A Gift of Love

Around my mom, I always felt my guilt
My conscience seem to always take her side
Some years ago, I gave her a new quilt
I still recall the tears of joy she cried

My gift of love to warm her nights with pride
It's hand sewn patches in a ring design
It showed up at my door after she died
Inside a plain brown box tied with used twine

And though there was no note, I read her mind
She knew the message sent would be received
A gift of love, to warm, when life's unkind
She once made quilts to give to those in need

Her gift of love with message plain to see
She knew the one in need, this time... was me.

Critical Liaisons

A poets dream, she'll seduce with her eyes, pens will desire to praise her charming guise, but be cautious, she'll treat you like her book, explore each chapter with her detailed look. Drain your ink, smoking pages in to fire, drink your spirit like blood thirsty vampire. But now it seems she may have met her match, a poet who's heart, she's struggling to snatch. He holds scriptures, she's never read before, each musing, leaves her yearning to feel more. A heart breaker, who gives no man a chance, dream maker, who leaves women in a trance. A modern day Samson and Delilah - spiritual soulmate who could tame her.

Pleasures of Reading

It pleasures me
That she reads me
Inside her serenity
Parked on our bench of antiquities

I, whom gazes over there at her,
Later in the dusk of candlelight
Shall remove her pink dress
Tiss then
I shall see she derives her pleasures
As I read her

Sweetest Love Note

One night a guy & a girl were
driving home from the movies. The
boy sensed there was
something wrong because of the painful
silence they shared between them
that night. The girl then asked the boy to pull over
because she wanted to talk. She told him that her
feelings had changed & that it was time to move on.
A silent tear slid down his cheek as he
slowly reached into his pocket & passed her a folded note.
At that moment, a drunk driver was speeding down
that very same street. He swerved
right into the drivers seat, killing the boy.
Miraculously, the girl survived. Remembering the note, she
pulled it out & read it.
"Without your love, I would die."

My Brother

Livers
	bleed

lungs
	gasp for breath

vessels of poetry
	read

pain disappears
	tears recede

love floats above the sea
	tides of sadness

recede
	planted in marshlands

seeds
	friendship bloomed

living for words
	no longer matters

I embrace my brother
	love his might

standing on cliffs ledge
	gazing this new morn

softly I whisper
	we are one

At a Crossroads a Poet Is Born

I hold my papers and pen
not a poetry to write
it is the school year again
one other journey in time.

My ever burning concern
would my words find their way
as all my candles I burn
to meet yearning faces each day.

A thirst for light in young hearts
I lend my soul, the blanks I fill
and then a whole story starts
quenching feels would be a thrill.

When my pupils take my notes
would they read devotion in many a line
my fear, a quote or a word floats
my quill unveiled in heart shrine.

I hold my pen with great zeal
two paths I walk, a heart is torn
my love how can I conceal
at a crossroads, a poet is born.

Moon Captured By Her Spells

Blue skies and rainbows

Science fiction and fables

Poetess and poet are making love

She’s writes the verses to undress me

Great lines that flower in her hair

Her lips of ink are red and rosy

Each stanza goes straight to my head

I want to read and read her

Over and over

Every day, any time

From cover to cover

She writes of loneliness and sorrow

Of broken hearts that never mend

She is the dream I need each morning

Moon captured by her spells

I want to read and read her

Over and over

Every day, any time

From cover to cover

Blue skies and rainbows

Science fictions and fables

Poetess and poet are making love

Angel Love

Angel Love

There is a rose named angel face,
In lavender she blooms with grace.
When I admire her sweet splendor
I recall your love so tender

Keeping watchful eyes over me,
And answering with love my plea
For your help, when I am in need,
Contrasting miracles indeed!

Though unseen, I feel your presence
In aura of Divine essence.
My soul yearns to meet you in kind
So grateful you can read my mind;

Lift my burdens, leave shoulders bare,
I could not live without your care.
What a blessing you are to me!
You have my love eternally.

The Truth of Love - POTD

The truth is cruel,
a blurred reality.
The truth is in my heart
carefully hidden from prying eyes.
Don't sigh my friend,
you cannot read it in my face,
'tis well concealed, rest assured
as a secret newly found,
hid from curious eyes.

So, I hide my truth,
I do it on purpose,
keep it veiled for it is mine.
Don't ask: a futile plea.

I once told the truth
that led to a beleaguered life.
Ah, I had high hopes then.
Now I've had enough.
I keep my secret.
A pack of ravening wolves
gnawing at my insides
will never pry away
that which I carefully hide.

Which really is a pity,
for 'tis agony for me
not to reveal openly
the love I harbor for ye.

Teacher's Pet

As I look back, it all seems funny now
Recalling all those awkward teen age years
I pushed the limits farther than allowed
Supposedly when young, we had no fears

Infatuation caught me with the blues
My heart was swollen by love's gentle sting
It was a crush that only left a bruise
Left by the diamond in her wedding ring

The first day I laid eyes on her, I fell
The lightning bolt she was, that shook my world
And to this day I swear I'd know her smell
Could she have read my mind, she'd likely hurled

I hated school but never missed her class
She said she loved me 'cause I made her laugh

Poems For My Alien Abductors: a Ride Into Space

I thought I could wow them with poems from earth
Poems of joy and humor, poems extolling it’s worth
So I laid out poems from Michael, Gail, and me
From Andrea, David, Gwen, and Ilene
From PD, Harry, Mandy, and Chris
From Jack, Craig, Cyndi, and Liz…
For I was sure once they read our beautiful works
They would embrace us and love our humanly quirks!
So last night I taped them all over my skin
Knowing they’d find them if they took me again…

When I woke up, they were gone and I had a reply:
“We enjoyed reading those poems last night,
And thanks for the names of the earthlings too -
We have many more experiments to do!”

Love In Poetry

How do I write my love in poetry? Spin it around a needle’s company I succumb to the wishes that’s displayed Straight into my heart, a bed that is made Words that focus not on the worldly things Making love formed by surely everything Almost all my chimed poetry is filled Tinging of the bells on my window sill My poems flow from my pen to your head Allowing even the strange come to bed Obstinate people combined with some change Must read of my love, they will rearrange My lovely other, sits upon the throne Love ties us as one, prepares what is known Russell Sivey

Love Is Not and Love Is

Love is a small big word Many times written but easily mispelled All ears can hear it All eyes can read it but few will feel it Only the special ones will understand this four letter word which makes all the difference when we walk hand in hand.

Hopes and Wishes

A wish is hope, all dressed up
A heart that needs to sing...
And I have 3 songs today,
Hopes and wishes, that I bring...

I wish yesterday was today
So I could change some things...
I seem so much wiser now,
A different song I'd sing...

I wish I had the power
To make my fellows see...
That hate wont set the table,
But love is always free

I wish that I could write a poem
That everyone would read...
Something with a message,
To plant a fruitful seed

We all would like to think
That magic might come our way...
And that some Genie just might grant,
Our hopes and wishes for today

India

I read with greed John Master's books,
to Indian culture introduced.
I grew to love a distant land;
by her allure I was seduced.

To Indian culture introduced,
I felt the urge to go and see
the striking beauty of her face,
the charms bestowed abundantly.

I grew to love a distant land
where the traditions are held high,
religion, races, culture, tongues
are deep-ingrained - will never die.

By her allure I was seduced,
this vibrant country in the east.
I plan to take a closer look
and let my eyes in wonder feast.

There's a place whence children dwell amid fairy stories, popcorn rainbows & candied unicorns, which is fine & dandy except when you're supposed to be a grown-*** adult, some people live 'round La-La landscapes without a hint of reality's woefulness, unable to read skywriting on the cosmos If you believe in miracles or that nothing ever changes and love lasts forever and a day or just say, you got a damn ticket because your unicorn was inconveniently double-parked, rest assured thine meter is delusional

You Live In Me

I shall live in your legend to make
A new spirit now wholly begotten;
For in death, your memory will not forsake
Those words in my soul that are not forgotten.
Your face glows immortal in my heart to save
Even me, for I go too where all must die;
When I would sleep alone in a silent grave
With my love entombed, there you lie.
Your memory will be my triumphant verse
Which my mind has not created yet to read;
And a voice will sing of you to rehearse
Words of praise when the world must heed.
In me you live by the touch of my pen
And I breathe in you through the mouths of men.

You Are Blessed

I called to the Lord and my voice,
Echoed down Thy golden corridor.
My sorrowful voice resonated,
Ripples of painful airwaves,
Across the divine exosphere.
And in the midst of my darkness,
Shadows mean the light is near.

He came from His throne to me,
His warmth touched my caramel skin.
I was in the presence of the Lord
And I spoke...to the most high.

I asked what cannot be regained,
His reply was: the stone, after it’s cast,
The word, after it’s spoken...and time, after it’s gone.
And He granted my request to bless the eyes,
That read...this modest poem...

What can be said
about this man
One that is not easy to be read.
His words come to life
Pen to paper
With poetry to his wife
A loving father indeed
Nothing else like it
Teaching and giving all they need.
Mysterious is he
What's in his head
Is he thinking about me
He's not perfect
Mistakes have been made
Things I know he'll correct
He's my best friend
the one I married
A love that will never end
He has been mine
For quite some time
I find he is still so divine.

Do With Heart

If only for a moment our love bloomed,
If only for a spell we would consume.
My heart torn open I bear a deep wound,
To be thy Sun and you to be my Moon.

Alas, my dear, we were not meant to be,
For there is no future for us at all.
But, don't read into my words completely,
Because I still answer to nature's call.

Does a flower turn its petals away?
In the day when the Sun is out to shine?
For what is the reason that children play?
The reason that the poet writes his line?

We know deep inside, we all must take part,
And whatever that may be, do with heart!

My Favourite Songs

I saw you across the room
You were with my best friend
Dancing to a slow song -Harvest Moon
You held her tightly in your arms
Then planted a passionate kiss
Oh Its My Party and i will cry if I want to
Cry if I want to and I did

I was deeply hurt and shocked
If You Could Read My Mind
You would know my hurtful thoughts
Oh my heart aches so badly
So your friend came up to me
He spoke calmly softly
He called me Blue Angel
Said he would never leave me
Feelings he had for me was strongBlue Bayyou

Strong feelings for me
He said "Together we would go
to the BlueBayou where the
sailboats go a float int Blue Bayou
