Revelation in the Rain

She briskly walks in January’s rain, which drums the endless rhythm of her pain, pulling closer round her shoulder in the downpour the leather jacket he so often wore. Another day like this she can remember when he had worn the jacket, and against her he’d pressed as they stood kissing in the rainfall. The world could wash away; he was her all! No storm could stop their loving as they raced with great anticipation to his place. Before they’d even reached the bedroom door, they’d flung their rain-soaked clothes along the floor. Underneath the sheets, though cold and wet, they madly kissedHe was as passionate as winter’s storm away from which they’d run, and yet he warmed her like sweet summer’s sun! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She‘s almost home; the rain has nearly died. She thinks of all the nights she lay and cried. While thinking how the rainstorm’s cold still lingers, inside the jacket’s pockets she moves her fingers. In the lining of one pocket, her fingers meet a crumpled piece of paper - an old receipt - its date from when, without a word, he’d left their town and in the city, by a drunk had got run down. The piece of paper gives her now a revelation- A high class jewelry store had been his destination. He’d planned to ask her very soon to be his wife. and bought a ring there on that last day of his life! His parents gave his jacket to her, yet she’d always guessed the worst for why he’d left. What happened to the ring? She cannot know. But now her tears with bitter sweetness flow. For Silent One's 'Love for movie screens' Poetry Contest

It Rained That Day

Soft autumn rain..
cascading over brightly colored cherry blossoms,
releasing a sweet scent of aromatic aphrodisiac
A fragrance of springtime love blowing in the gentle autumn wind
Our two hearts made a vow that day
We promised to fall in love anew
each day all over again
Fall madly in love a thousand times
every twenty-four hour spin
As the light, misty rain came down,
meeting our joyous laughter rising up to the clouds
Two lovebirds being purified,
two souls now joined together
as husband and wife
It rained gently that beautiful day
The maple and evergreen trees
greeted us with a mélange of bright promise,
of an ever evolving love that would last a lifetime
We beheld the colors of change all around us,
holding hands as our lives were changing as well
Upon the lifting of her white veil,
our eyes kissed and our lips looked
for no more words than two
I do
After a pregnant pause, we added another..
I love you
Then we ran outside,
and frolicked like two little children
Me tugging at her beautiful, African zakiya dress,
she tossing aside my African kente vest
And when we pressed our cheeks together,
the soft autumn rain began to fall.and we too were falling
more in love
I remember so well:
how it rained that day,
how gently the autumn rain fell

The Universe of You

I have never seen a flower blush when I took it's hue and held it there a prisoner captive to my view. I have always heard the song that's in the autumn breeze playing taps in harmony with the forest leaves. I love the smell of rain that brings the springtime into bud and swells my love of nature into a teeming flood. I celebrate the cycle of the daytime into night and find an equal blessing in the shadow and the light. I've always felt affinity for all created things and surrender to the pleasure that their beauty brings. And though I could spent a lifetime sailing drops of dew I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you. I've often sat myself by gentle mountain streams and overflowed the dams that were holding back my dreams. I've breathed the scented forest on the mountainside and washed away my sorrows in an evening ocean tide. I've laid down in a meadow and debated with the moon and spent some quiet moments on the surface of Neptune. I got married to a zodiac with one of Saturn's rings then spied a super nova and went on a cosmic fling. I've run away to nebulae in galaxy brochures and bathed in scenes of wonders on distant planet shores. Every cosmos in creation could parade before my view but I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you. I've never seen a tree once withdraw it's shade and deny a creature the comfort of its aid. I've never seen any anger in the sun at noon when it burns relentlessly on the desert dune. At sunrise I take an oath to live with all my might and reinforce my gratitude each and every night. I could spend some hours riding on a crystal flake drifting wildly in a gale mindless of my fate. Many times I've been through trials of wind and rain and snow then sentenced to the splendors that the seasons show. And though I've searched throughout creation, I must say this is true I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.

Kiss the Rain

I stand here by the lakeshore, and I smell
fresh honeysuckle as I kiss the rain.
A memory that I cannot curtail
wafts bitter sweetly to me, and again
it’s Maythe night you came by the moon's light.
The air was permeated by perfume
from blossoms colored innocently white.
But now it’s summer; yellow is each bloom.
When plump upon the vines, sweet berries, red,
will be swooped up by birds - carried away.
I stoop to touch a stem How soon has fled
my flowered youth, and now this day chilled grey,
I bow in downpour like the vines bent low
while raindrops - glistening with my own tears - flow.

Summer Rain

I wade into the surf and stand alone,

Enfolding in my arms, the dust of You,

I hear the raving wind lament and moan,

As if the summer storm is mourning, too..

I breathe your wispy ashes as they're thrown,

And whisper your name softly while I do,

I lost you once, and now I've lost again..

As all my tears are lost.in summer rain.

Gentle Summer Rain

She writes about Fall's beauty in the rain
The falling raindrops' dance ascribing thence
Bespoken verse that lightens her refrain
before the time they met - her steps commence

She listens to the soft and rhythmic thrum,
her love turned to escape and cloudy string
Where nimbus mistletoe fell, tears to become
Their kiss of Autumn was symbolic ring

The first light cotton mists with summer rays
While skyward cheerful laughs adorn the land,
their ceremonial dance diffuses grays,
affectionate embrace, where dreams expand

Upon September's sky the raindrops gleam
With half of hidden Sun to laugh and beam.

The Sands of Love

Two statues of stone
On pedestals in the park
One male
One female
White objects of a perfections beauty
Yet they stood erect and alone
When the rain fell
This was their tears
The stared at each other with longing
The trees grew tall
Season by season the flowers bloomed
Two statues standing erect in the prison of life's hold

A poet walked in the park
Glancing at lovers, kisses at dusk
He stared at the statues above his head
He knew, with dread, the loneliness of stone maidens
He waited for the park to become enclosed in the twilight
With toil and sweat he did succeed on his lark
Pushing the statues close rather than apart
As one statue danced and the other one sang
They kissed the sweetness of night and felt the tears of joy
All because a poet
Wished them a lovers embrace
He knew them like they were his children
For here he was as well
A statue
In love

Crimson Rain

On a still...ancient horizon, Massive dragon wings emerge, To the atmospheric battlefield Where two legendary beasts, Clash for the love...of a dragoness. A battle of mythic proportions, Of two stonily serpents in the sky. Only three dragons remain, The two wary warriors, And the dragoness they fight for. The flap of enormous wings, Thunders the air abroad. The fire in the sky illustrates, That the battle has begun. Fierce deafening roars, Rape the quiet Delphi skies. In a solemn brave attempt, To win the dragoness’ heart. She rests...nestled in the mountains, For the winning warrior’s return. Strident screams pierce the heavens, From the vicious violent brutality. Aggressive attacks resonate, Vibrating her lair of stone, As she shivers in despair and wonder. Sharp talons pierce the scales, Shredding the tissue of life. Effervescent mists spray, Staining the clouds with gore. A thud hits the landscape, And her attentive attention reacts. Waiting with complete ambition, A second thud thumps the landscape. Curious eyes creep from the cave, She wrestles with the thought of extinction, As both...her warriors are slain, Laying lifelessly...in a crimson rain.

Dancing in the Rain -- ALS

Sitting in a house a home
Across from a husband and a wife

I look at her
Saddens fills the orbs of her dark eyes
Her breathing short shallow inhalations
Panic and fear waiting to pounce
My heart pleads for her be strong

I look at him
His eyes bright projecting confidence, love
Strapped into his wheelchair
This once mighty man
Is trapped in a body that betrayed him

I close my computer
Finished dreams shared
Hope and desires expressed
A way forward captured
Time for me to go

But the questions remain
Life Death Why?
Why him?
His family?
Why?

I hear strokes on a keyboard
A mechanical voice vibrates from small speakers
“May I pray?”
This broken man is not done
I close my eyes feeling the moisture leaking out

“Greet each day with a smile”
“Dance in the rain”
“Embrace love and rejoice”
“Be strong and fear not”
“There is victory over death”
“Life Eternal life!”

This broken man with the unbroken spirit
Is ministering to me, to his family
Dying but still concerned for the living
What an incredible love, a powerful faith
Living and dying well

Listening to his typing, I realize
I have no power over the eternal questions
Of life of death
But God does
This limitation of my humanity is NOT
So I can wallow in despair – NO!
But so I can hope in God!

Thank-you my dear friend
I will never forget you
Your words of hope and love
Your faith
Dancing in the rain.

Note: My friend died six months after this meeting.

I am not a rain dog
With my tail between my legs
Dying to run home in haste
Away from showers that gradually increase
And then come pounding heavily down
Like sheets of splintered pearly glass

I am not a loner
Who leads a wasted life
On doorsteps sharing aching pain
With others who live rough
Deprived of warmth and comfort

I am a lover
I inhale the smell
Enjoy the caressing feel
Of seductive teasing raindrops

They fall around
With sweetest sound
Passionate the call

It echoes
I hear

water

Waiting in the rain

I remember how you looked that day
The morning, you went away
I remember everything you said
I could not speak just softly breath away

Upon the shore, about to leave
There were just too many voices in my head
It was the first day of a morning spring
A cold chill the moment on that day

I stood and watched you with a smile
I never saw you without a thing to say
As we stand today close for a while
Your warm body comforts me so today

I know in a cool springtime rain
I think of you, once more again
I’ll never know why, I could not say
Just how hard it was for me that day

The words are now frozen on my lips
As I stood on the dock alone that day
And I watched as you slowly drifted away
Watching from a veil’s hidden rips

The chill of the cold won’t lose its grip
And hangs from my neck like a chain
To think of you just once more again
And how warm you felt in the cold dark rain

I don’t think I will ever know
And how fast the time did go
I will always feel deep in my heart
We were just never meant to part

Soul mates never go, so here I am again
As I await in the cold spring morning rain
Knowing you will be back with me again
As I leave my cold body in the rain

rose-colored passion

it's raining again,
been this way for days;
swirls of graying clouds
hiding the blue of skies
and my eyes

my lips
seem wetter
than everything else
that rises
without sun,

the river's rising again,
perhaps higher than my own ego
as i lose myself
in the pockets of current.

current, and past events
build this dam
against what it is
that i love,

damn her
and them the same.

i lay, head down,
drowning
in the only breath i know

your chest
rising
and falling
between the sighs
that bridges
together
reality and dreams,

and i'm not giving up my last breath
through any of these storms
that fall from winded words,

instead, i'll keep breathing
deeper and deeper
attuned with your own breath,
as we make love, reality
from dreams

last night,
i saw a rainbow
through your eyes
and i settled myself
deeper in your heart
long before
you ever drifted off to sleep

this morning,
your gentle touch,
the arousal
of my dreams,
becomes the sun
through rose-colored passion,
and love again blossoms
blending all that is real
from little pockets of rain.

Wonderfully Wet

Lost, deep, among the grasses of the dunes

A summer shower rinsed us, sweet and warm

As, breathing in my ear, your steamy runes

I tasted drops of sea mist from your form

Our late-day passions ended as the storm

Was blushed to silence by the melting sun

The swirling stars, like fireflies in a swarm

Told painted clouds the evening had begun

And by a waking moon.our lover's dreams were spun.

Simple Mutterings - only the rain answers

in my dream he watches and I feel his desire
his need and I fear it, yet something lures me
I sense him in my dark room and feel confusion
it overwhelms me, I can hear his breathing close

he whispers my name, it comes violently like thunder
looking into his fathomless eyes I see love and hate
then his lips are crushing mine, it is obsession
he is evil, he is love, he is desire, he is cruelty

go away, come back, I love you, I hate you
he wraps his arms around me, oh the memory
then the dream fades and I am left crying
why does he haunt me but only the rain answers

Rain

The fact of losing you wasn't that much devastatingYou evaporated too fast like waterAnd so it didn't give me affrightI know you're like water, you'll precipitate one day

And so, that one day came by destinyI was in my room when it rained pieces of youI went outside and felt the touch I've missed for somehow a long timeI enjoyed your every drop, the petrichor and the moist

I badly wanted you backI longed for the water which drowns me in loveThe water that gives me life every time I'm dehydratedThe water that forgives whoever I amOnly if I could collect all of your pieces and bring you back to my life forever, without you being gone once moreBut I know, it will never happen

For now, I enjoy your unexpected visits and perchance sojournsI relish your every comingIn that way, I still manage to have you, even though I know you have to evaporate again.

Stormy Love

Baby girl, it seems like you have been gone forever,
I want you here by my side, 'cause we belong together,
You lift me off of my feet, you got me flying like a feather,
Floating in the atrocious storm, but only your smile can change my weather,
I find myself laying down just eye-balling the phone,
'Cause your lovely warm voice, keeps me from being alone,
I try calling you, but all i hear is voice mails and dial tones,
Missing you hurts my heart, like an emotion-packed cyclone,
And that very violent storm, is not enough to take down my love pillars,
Not even death, nothing in this galaxy will be my love's killer,
My love for you is strong, it can overcome any obstacles,
The stormy rain rolls off my face, and drips just like a Popsicle,
And i start to touch myself, but yet my body's all dry,
The rain didn't affect me, and i know the reason why,
'Cause even though we're millions of miles apart,
I will forever and always belong to your heart,
Nothing in the world would make me depart,
From the heart of my lover, that i loved from the start.

Within Her Arms

Southern breezes serenade the canopy
swaying the branches and tickling the leaves
spilling light drops of splendor embracing me

Liquid comfort consoling a fading breath
again feeling alive securely within her arms
fighting off a long drought in the face of death

Fleeting the memories danced through the rain
unguarded two souls were soaked in affection
thoughts and touches one couldn't contain

Joys shared together can never depart
A moment but brief sits in this heart

Black Rain

~BLACK RAIN~

Another rainy stormy night,
nothing will ever feel the same.
Thunder makes me fear with fright,
Theirs no way to call your name.
To be alone is no delight,
here I am alone with shame.
It runs trough me like day and night,
lonesome here for playing my game.
I wish you were here to hold me real tight.
Forgive me for I am the only one to blame.

A darken rainy stormy night!
Here I whither away in the BLACK RAIN!
In that selfish moment, I did not realize,
all I was doing was causing myself pain.
You took and shook me with a big surprise!
And, showed me that my cheating had nothing to gain.
With you in distance I lose myself,
sitting all alone in the BLACK RAIN.

BLACK RAIN, BLACK RAIN!
Please stop the pain, it's my love I want to gain.

Tears from me you wouldn't take.
It was my fault to take the fall.
It does not mean my love to you was fake.
Without you I feel real small.
The hurt runs deep~Deeper than a lake!
The hurt runs high~Higher than the tallest wall!
The hurt is heavy~something you can't shake!
The hurt is like a mystery~you can't solve at all!
BLACK RAIN!
How this cloud passes my days,
I have no one to blame
If I knew exactly what to say,
I would not be feeling all this pain.
BLACK RAIN,
is here to stay!
I have lost what took long to gain.

BLACK RAIN, BLACK RAIN,
please go away!
I want my lover to come back my way.

AMIDST POUNDS OF FORCE and FURY

AMIDST POUNDS OF FORCE and FURY Conscious cold clouds sweeping, killing softly the suns bright, romancing evocatively with the winds, aghast it blows! Blows! Gray to black are the skies shadowsShafts of light longer, they tantalize in between blows joined clear by a decibel bang! Frightened golden grains for harvest, helpless! They bend down and so are the piteous bushes, unashamed, waving their arms as if crying out for immediate rescue but no one is there... Drops to dagger liquid sequins fall heavily unto them nonstop. Amidst pounds of force and fury from the natural forces, I, glad to be cocooned by the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest. Wrapped tight to his arms, my heart is soaking with contentment, his drizzling caresses flood my nerves, I am all giddy inside... ________________________________________________________________ ***Picture #2 6:00 pm, November 19, 2015

An Epic Battle With A Simple Question

A beautiful heart pines from afar. To parallel freedom, we choose our master. In Love, the Dragon and Unicorn are! Celestial winged heart beats faster, Over mountain and ocean meet polar eyes. To parallel freedom, we choose our master. Embarking from sun brewed and moonshine skies Two alien races, in war, collide. Over mountain and ocean meet polar eyes. All brothers' swords raise, marching with pride. Sisters of heaven let feathers fly. Two alien races, in war, collide. The angered clouds rain blood from the sky. A new path finally found. Sisters of heaven let feathers fly. Brothers' swords low now to the ground. A beautiful heart pines from afar. A new path finally found. In Love, the Dragon and Unicorn are! In universe Out bound energy Where are we when we die?

Nothing But This

Furnace pink roses blushed on your cheeks,
I held my breath when I saw you there,
Stood in the sand in a gossamer dress,
That clung to your form as the breeze caught your hair.

Bruises of rain clouds filled up your eyes,
I held you close when your spirits were low,
The feel of your skin was electrically cool
As the rain swept your face and your eyes were aglow.

I’m just a chancer who stood in your path,
I borrowed the beat of your heart just for me,
I still feel your skin in that gossamer dress
As the sun fell behind you and sank in the sea.

And I never found one last moment to spare,
I gave not one second to grant one last kiss,
But when you close your eyes I pray I’ll be there,
There’s nothing else for it, nothing but this.

I'll Come to You

When you’re feeling sad or lonely
your heart swelling with the pain
stand beside the nearest window
I will come to you in the rain.

When you hear the clap of thunder
and bright lightning fills the lane
wait for tap of raindrop patter
I will come to you in the rain.

Think of me in this dark prism
my head hanging as in shame
Feel my heart beating wildly
as I come to you in the rain.

When rain drops bead on glass
press you lips to the windowpane
I’ll be waiting, ever waiting
with sweet kisses in the rain.

Two hearts beating with the rhythm
of the raindrops hushed refrain
two hearts eager, crying, sighing
forever together in the rain.

Rain Song

Listen for me in the rain -
The rhythm never changes
The music stays the same
Listen for me in the rain -
It's as constant as the sunrise
The panacea for your pain

If I'm gone and you're weary
If your tears are cried in vain
If you need to know I love you..

Throw wide your windows to the storm
And listen for me singing in the rain.

Listen for me in the rain -
A soft and certain cadence
A temperate refrain
Listen for me in the rain -
The fluid flow of harmony
The pattern unrestrained

If I've left and you're hurting
If your heart is sore again
If you need to know I'm near you..

Just turn your face up to the sky
And listen for my voice within the rain.

Listen for me in the rain -
The movement of the water, sweet
As droplets fall arranged
Listen for me in the rain -
The gentle running metre
Its patter on the panes

If you and I are parted
          If your sorrows still remain
If you need to know I love you..

Just turn off all the sounds of life
And listen for my song inside the rain

Listen for me in the rain -
Nature's soothing melody
The atmospheric strain
Listen for me in the rain -
A wash of heaven's teardrops
As swollen clouds complain

If I'm no longer with you
If you need me to explain
If I need to reassure you..

Just remember all the life it brings
                    Feeding rivers, lakes and springs
                    Remember you're my everything..

And listen for me singing in the rain
The rain and I will always sing..

CRY OUT LOVES RAIN

SONNET – LOVE’S RAIN

A heart once filled with kindness and desire,
echoed the emptiness of lonesome days,
dampened by the rain to simmer the fire
that with eager passion once burned ablaze.

I cry out love‘s rain to feel hope once more,
to spark that flame to feel with compassion,
as in the past, another to adore,
to mend a broken heart; burnt and ashen.

Would she come to me if she heard my cries,
cries of rain pouring from a brittle heart.
Dry my crestfallen soul and tearful eyes,
with a promise never to be apart.

Come hither my dream to escape the rain,
fill my heart with love; make me feel again.

Walk Of Love

The dark clouds threatened rain in the late evening sky.
They decided to take an umbrella in order to stay dry.
Their happiness was evident on each others face.
As they eagerly tucked an arm around each others waist.

Their conversation was easy as they matched each others stride.
Their eyes lit with glee from the love they felt inside.
They smiled at each other as the summer rain began to fall.
No where on earth they rather be, a special glance said it all.

They stopped upon a bridge as lightening streaked the sky.
Thunder rumbling loudly made the girl hug tighter her guy.
The rain falling heavily now dancing in the river below.
They shared a tender kiss, neither afraid to let their feelings show.

The summer rainstorm suddenly ended as quickly as it began.
In time for an amazing sunset, the first shared by this woman and man.
A smiling mother nature must have thought what else could she bestow.
For in the sky a crescent moon appeared and a spectacular rainbow.

They both knew that this shared experience was a rare one indeed.
Both realizing their love is magical and that they better take heed.
To let a special love like theirs slip away would be such a crime.
For true love is precious and comes around only once in a lifetime.

`Let us forever continue this "Walk of Love".
