are so long
evoking the starlit throng

Solitude songbirds
in fiery sunset colors
croon songs to lovers
Magnificent moon so huge
gazing on total silence

My Beautiful Place

I've seen the Rocky Mountains
From Alberta to New Mexico
Heavenly reaching cathedrals
Rock walls like stained glass windows
Death Valley's crystalline sands
Sparkle like moonlit seas
Red orange cactus roses
Saguaro and Joshua Trees
Green meadows covered with weeds
Deep purple to crimson red
Melting in waves of heat
Reflecting in lakes where they bled
Looked out, over Niagara Falls
Sunlit mist of every hue
Thousand Islands, covered with snow
In The St Lawrence of indigo blue
Multicolored hot air balloons
Floating lazily 'cross baby blue skies
But the place most beautiful to me
Is here, with you by my side

Trust, Trust and Trust

Trust, Trust and Trust

Jumpy journey life becomes
If the one you trusted most turns Judas.....
Juniper fades ,wilts, withers.....
for soil fertile at roots is now poisoned
Rot and ferment with hatred its berries fragrant
Its very existence turns purposeless!

A merry-go-round ride life becomes
If the one you trusted most is by your side forever
Even cactus now grows much luxuriant.....
for it receives all its vital nutients
Rejuvenates and blooms with love its bright flowers
Even in hot desert it spreads its greenness!

In life, display their gymnastics trust and betrayal duo
Victor is forever the trust for its the underlying power!!

Once I Sang Like a Little Baby Bird

I feel I’ve conquered
the majestic night

in an open field sodden with
love of a countless gasps

I am not new to the world
swearing in the shadow of a cactus
and mulling over the smiles

of Northern stars tirelessly
taking photos of my soul, which is always close
to my birth, craving for prosperity

And, I crave for breath
accenting to mine

Ah, I am forever

the tropical wind of my land
where poetry is like a flower’s gatherer
sweetly teasing my thoughts
to sing like a little baby bird

in an open field sodden with
love of a countless gasps

- Watch Out For Cactus Needles -

Balance between love and limits
The relationship between power and love
No distinction between gender, ethnicity, age or religion
Cooperation between people and countries, gives strength
Let limits fall, allow the love to grow

--Love Storm--

My hummingbird found me
A cactus i used to be
Instead she wrapped around me
she kissed my deep buried heart
Rose petals surround me
All around me
All around me
I am a dancing flower now
Dancing On the beats
Of her cute fluttering sound...

You Came Like the Rain

The dead leaves were sparkled;

the splash of rain colored with life.

My barren heart found an immigrant's
Love,

a sea of desire ruffled with inspiration.

My hands reached for eternity

years of isolation was broken.

Life's meaning was fulfilled.

You came like the Rain

with utmost joy I welcomed You

showered you with all my truism.

But desert is a place for cactus,

love bleeds in my heart.

Heathen Heart and Heathen soul

they said, 'It was a storm'...

Transformation

In the cracking land of a dessert's mouth,
A flower felt a rolling drought.
Cutting it's own leaves and petals,
It writhed in thirst as a dying trout.

Praying from it's diminishing sprout,
for a hovering blessing, a single cloud!
It fell limp! Begged and wailed:
"End the curse; this scorching flout!"

And moisture, it's love, then shamelessly avouched:
"Kill your wait, start living without!
I nourish a place that makes me proud.
This love for me shall end in drought!"

The flower heard in helpless slouch,
Obeying, it grew needles to grouch!
The flower that which love was about,
Turned by pain into a cactus of drought!

My Bride

A lingering grief deep in my heart , I tried so hard to shun
The frivolous world that seems so odious
That feeling didn't last as you were the one
Who changed my melancholy , you are ambidextrous

You turned my barren soul into green meadows
With your inner peace and shining lovely smile
Spiky cactus in burrows of solitude and shadows
Turned to love trees surrounding a wonderful domicile

On the beach looking at the far moon and fronting sea
A caress that changed stillness of sea to waves of tide
I believe that this is like what you have done to me
But I wish this impact lasts forever , you and me beside

So please , my lady , Can you be my bride?

Arid

Fragments of copper scatter;
smothers an Opal kiss
the surface only matters;
ardour does not exist,
and deserts of weary Chicory
sway with limestone tips,
swelling like the cactus
blistering our lips.

Arizona Spring

The honeysuckle nectar is gathered with a buzz Cactus flowers perform their sweet encore, just because Sandals tip toe in short skirts, so busy are the eyes Spilling ink are poets, minding minds of the wise Love is in the air breezing through limbs and leaves Newlyweds sniffing with mouths under dancing trees Spring has sprung and love is singing everywhere While country clocks crawl and standing still is Time Square

Love Hurts

Love hurts like;
               porky pines needles, of
                    A cactus bush... Ouch!!!
                                     That hurts.
     Stop poking me...

A Cactus Ever So Lonely

I see, this is what it means,
To have one intention, and one only.
Why is it I have to be that one cactus,
That feels ever so lonely.
The hard rocks to the pavement so hot,
Do I care?
No I most certainly do not.
For I have these friends, seemingly different.
But who cares?
For their petals drip such vibrant colors,
And their love they leant.
I sit here, pointy and uneasy to touch,
But the soft heart of those flowers die down such a thought.
Now, I don't have to feel like an only,
Neither do I have to be that cactus, that is ever so lonely.

Stealthy Love

One tanka ~~ on theme ~~love note~~5/7/5/7/7

Stealthy love is
Like cactus in desert
Thriving for dry air,
Grows up tempestuously
A ghost eluding touch.

Drought

Desert drought left this sinner dry.
The cloudless sky would not say why.
Frugal cactus shared water free.
God has been merciful to me.

I will not mourn the lack of rain
Joy in God’s sky is my refrain.
By me a sleeping snake I see,
God has been merciful to me.

Fear is gone as I gaze above
Knowing in drought my Father’s love.
Shade clouds offer hope instantly.
God has been merciful to me.

Stumbling along, my ears do ring,
Yet flowing words my mouth does sing.
When an artesian spring I see:
God has been merciful to me.

Prickly Pear

Your love, like cactus fruit
its tiny teeth sharp and taunting,
needling the flesh of my soul

you hide behind bold hues
and a spiny point of view,
failing your tenderness

but there's nothing sweeter in nature,
I've tasted its core,
my tongue dribbling succulent sips
of slipped slurs and
sappy sentiments

so I will gather myself beneath moonlight
and pluck petty prickles,
like a woman stupid in love

Desert

I met her in grade 7

She was a bowl of sunshine, with anxiety and hope mixed in.

A desert, where things thrive in situations that most can't.

She made me feel like the sun was something she built for me in her toolshed.
She was my Sun, and I was but a cactus.

Love Defined

Would that I were not a cactus,
in a desert, behind the sand dune.
and, see the paining blisters,
on the bare feet of a lover,
whom his beloved would embrace
passionately, unto their last breath.

Would that I were a wild tree,
in a jungle, behind the cliff,
and, listen the love songs,
of love birds, near the brook,
who ,in their twosome union,
scatter beauty of night's fragrance

Love and War

If I were a plant
I would be a cactus
Beautiful to look at
But painful to hold

If I were a place
It would be Alaska
Beautiful, majestic
But decidedly cold.

For every action
There is a reaction
Or maybe it's karma
I'm told.

But, without you to hold me
I would have no reason
To still be here when I'm old.

Love To Hear

As much, I do like to read, beautiful poetry
Even more so, to hear it read to me
That voice with sweet nectar
With excitement, thrill, and adventure
With closed eyes, and relaxed posture

Feeling like a cactus in dry desert, receiving
As if an endless shower of rain, with the light
Of a wood stove, the sound of the wind blow
Breeze filled poetry, came alive all over me
So on continued that sweet voice, listening I'm grinning

Yet make I not a noise, oh the sound of a
Rhyme scheme, the words dance around me
Like it's a melody, and when it's all over, like
A child's bed time story, I say start over
I love to hear...

Desert Gold

silver swords strike
red mountain
exposing the night

flash bang x-rays
bombarding my soul
rattling windows

tin roof deluge
staccato
gushing down my heart
cleansing the gutters

spring shower
desert gold
invigorating my spirit
renewing cactus flowers

fragrant fresh morning
tender breath from above
gentle sun warming

red blossom dripping
sweet nectar of heavenly love
wee hummer sipping
