Two Pairs of Shoes

Two pairs of shoes beside the bed.
Mine are tiny, his large instead.

His are steel toed, sandals are mine.
His dull and dark, but mine have shine.

Opposites yes, just like our shoes.
When I'm happy, he has the blues.

My secret to brighten his mood...
A large rare steak, his kind of food.

I like the soaps, he likes the news.
When I watch mine, he takes a snooze.

I can't stand to see people die...
Watching his news just makes me cry.

Even though, we might have a fight
Love keeps us together all night.

And each night when we go to sleep.
Two pairs of shoes, company keep!

Sleeping With The Enemy

See what you want to see
Don't Look at me!
You are staring you are watching;
Eat what you can't be

Come sleep by my side
The whole world is our playground
Don't make a sound
Stop clowning around

In the mist of the night,
You keep me from crying

I wipe off the taste of your lips
You kiss me starting at my inner hips
You broke me in a way..
I hate to say your love is better every day
I deny you, the one thing I can't say

You are my pillow
Where I rest my legs,
Can you feel me~
This moment feels right
I just want to die here,
Die here ~
Die here by your side

I sleep with my eyes wide open,
I sleep with the enemy by my side
Come here and hold me
After you watched my worlds collide
Come here and love me
I'm yours till the end of time
You can rock me!
Under the moon and its rhyme
I put it all to a side, how I hate you inside
I can't let go
I just want you to know
I'm a fool in love with you
Even if it doesn't show!

In eternal sleep i will find thee, Julia

As fiery beacons
And cut through the
As restless sleep
Doth so tax and
Trouble me;
And I hang upon
A promise:
That my love
For thou
I did most fervently
Swear unto thee!

As icy comets roar
And sail against
The galactic tides,
Their streaming tails
Lingering upon a
Solar wind,
I will grasp
This one last chance...
To bare my soul
And chasten myself
From all my sins.

Then immortal wings
Will downwards sweep
From heavenly ramparts
Where divine Angels
Do so keep...
To gently raise me
To my feet,
And, softly brushing
The dust
From mine eyes,
Lift me high
To be seated down
Before the wise.

Hence so empowered,
Whilst slumbering
Once more take flight -
Unremitting and
Without respite:
When, passing through
Heavens doors...
To search you out
Across the sands of
Timeless shores.

Thus, finally, after
Across starry Aeons
Of an almost infinite age,
Throughout these
Many anguished trials
Of forlorn,
And seemingly,
Despairing days,
To overwhelmingly
Rediscover your
Beholding your perfect
Form -

Suddenly and inextricably
Before my wonder-struck

After enduring what feels
Like the damnation and
Curse of eternities
Countless years,
Now, heretofore:
How I shall cherish
And much adore...
This one true heart
Forever more.

Last Night When you Were in Deep Sleep

Last night when you were in deep sleep I scribbled a poem on your bare back, a page so soft--with love bites and moles I used them to cut the t's and dot the i's; my finger tips' softly turn created ripples in a placid lake where you prepared to take a dip in your dream, my words followed you in that unknown land secretly to know your destination. I remembered to forget every scribbled word as it was my gift to the sleepless night, she was picking up each word one by one and kept them in her lap of silence. For the first time, you never knew how a poem was born and lost in the silence of night. © kash poet (kashinath karmakar) =====================================

Not One Word

The sweet rhapsody of quietness
Sit back and savor
the music of the void,
where no dissonant voices are heard
It's so relaxing in this soundless realm;
break not the peace, speak not one word
Stay muted,
let all unspoken thoughts flow within
a serene state of mind, cascading down
into a calm stream of consciousness
No discordant utterances echoes through this vale of tranquility
The absence of strident, background noise
          the ears
                      to fall
                               sound asleep
Not one disturbing word to be heard..
There is only blessed silence
floating around you as you dream deep,
thinking of me,
in the heart of the night
This is as it should be

While You Sleep

While you sleep I tell you all of the things I keep inside throughout day.
Now that you can hear but not listen I find them much easier to say.
My hopes, my dreams, my fears, and everything in between
Your subconscious hears so keen, or so it seems.
My tongue is soft; I speak so sweetly
Knowing your reaction will never greet me.

Tonight will be different in what I want you to know.
It has everything to do with what I can’t help but show.
I hold no claim to any religion but you’ve given me a place for my faith.
Somewhere it will never stale or lose its lavish taste.
You’ve shown me something I can see, touch, and feel,
And so before it I choose to kneel.

I know I don’t say it but I miss you every day.
Sitting, thinking of the perfect words to be my choice,
Yet when you call I can’t find any of the right words to say.
I’m just happy to finally hear your voice.
Even just a moment is enough to sooth my heavy heart;
Fearing the ends of conversations knowing we’ll have to part.

I’ll never be too far from you, always within arm’s reach,
And in your days of darkness I’ll be the light that you will seek.
I’ll never let you leave too far from me, I’ll stay close behind you in this world;
Secretly protecting what is mine, you will always be my girl.
I only want the best for you so the best of me I will employ.
Faithfully yours, I will always be your boy.

I close my eyes and kiss your soft sweet lips
And see the very best of you in loving bliss.
I see past the physical which makes you attractive
And focus on the things I can’t see in which I’m attracted.
Your thoughts I’d love to hear them all.
Of the things you speak disinterest never makes its call.

My day will come, I know someday I’ll be the only one.
And you I will pursue viciously,
Because I’ve given you the greatest gift I can give, to love unconditionally.
Yes our day will come, I know someday we’ll be as one.
And you I will pursue viciously,
Because I’ve given you the greatest gift I can give… to love unconditionally.

To the Boy Who Could Not Sleep

You cannot sleep, you tell me
spitting forth frustration
angry sentiments of a scorned heart
Your dreams are robbed
You have been ridiculed
all day
in a world where
You don’t quite understand the rules
every word you spoke today was the wrong one
You crossed lines unknowingly
doors were shut in your face doors
of opportunity
Your love and passion
which you felt was real
was mocked—
so you cannot put away such thoughts
You come to me frowning, heated
seeking sympathy
But son,
you are young
you know not what ropes
truly bind the soul
what thoughts throttle the heart
in the darkness of night
you have been betrayed, deceived
by strangers amongst whom
you sought fortune and acknowledgement
but this, I tell you
is no shame, no grief
you have not felt the cuts
of those you thought dearest
those you thought you knew
that hair those lips those eyes that heart
now coloring and darting away
leaving icy holes
in your chest
you know not yet
that the curse of a sleepless night
does not burn with anger
it is cold, so cold
and so lonely
So say not another word now
and go
you may sleep in peace
for you are not a father.

As I Lay Myself To Sleep

As I lay myself to sleep in the dusk of my heart, the wintry sky still shines Luna streams its porcelain glow through my bedroom blinds It pours honeycombed warmth in these almond eyes And its there that I think of him,a soft sweet descent on my pillow case a golden tint of firefly's radiance cascading gently upon the velvets of my face It is there that I ache for him to fall once more like last fading stars in the desert of my arms It is there where his fingerprints mark these forgotten lips and his lavender kiss embraces every inch of my slight curved hips But when the night is over, like a dewlushed leaf in early breeze He is swept away...So far far away So far too gone to utter words I so wanted to say ...And with every breaking dawn tired footsteps lead the path to the old oak tree which once witnessed our dream our shared peach, our holding hands, our blissful joy and distant tears There,in the shade I sit alone but not in solitude by a mossy stone which owns his name Secretly I whisper to his soul uspoken thoughts still kept at bay 'My only love,You are gone, but never gone I might arrive late, but never too late I feel your absence in my bones like cold air on a rainy day But tomorrow, Somehow,Somewhere Spring-kissed gardens bloom fresh blossoms by the promise of today.' A revised and rewritten oldie... Inspired by the song -'If tomorrow never comes'

My angel, I love to watch you sleep

My angel, I love to watch you sleep........ When the night comes then your voice calm down When the moon begin to sail in the sky then your eyes are closing down to sleep You fall asleep while dim light illuminates your room I love to watch you sleep my little girl You sleep like a little angel within your dreams Your hair falls both sides of your face and your hands folded in to the blanket Your pillows and bunnies are spread around you You breath soft and low while your innocent heart beat slowly to the merry tune I love to watch you sleep my little baby When I want to kiss you to say good night in your sleep then you toss your head and stretch your little body and turn around sleep again while holding your pillow God brought you to me and given you as his gift and today you are the greatest treasure in my life Someone to laugh and dance and sing in my home I love to watch you sleep my angel Ravi Sathasivam / Sri Lanka All rights are reserved

A Dream

A Dream
I patiently waited for you all the day long, my beloved. Even the tired, orange, afternoon sun long ago drifted off to sleep. Nighttime arrived in a hurry shoving away the short-lived evening, with rhinestone stars dotting a shimmering, dark, velvet sky, and a pale, silver moon shyly venturing on the horizon.
After the lamps were all lit, I struggled to stay awake, but my heavy eyelids drooped as I was weary from the long day. So forgive me, my lord, as I unwittingly succumbed to the potent spell of the Sandman’s magical dust; and sly Morpheus sneakily captured me in his soothing embrace.
Come share with me this dream of tranquil enchantment, in a watercolor field of delicately perfumed lavender and clover. And I in peaceful repose await your arrival, my lord, to gently awaken me with tender kisses, sweet as nectar. I look for you, my dearest love, in a dream!

Can I sleep with you

Incurable insomnia had perturbed my eyes
Negligence had destroyed your hopes too
You were drenched by a heavy shower of sadness
Till My bare lustrous skin approached your hours
Your hands gradually caressing my dynamic curves
Long black curls had fallen on your shoulders
The ecstacy of my passion reached its final hours
Emotions ran down to my neck
You were drugged by a blissful kiss
Isolation was broken with this union
Endless nights spent in your arms
Loneliness was ravaged by the kingdom of happiness
I slept in your deep tranquil eyes
Till the moonlight disappeared in the lonely sky
This rapturous dream was beautiful and true
Can I really sleep with you ?

Red Light

have you ever felt like
the flashing red light on the roof,
lonely as ever
visible at night, useless by day?

in sync with its partner next door
for a quick kiss over a few flashes only
then arguing again and again
night in, night out.

have you ever felt like
the flashing red light on the roof,
not signaling a warning to keep away
but sending a call for compassion?

using the dark pauses in between
to yell the same name
over and over and over
into the emptiness of each night.

have you ever felt like
the flashing red light on the roof,
being your silent cry
only heard by your eternal love?

Sleepless Nights

I sleep, though it’s only temporary Simple love exists there within my eyes However it’s broken, quite unhealthy I cannot sleep, I awake with disguise Simple love exists there within my eyes She holds all my thoughts firm outside and in I cannot sleep, I awake with disguise As though she holds me, she doesn’t begin She holds all my thoughts firm outside and in Confused about our love I wake again As though she holds me, she doesn’t begin Never can she grasp my heart, it’s a sin Confused about our love I wake again She has messed with my head from all over Never can she grasp my heart, it’s a sin What she has done to me, she’s no lover She had messed with my head from all over Such to keep me up all hours of the night What she has done to me, she’s no lover I can’t find sleep, it’s truly out of sight Such to keep me up all hours of the night I don’t know how you could do this to me I can’t find sleep, it’s truly out of sight I start off sleeping, a light sleep I see I don’t know how you could do this to me However it’s broken, quite unhealthy I start off sleeping, a light sleep I see I sleep, though it’s only temporary

Sleep My Love Sleep

Sleep my love, sleep.
Rest your head on my breasts
and place yourself into my keep.
Then, dream us on a mighty quest.

To a land where dragons exist.
Where we can run through mystical forests,
as we chase unicorns through the mist.
Then, on pretty balloons will float, I promise.

As through the marsh we must flee.
Toward evil knights guarding the keep,
where the buried treasure is we seek.
Before we escape on the murmuring seas.

Sleep my love, sleep.
Close your eyes and spread your wings.
There is no reason for you to weep,
for in your dreams you are king.

You Just Gotta Know

If she doesnt call you
[ Its because she is waiting for you to call her ]
When she walks away from you mad
[ Follow her ]
When she stare's at your mouth
[ Kiss her ]
When she pushes you or hit's you
[ Grab her and dont let go ]
When she start's cussing at you
[ Kiss her and tell her you love her ]
When she's quiet
[ Ask her whats wrong ]
When she ignore's you
[ Give her your attention ]
When she pull's away
[ Pull her back ]
When you see her at her worst
[ Tell her she's beautiful ]
When you see her start crying
[Just hold her and dont say a word ]
When you see her walking
[ Sneak up and hug her waist from behind ]
When she's scared
[ Protect her ]
When she lay's her head on your shoulder
[ Tilt her head up and kiss her ]
When she steal's your favorite hat
[ Let her keep it and sleep with it for a night]
When she tease's you
[ Tease her back and make her laugh ]
When she doesnt answer for a long time
[ reassure her that everything is okay ]
When she look's at you with doubt
[ Back yourself up ]
When she say's that she like's you
[ she really does more than you could understand ]
When she grab's at your hands
[ Hold her's and play with her fingers ]
When she bump's into you
[ bump into her back and make her laugh ]
When she tell's you a secret
[ keep it safe and untold ]
When she looks at you in your eyes
[ dont look away until she does ]

When she misses you
[ she's hurting inside ]

When you break her heart
[ the pain never really goes away ]

When she says its over
[ she still wants you to be hers ]

- Stay on the phone with her even if shes not saying anything

- When she's mad hug her tight and don't let go then kiss her

- When she says she's ok dont believe it talk with her

- because 10 yrs later she'll remember you

- Call her at 12:00am on her birthday to tell her you love her

- Call her before you sleep and after you wake

A Soldiers Wife

He gets up at 4 a.m, and puts on his ACU’s
And laces up his combat boots
He is my man, this is my life
For I am a soldiers wife
He means the world to me
He is my hero and who I want to be
When he is gone and I am all alone
I have a lot to shoulder
He is my man, he is a soldier
I miss him so much that inside I ache
Sometimes, I wonder if my heart will break
When I cry, I cry to myself, alone
I keep focused and charge ahead
All the while sleeping alone in our big cold bed
He is my husband, and I am his wife
I couldn’t be prouder of his chosen life
Even as I cry
When I kiss him goodbye
I know what he does, he does for us
To keep us safe and to sleep in peace through the night
It’s hard to not hold him or kiss him goodnight
To not hear I love you and it will be alright
It’s so hard living here on my own
But I know that he will be coming home
I cry myself to sleep each and every night
All the while knowing that he may have to fight
Defending our freedom
In some far away land
I know we will make it, because we are meant to be
I feel it deep down inside when he says he loves me
I think of him every moment of every day
And I know he is thinking of me when he is away
He is my man, this is my life
For I am a soldiers wife.

The Resembling Soul

Somewhere there might have an ocean that I haven’t seen!
Somewhere there might have a tune of soul that I couldn’t hear!
I’m going and going if somewhere long far away!
I’m watching and watching if everything is wrong enough!
I’m not afraid of saying though, “I’m a Human”!
I become failed to know “You are not mine”!
The waiting of your soul for me at tomorrow,
By thinking the memories of you, why I couldn’t sleep yesterday,
Everything is one kind of Resembling Soul!
Imaginary Crying at the door of our hearts!
You would have known though, I am still enough better than you!
Even though, I become drunk when I drink the wine,
Even though, I feel happiness when I take the marijuana!

You might have become a sparrow, what does it come and go?
I might have lost my Nest, what loses does remain?
That sky that is also yours,
Those rivers that will also give me water.
You haven’t even learnt to say, “You love you”!
“You love me”, is it so easy to say?

Somewhere there might have an ocean that I haven’t seen!
Somewhere there might have a tune of soul that I couldn’t hear!
I’m going and going if somewhere long far away!
I’m watching and watching if everything is wrong enough!
I’m not afraid of saying though, “I’m a Human”!

Sleep In

She's got eyes I could fall asleep in
Then dream of while I'm sleeping -
In fact she's probably the reason
That I constantly sleep in

She is the stars in my night sky
She is the air that I breathe in
She may not be the god that I pray to
But she's the faith I believe in.

She's a perfectly grilled steak
I love sinking my teeth in
She's the chance that I took
When I put both of my feet in
She's the dream that I sleep to
And every morning wake up to
Every day that I sleep in

White mushroom clouds dress ivory shades,
Shadow the moonlight,
 peeping in purple,
lighting the darkness in our space,

I watched upon your hour of slumber,
A smile reflected enchanted face,
How much I wish a window to peep,
To share the dream within your sleep,

Herein I see the depth you hide,
Yet shallow the feelings you cannot hide
Then softly to kiss your lips to seal,
The moments slept you shall reveal,

Was it the jewelry or cash.
Is this why we wouldn't last.
Was it the late night disagreements.
That led to so many arguments.
Tell me what was it.
Or what was it.
Was it you or me.
Did this split come because our family.
I do admit sometimes I lied.
So many times I held you in my arms while you cried.
I wiped away your tears and held you so near.
Day in and out I expressed myself to you.
I made sure I was sincerely true.
So many people was envious and jealous.
For some reason did that make us rebellious?
We had our wall that nobody could break down.
We both didn't sleep around.
So please tell me why are you mad.
If you won't tell me I can't sleep I got it bad.
Mind is flowing with so many what if's and what not's.
We was so close and tied together who untied the knot.
Breakups lead to heartaches and headaches.
So please tell me what's our fate.

Until You Return

It’s 4 am
I feign sleep
the room is quiet
it’s only your breathing that I hear
its rhythm is almost hypnotic
it feels safe

the night light of the city
shimmers through the window
the blinds cast linear shadows
almost prison like bars
I count them one by one

I hear the faint rumble of a plane
 in the distance
and I know why I can’t sleep
you’ll be leaving in the morning

I look at the clock
it’s now 4:10
there’s no ticking
clocks don’t tick anymore
I wish they did

just a few minutes left before
some plane will whisk you away
 from me
and I’ll feign sleep each night
until you return

Stealth in the dead of night
His advance afloat evanescent waves
Gliding ever so gently
Hovering on a cloud of velvet
Lurking like a thief
His approach on pervading wafts of gardenia
Stealth in the still of night
Under a hazy moon in a starless sky
The brush of his lips on my eyelids
Disturbs my sleep
In the most delectable way
Nudging my senses
As he slips into my dreams
And invades my world
One breath at a time
Shivering whispers
Barely deciphered
And in the morning
Vanishes not a trace
Lest the faint scent of blue gardenia

Spending the Night in a Temple

Spending the Night in a Temple

The ice rains hard upon the temple walls
As the fires within keep the visitors warm
The 2 brothers deep in a fever lie head to head
And hold hands
A girl raised above them on a cot reads sacred scriptures
Only she can understand
And the ancient grandmother and grandfather hold vigil
Over the shivering boys
The temple keepers bring bowls of food to the weary
As apparitions appear and disappear
In front of the dragon shrine
Another tired band of travelers wander in
Bringing with them a gust of frigid air
And take refuge on mattresses lined against the wall
Everyone gathers closer for warmth
Even the mouse cat braves the human presences
The boys’ fevers rise higher and higher
Hands are held more tightly
The ice falls harder echoing throughout the mountain night
And the entire temple slowly drifts into 1000 years of sleep

Laying around with nothing to do
My thoughts like always, all about you
Wishing that you would give me a call
Telling me that you're not happy at all
You're cold and lonely and need a hug
Can I come over and give you some love
I hit the door running and jump in the car
Set my course by the moon and stars
Drove like a maniac through the night
And I didn't stop at a single red light
You answered the door in your underwear
And pulled me in as I stood and stared
You wrapped both your arms around me
Just like one of those koala's on a tree
Threw me on the bed and jumped on top
And slapped the cuffs on me just like a cop
Took me to the brink and left me there
Then rode me just like a rocking chair
Back and forth all through the night
And doing things that I can't write
And when we're through you're in my arms
That's when I hear the sound of my alarm
Then I wake and can't believe it's true
I'm still laying around just missing you

Sonnet 32 'Sometimes, I wake Up From Sweet Death's Dull Sleep'

Sometimes, I wake up from Sweet Death’s dull sleep,
And find, I’ve not been living as I could,
My friends tell me they tire of seeing me weep…
I feel like I’m a boy, not flesh, but wood…
My nose is growing long, they seem to think,
Although I speak, and mean just what I say,
Some tell me that my promises all stink,
Like broccoli that’s been left out all day.
Well, I’M NOT LIKE THAT! And I don’t agree!
“What seems a lie’s a Promise,” bright Ray* said,
“a need, ramshackle, waiting to be born…”
I think he’s right, and even though he’s dead
I’ll take his words, go charging up the stairs,
And make amends, and show, I’m one who Cares!

*’What seems a lie, is a promise, a ramshackle need, waiting to be born…” – Ray Bradbury

Smile in your sleep

                                           Smile in your sleep

A midnight temptation is in the midst of the stars.
Brightness feeds and eventually consumes the eclipse.
Individuals described as both boy, and female acting very young.
Both separated at birth, yet they roam every night while they sleep.
Yet, one day they met for the first time at North Eastern Heights;
An academic learning center, a school where everyone made memories.
There were plenty of times where Nick had football memories.
Niki was dreaming of one day becoming one of those famous movie stars.
Both would have been fabulous careers, but neither climbed the heights.
Thursday, the day Nick and Niki had both looked at each other like an eclipse.
Tossing, turning all night, the two wish to dream of each other, but cant sleep.
Both wanted love, both wanted money, both wanted to be forever young.

Smiling at both their baby pictures, Nick and Niki looked oh so young.
Nick asked Niki to be his homecoming date and one of his fondest memories.
Both looked at each other, gazing in their eyes, so boring one could sleep.
That night at the dance, the two acted as if they were dancing with the stars.
Boys and girls attending the dance made up a color wheel of a shining eclipse.
Nick and Niki were on top of the world; they couldn’t fall off the heights

At the end of their senior year, it was graduation at North Eastern Heights.
These were the days they realized that they couldn’t be forever	young.
That no parts of all life are going to be as shining as an Eclipse
Even they, remember the things we hate too keep as part of our memories.
The only thing of there young adulthood that didn’t change was the stars.
Nick and Nicki gazed upon stars all-night, and smiled in their sleep.

Both they lay, laying down on the comfort mattress, smiling in their sleep
Dreaming they both do, climbing the Appalachian mountain heights.
Camping by a fire in the mountain range the only thing present was stars;
One of the last things they saw was an owl, it’s cooing as a young.
The two lovers will always be remembered just as memories.
And suddenly it was all gone; the dream went away as fast as an eclipse

A looming eclipse-
All alone, how can I sleep?
She’s gone, my erased memories.
I fell off the heights.
We were so perfect and young.
We were a pair, just like stars.
Forever the stars-
They enjoyed being so young
Sometimes we all fall off heights.

- Sleep My Darling -

Through the open window strokes a light summer wind
  Lightweight summer curtains flap
The sky with beautiful stars - shiny pearls
I feel your breath against my forehead
  Pillow by pillow
I was just listening to the night sounds
A night of poetry be close
A full moon night under the stars shine
My love of mystery and imagination
Promise me you dream of me
When you sleep I kiss you gently

Sleep Peacefully My Love

Rest soundly my love, and peacefully too,
Know that through the night's hours I will be here with you.
May sweet dreams invade your head,
As you sleep soundly in our marriage bed.
Whilst you dream,
Dream of only me.
Dream of the soft hands that hold you close,
Let your world be colored by the tints of rose...
And hear only soft whispers spoken softly in prose.
But if you should begin to quake in fright,
Be reassured that I shall be here to hold you tight.
I shall move my lips across your cheek,
And dry the tears that doth streak.
Hopefully you will sleep peacefully with me here,
Just knowing I am near.
So sleep easily and know that when you open your beautiful eyes,
I will be here with you, our hands and hearts forever entwined.

Watching you

Your eyes never opened after that last long kiss

You pulled the dark curtain of sleep about you

Your body fitted against mine in perfect configuration

And your hand upon my arm about you

We always fitted well in all things

What was it that you said?

“Do you know why God put those spaces between your fingers?”

And when I shrugged, you fitted your fingers between mine.

Watching you alone with yourself within your slumber

I came to realize that love can only be appreciated

When we imagine what we would be without it

And in that moment of my pondering

I discovered many things.

Your touch was more profound than a million hands in applause

And touching toes to be sure you were there

Was a communication far superior to internet

I determined then that a kiss was indeed a luxury

And a moonlight whisper has more power

Than all the chants of protest across the world

Walking hand-in-hand had far more meaning

Than any three car garage

And your head resting upon my shoulder

Lightened all the weights of a troublesome life

And without you life itself would fade into obscurity

The complexities of life never altered the simplicity of us

We drove 200 kilometers just to eat at The Fat Duck at Bray

We camped overnight in the ruins of the old Cathar castle

In the hills beyond Limoux where we found the cave

And when your father welcomed us into his home

But commanded that I sleep in a separate room

You told him, “He is my life now, you must understand”

And we slept at the Albergo al Viale and drank wine at breakfast

And all the wonders of my life were there

Lost in that nocturnal womb where I could not go

And when moonlight filtered through the limbs of trees

And decided to dance upon your face

I also learned that God could promise me nothing more

For my salvation was beside me and the gates of heaven

Opened with your eyes of morning

And my soul would come home again for another day

Sleep In My Arms Lullaby

The somnolent skies have ceased seething, for day’s nearly through
And the winds echo whispering thoughts of returning to you.
The heavens throb, pulsing and bleeding in crimsons, once blue,
Their passions, like flames, fill my veins as you pass into view;
The breeze holds its breath as you touch and embrace me anew
And smouldering clouds withdraw, blushing, then paling their hue.

The twilight is painted with wandering dreams of your charms
So close your eyes slowly and slip into sleep in my arms.

The pendulous moon appears, sweeping the fog from up high
Distilling the drops into notes of a hushed lullaby,
The quavering tunes unfold tales which amaze, mystify,
The stories they tell reflect love as revealed by your sighs,
And tremulous stars fling a fire that fevers the skies,
Their fury is burning, alive in the depths of your eyes.

The twilight is painted with wandering dreams of your charms
So close your eyes slowly and slip into sleep in my arms.

The lonely shore’s moaning, seduced by tempestuous tides
Which flow with the rhythm of flesh as our senses collide,
A quiet explodes in the stillness of night amplified,
A lingering kiss bids adieu till the morning breaks wide
When cockerels come conjuring dawn with voluptuous pride
Enticing the sun into scything the night, starry-eyed.

The twilight is painted with wandering dreams of your charms
So close your eyes slowly and slip into sleep in my arms.
