When the piano bleeds pain

It's 3 am,
her pillow soaked in regret.
Loss has left her spirit lonesome,
darkness a definition of insanity.

In the silence of the night,
vexatious voices vibrate inside
her somber state of mind.

Restless, she sits at her proverbial piano,
as a plethora of pain bleeds through
her fingers onto ebony and ivory keys.
Rain drops drip from her eyes,
unable to contain the sorrows in her heart.

In perfect harmony with her faithful piano,
her heartache performs the perfect poetic personification,
echoing a serenade of melancholic melodies.

Her whole body is numb, but the
music mesmerises her mind, as memories
of her prophetic protagonist persist.

Her souls sighs, as she sings; "If only you could see the pain, maybe then you would explain, what do you think you will gain, from my mind going insane? It seems like you don't care, tell me how is that fair? You'll say it's you and not me, because you're too blind to see, only your love can set me free, but you say it's not meant to be. It seems like you don't care, tell me how is that fair? Oh my love, is this goodbye? Your silence makes my heart cry. Within the deepness of each sigh, I will always question why."

I Need Your Help Daddy

I’m tired
I’m Physically and Emotionally tired
I don’t want to be the strong one anymore
I can’t this time
I don’t know what to do Daddy
I need your help down here

I can’t get back in control of my emotions
I’m having a hard time dealing with your absence
I’m having a hard time standing by myself
I need your help Daddy

I’m broken and lost without you Daddy
I need your will to want to carry on
I need your strength to over come this
I need your strength to stay standing
Your courage to fight back again
I need your help

Please Daddy I’m at a loss
How am I suppose to do this
I need your guidance
I need you to guide me back
To whom I was before
I need your help Daddy
I need your help

Lonely Dreams

I never knew following dreams could be this lonely,
But up on the hill, looking back, thank God I'm not the old me.
If the tears will fall, let them be;
I believe this is God's plan, follow your dreams.

Love Notes in a Bottle

Love Notes in a Bottle

It came as a last meandering thought
How could I know?
Maybe a thousand years from now
On a far away shore
Would exist a lady of mystical lore
Reciting sonnets of medieval tales
In magic forests, dreaming of love
As I love
Who could feel a bond so delicate as a doves feathers
A pain so strong, like a tiger wronged
That to part would mean emotional low tides to come

That she could feel the loneliness of night
The scent of the morning dew
The feeling of rain upon ones breast
The smell of the rose
The view of the meadows
The Laughter as the children danced
The plea of one whose heart bleeds
The desires to capture love and yet remain free

Her eyes would show her ageless beauty
Her smile would hide her thoughts
Wrapped deep
Inside of old love letters

She would sigh
As I recited old prose
We would hand in hand repose
Knowing growing old is how it goes

Alas she is but an image in my mind
A thousand years till birth
Or even more
A fantasy, that lets me die in peace
That someone could love as I loved thee

You were my past, and my eternity
Lovers who never took flight
Broken wings, and broken borders
Boundaries never crossed
Kisses though we never lost

On every wind swept shore
I wander with the birds scouting overhead
As wave upon wave of desolation slaps my head
A woman is over there by the sea
She but a stranger in the mist
So not at all is she thee

A thousand years from now
On wind swept shore
Will she be forlorn?
Weeping for the likes of me
Whispering inside, he was here but a thousand years ago
Love letters telling loves desires
Inside a bottle and buried in sand

Alas is the ocean not made of ancient tears

The Hand of Love

The night air flowed over my breath
The covers not quite keeping me warm
Dreams caressing my past
My lover whispers in my ear

Sweet words, with her loving touch
Times long ago, where tenderness would flow
Her perfume flys away with the wind
Happy days my only true possessions

ahhh but love is not as it once was
Age makes the windmill turn slower
My lover caressing my pain
Raindrops falling, aroused in the wet rain
She my life, now I live with thoughts inane

Shivering,
She releases me from both pleasure and pain
Dreams of her splatter all over on top
My cover only a cardboard box
Wet from the weather
in the alley where I sleep

At dawn, there is a sharp pain in my rib
"out your bum, get the hell away"
Kicked and bruised I grab what I can
All I can think of is to run run run

Limping, onwards to the park
I feel a firm hand take hold of me
Stop young man, its raining cant you see?
Shocked I try to escape, fear invades me

In a softer tone the man says
Come with me son, out of the rain
The shelter is over there, close to your park
A warm meal, and and fresh bath will do you good

Father O'Brien pats the new one Davey on the back
Welcome son, here's a book if you care to read
Davey still in skeptical mode, being treated as human
Father O'Brien see this in his heavy eyes
He looks at Davey and whispers
I was once you, you see

The hand of love
Can mend a thousand hearts
When like the seeds of blooming flowers
We spread the love we were handed

Come Hell or High Water

She looks out the window and sees him in the distance
So much fear inside leaves no room for resistance
If she ran right now she might be able to get away
With every broken rib she's nothing more than a cliche
She was once a strong woman, and could stand on her own
Now he's broken her will and more than one bone
Run, run, run her mind screams in shear terror
She unlocks the door without so much as a prayer
Maybe this time will be different and he won't be mad
Somehow she has to tell him he's about to be a dad
She should have taken that card and called the hot line
Her whole world changed as soon as she got the plus sign
If she can make it thru the night she'll pack up and leave
Somewhere deep inside she knows that's only make believe
She's his till the end, come hell or high water
There's nothing anyone can do about the oncoming slaughter.

A Teardrop Falls

A teardrop falls deeply—slicing and aching
hurt twisting knots around the deepest fingers
love you from my heart warmest emotions so
in each kiss of your beauty I feel all of you
worth the suffering and pain that happens
gaining rewards in the end—undiminished love
happiness such a precious gift for us forever
the teardrop falls now freely in your honor
it spills warmly and gently in your name love
as grace is my honor to bear this noble sacrifice
with joy and I find you now my sweetest sunshine
with happiness being my one-way ticket to paradise

Beautiful Pain

Shes The prettiest picture…In The Ugliest Frame
We Turned A Beautiful Love Into A Beautiful Pain
And There Was Never Another. She was My Sun And My Moon
Soon As I Told Her I Loved Her…(She Said)…”Baby Now Your Doomed”
There was A Time That I loved You…Thinking You Love Me The Same
Transformed A Beautiful Love Into A Beautiful Pain
And Now My Heart Is So Heavy You Couldn't Lift It With Crane
You Were The Sun In My Sky But Know Im Praying For Rain
To You Forever Meant Never…To Me True Meaning Remained
Our Love No Longer Distinguished cause You extinguished our Flame
I Vowed To Never Give Up..Cause I was Hoping You’d Change
How Do You Capture A Heart That Doesn't Want To Be Claimed
She’s The Prettiest Picture In Hideous Frame
Know Your Intentions Insidious But still I love you the same
My Heart was clearly departed hoping your memory fades
Even Made cupid feel stupid and start to question his aim
I promise never again and there is no need to explain
Face It…No Body wins when treat love like a game

And there was never another She was the stars and my Moon.

Take Me To Your Heart

I am a captive in your sensitive and sensuous heart,
a palace of poetic and fragrant seductions
that slips veils of sexy silken secrets along my spirit's skin
and I desperately follow your sweating soul into the wilderness
that surrounds your fertile femininity,
we kiss in moments of heightened exhalations
and then we run and play further, to the edges of your paradise
discovering together how love tortures us
and why we need it so,
feeling the bindings of love's fire
around our bodies, we demand more
give it to me tighter, hotter, faster
press this love closer to my rage and wisdom
whip me with the leather braids of love's lessons,
care for my living bruises with lips that heal
bite my masculine will
with teeth that have carved beauty out of misery,
dig your nails into the thighs of my excitement,
hold me as I paint the wings of your heart my Love -

I Need Time to Heal

Tell me why, but tell me True-
Spare me the heartbreak of a Lie
I would lay forever in these meadows...
Forever, until I die!
To rid myself of all the Pain,
And the Sorrows of what I feel
To ease my Mind, my worried Brain
(Lord! The Cuts! I need to heal)

Lost Love

If only you could see the tears
In the world you left behind
You fill my days, my nights, my dreams
You’re all that’s on my mind
Your laugh I’ll never hear again
Your smile I’ll never see
Memories now are all I have
Since loneliness found me
Time was never on your side
Your short life had to end
Now I'm left in pain without
My love and my best friend
The sadness, the emptiness
The pain I have to face
Will never leave my life
For you’re a loss I can’t replace
Even though the rain will fall
And the sun will still shine on
My life will just exist
Because my whole world now is gone
You are an Angel high above now
Watching over me
But someday I know once again
Together we will be
For when my time on earth is done
You’ll come and take my hand
And guide us to eternal love
Together in God's land..

Love is Pain

Makes me furious seeing a woman with a bruise over her eye.
The smeared mascara from the tears she's cried.
Pain he's caused, scarring her inside.
Silent Prayers are whispered into the night.
You're under one helluva spell when you don't tell.
You're not well when you accept being put through hell.

It's been awhile since you've focused rself.
Staying with that man is simply bad for your health.
Because of him there is so much life you've missed.
How could you love a man that mistakes a kiss for a fist?
He's not stable; definitely not mentally okay.
If his idea of "love" is to physically harm you in such a way!
You're under one helluva spell when you don't tell.
You're not well when you accept being put through hell.

Stand up! Free yourself from those emotional chains.
No more scrubing shirts from blood stains.
Your world will be a happier, warmer place.
No more heavy makeup covering your pretty face.
So be strong now and walk away.
Live to love "you" and your children another day.

Save Me, That I May Rise Again To Stand

Save Me, That I May Rise Again To Stand

Where it that good-morrow brought thee again
save my broken soul from love-lust in sin!
Heal my heart, stop my nights of great sorrows
offer thy hand, promise of tomorrows.

Thinking back to love-nights we never slept
agony, I fell and viciously wept.
O' my love, allow me one more soft kiss
grant mercy, giveth this saddest soul bliss.

Remember vows, we swore to never break
in this dear Hope my life, I gladly stake.
My daily prayer, sends pleas for thy hand
Save me, that I may rise again to stand.

Where it that good-morrow brought thee again
save my broken soul from love-lust in sin!

R.JLindley
NOV.17TH 1975

Note- This poem was written while in a fallen state of despair
from a lost love, and broken soul laid bare.
A youth that raced to drown sorrows, only to find more and deeper misery in the drowning.

Like A Ghost

Deep within the darkened halls of my mind I search each memory of love not meant to be.

Where love shone bright but now has left only tattered webs of pain and sorrow for me.

Lost and left behind to wander aimlessly, to feel the viperous sting of what once was, now no more.

To know of love's beauty and tenderness and passion between two hearts and all scars that it bore.

Like a ghost forever to wander these empty halls whaling for love's lost memories day and night.

Forgotten, forsaken this ghost with a broken heart, invisible, just an empty memory in plain sight.

Last Hope

It's easier to tear things down
than it is to build
Fewer every day have love
many more are killed

Some would rather look away
than to lend a hand
when a needy person's day
doesn't go as planned

Ripping someone else apart
by word of mouth or pen
is the latest social craze
done time and time again

You just insulted someone's mom
with fingertips on keys
but never knew she's suffering
a horrible disease

That young girl who is overweight
your comments cut her deep
and you all had a hearty laugh
like herds of rabid sheep

Some who came across your path
had nowhere else to go
but hatred and sarcastic wit
were all you cared to show

People aren't obstacles
to roughly push aside
humanity is family
from which one cannot hide

Strangers might be future friends
whose names you don't yet know
just open up your hearts and minds
and see where life will go

I shouldn't have to say these things
they should be understood
but human beings typically
choose evil over good

Spread kindness everywhere you go
so little is the cost
for it could easily be you
whose life is nearly lost

Let someone lean upon you
if they find it hard to cope
you never know when you'll be called
to be someone's last hope

Stepping Stone

The day fast fades
the end draws near
our time is fleeting
so brief and so dear

Over and over
I longed for you so
the longing unanswered
and so I must go

I gave you my life
you gave me my death
in very small portions
between every breath

You ravaged my heart
and invaded my mind
an addiction so sweet
a torment unkind

The truth is masked
where your comforts abound
and rigor sets in
when your pleasures are found

So now I must flee
for my very life
lest you kill me with kindness
that cuts like a knife

I pray for the darkness
for fear I'll be trapped
in the lingering glimmer
of your charms enrapt

My sudden departure
is not without tears
our dysfunctional union
did last many years

I'm leaving your world
I shall not be back
I head for the brightness
as you fade to black

You once used me
and now I'll use you
as a hard stepping stone
to a life brand new

The Hypocritical Christian

I am the hypocritical Christian.
I say I follow Christ,
But I'm still consumed by my demons.
I go to church on Sunday,
But I refuse to invite someone back.
I want to serve on mission,
But I'm too afraid to act.
They think I read The Bible,
But I just fall asleep in it.
They think I'm positivity and smiles,
But underneath I'm death and addictions.
They think I'm clean and pure,
But I'm broken and mistaken.
I say I'm not worthy of His love,
But Jesus will never let me be forsaken.
I pray long prayers,
But inside they're empty repetition.
It might look as if my faith is strong,
But my core is too easily shaken.
I say the things I'm supposed to say,
But don't follow His actions or obey.
I speak the truth the church wants to hear,
But deep inside on matters I don't know what to believe.
I walk in shame as if I'm not good enough
To be loved by God and saved through Christ,
But there is nothing I could ever do to earn His peace;
It's a free gift.
I accept;
Now forgiven, changed, and released.
Thank You God,
Thank You Jesus,
Thank You Holy Spirit!
In Jesus' Holy Name,
We pray,
Amen!

We Lost More Than a Dad

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost half of how we came to be
We lost we four girls first love
We lost our Best Friend

We lost more than just a Dad that day
Our Mom lost her Soul Mate, Her other half
Our children lost their Papaw
We lost our family’s foundation
We lost the glue that held us together

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost the Strongest man we ever knew
We lost the man we looked up too
We lost we four girls Teacher of many things

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We four girls lost our Hero
We lost some of our Light
We lost part of our Heart
We lost part of our Soul

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost some of our Courage
We lost some of our Strength
We lost some of our will to fight back
We lost some of our will to carry on
We four girls lost more than a Dad
We lost more than just a Dad that day

Sickness in my Soul

I’m in such a state of confusion,
I don’t understand what I’m doing
I know your there
And I know you care
But I can’t see you
I can’t hear you
I just don’t know what to do
I know your there in the stillness,
Waiting to heal this illness

There is a deep hole
A sickness in my soul,
Disease in the depths of my heart
 But How to fix it
I wouldn't know where to start
How it came to be
Is a deep mystery to me

I know that I am broken
We all are in some way
But rarely are these things spoken
Rarely do I have the courage to say
The secrets kept within
The depths of my sin

But if I hide it how can it be healed
 How can the healer heal?
If I keep my heart sealed
What if I let down my shield?

Will I be attacked or disgraced
Or will I be embraced
I’m too scared to find out
To be found out
So I hide my face

I only let people see part of me
I only let people get so close
I don’t want them to see
I don’t want them to know
And so I end up alone

I’ve been to the bar, the clubs,
All the social hubs
But no one cares about my hurts
 Life’s all about chasing skirts,
Fancy cars and nice shirts

Or is there something beyond drunken nights, and flashing lights
Is there something really worth living for, an open door to something more?
An invitation to a new destination
A path to peace, a sweet release
A new life to claim, an escape from the shame
I believe there is, some days I forget
But my life isn’t over yet

Tomorrow is a new day
I can live life your way
With love and peace
With guilt and shame released
With a new heart
And a new start
A reason to live
And something to give
To this broken earth
Of invaluable worth

At my very core
I know I was born for more
Than to live and to die
Without knowing why
I don’t have it all figured out
But I know without a doubt
That the world needs love
And that love comes from above
Because human love is not enough

That is why there is a deep hole
And a sickness in my soul
But to me has been revealed
The way to be healed

Now I have a mission
A reason for existence
To bring healing to the earth
To the unloved, the broken, the rejected
And tell them what they are worth
So that Jesus’ love will be reflected
And this love will give birth
To many people being resurrected,
Redirected and completely accepted
To a wonderful and glorious rebirth

My Farewell

If I forget you, would you remember me?
If I still love you, would you still love me?

If I fall when old, would you lift me up?
If I sleep, would you sleep by me?

If I run away, would you follow me?
But If I stay, would you stay with me?

If I see you, would you recognize me?
                               I know you would Not.

That is why, I wish I would whisper
                               And not hear myself

                                   I wish I could cry
                                   not feel my tears
                                    nor feel my fears.
                               Tonight, my final Farewell.

If I Were Gone Tomorrow

Ice crystals form on a once dusty road
Taillights shining brightly amongst the smoke
The old tall oak bruised but still standing strong
A pickled blackened heart no longer broke

If I were gone tomorrow would she care
Remembering that I was always there
Standing by her side through thick and thin
My everlasting love would never disappear

That distant night she wouldn't believe
My heart was pounding loudly for her
Stabbing those stilettos deep into my heart
Walking out, nevermore would my spirit stir

No amount of liquor could mask the pain
Finally, a dead heart will beat again

A Soul Awakened

She is the muse to her own sorrow; She is the digger of her grave. She is the painter of her ocean view and every fatal wave She is the shadow of her Father; She is the darkness in your sight. She is the night without the stars surrounding pale moonlight. She is the music with no words; She is sweet love without the reason. She is your dreamer with submission cold by warmth with every season. She is your pet with cold intentions; She is your baby scared and shaken. She is the bold and pure- the lost and found, She is a soul awakened.

I Love You

I love you
I never kissed
I never touched
Yet I know
We are one
So now I hang my head
Alone
I am all done
Death becomes me more and more
Without you life has become a bore
I mount my horse and ride off
Into the mountains high
I am battle ready
A heart so scared
They call me brave heart, fierce and bold
I battle the infidels, behead em all
I am no brave lad, tiss for sure
If I was
I would battle you
For your love I long
Like spring flowers growing in battle scared fields
I have lost this war of passion I seek
You have castrated this warrior tall
Of Passions woes
I lie down
In graveyards sowed

Our Hearts Are Broken Too

(In memory of those lost in Newtown, CT) We may not know the answers to all the questions asked We cannot control how great the pain or how long it will last. Nothing we can do will erase the pain you bear But we cannot remain silent as if we didn’t care. The blood of precious children was shed this very day And grieving families wonder when this pain will go away. We know time will heal a multitude of wounds But we also can be very sure it won’t be very soon Evil came to visit here and we all wonder why The souls of friends and children were made to say good-bye What happened here today we may not ever know And haunting thoughts of loved ones will follow where we go. You may be called to travel a higher road than we But you cannot travel faster than our prayers that follow thee. We know that we can never bear the grief that you go through Just remember we are here – Our hearts are broken too. Written by John Posey 12/16/12

Kashmir-The woman

Kashmir is the innocent beauty of nature
It lifted me above all mire dark and dense.

Kashmir is the divine smile
It gifted me a peace beyond all of my sense.

Kashmir is the sorrow
It showed me a combined pain of poverty, corruption and terrorism.

Kashmir is the beautiful helpless unmarried woman.
Whose neighbors are trying to capture her body not sweet heart.

Kashmir is the paradise on earth without dream...

Pitch black is the night there is no moon in sight while she's standing there with the sea’s tangy air silently inhaling, her raven hair cascading alone by the shore, pensive, like before. However tonight, you won't be by her side to lose yourself again in the pools of her eyes neither will you open any door to her mind as she valiantly saves what remains of her pride. You will never know how many times she has read your words she longed to hear, yet remained unsaid 'til they came too late, for she, too weary with the wait has now laid your love on the seaside catacomb's bed.

The Pain of Night

Caving tears in the moonlight's shadow
I wash the pain of yesterday's wound
A shade of happiness drifts in the darkness
I start to breathe in a crowded room
I run fast, 'til I reach the horizon
Eyes glare at me, I have nowhere to go
I screw up all the pain this heart kept
I'm giving up, I'm tired to blend
Kneeling down, I summon love
I searched for love myself, and I failed
I am broken, impaired, can barely bend
Bring me to life, where love exists
Lay down my soul barely naked
Grasp the thinnest air, I'm suffocating
Sooner or later the pain will be gone
The night will soon meet the sunshine

I Recieved what I Prayed For

"LOVE for the Eons of FOREVERS"
Sorrow's pain and tears, wased AWAY
In His Blood: "His Precious Blood"
I kneel to GOD's Glory, thru the Everlasting Day
Surrounding me, God's LOVE So Pure, mankind never severs

In His Blood "His Precious Blood"
LOVE for the Eons of FOREVERS
His Light Shimmers, Glows; with Father God's Glory
Surrounding me, God's LOVE so PURE, mankind never severs
Thru the Garden of Eternity as a seedling becomes a bud

Following my Savior, My Rose of Sharon; My GOD
GOD'S Light Shimmers, Glows : with HIS Glory
LOVE for the Eons of FOREVERS
Songs, Hymns of Praise, Proverbs, and Psalms, tell His story
Thru the Garden of Forever, My Infinite Soul, Shall trod

I Kneel before JESUS, Singing Praises of LOVE
He Dies, He Lives again, and walks with me to my Salvation
God in His LOVING Mercy, Embraces my Heart and Soul
LOVE for the Eons of FOREVERS
As Dreams of Youth Explain Love's Revelation

Sorrow's pain and Tears, washed AWAY
In His Blood, " His Precious Blood"
I kneel to GOD's Glory, thru the Everlasting Day
Surrounding Mankind : GOD's Light of Pure LOVE
"LOVE for the Eons of FOREVERS"

Untwisted

Sometimes the memories won’t fade
All the places we have seen
All the prices we have paid
The memories of the happy as well as the sad
            The people we’ve lost
           The friends that we had
Some memories just seem like a ghost
I always lost everyone that I loved the most
The wind would just carry them away
             Along with my tears
            And my ability to pray
I wonder how far is heaven from here?
              How many more heartaches
                 How many more tears
I wonder how far it is away
Because I have so many things that I wish to say
To all the people that I loved and I lost
             I’m not even tripping
             My heart paid the cost
The reaper rode the river in a bikers disguise
I’ll never forget the fear in my mother’s eyes
As he drug her under and then let her go
Through my four year old veins hate started to grow
My eyes were blind my ears were deaf
After that I forgot
           There was anything left
Karma is like poker for it is bound to luck
When I was just a boy
God through me under the truck
Of all the things in life we feel
We are all bound to God’s will
Passion is a doorway between love and hate
God is the dealer in the game of fate
Our place is not to question why
For if we do our faith will die
The deeper we hate the deeper we love
I was gifted wisdom by the Lord above
Every gift comes at a price
A world of experience behind my advice
Every smile holds a lifetime of pain
Nothing that happens should happen in vein
It is our choice that which we do
Know in your heart these words are true
The harder we fall the further we climb
No ones life is totally sublime
Illusion after illusion will be offered to you
But only the living word is true
The living word that beats in your heart
Will keep you safe as the world falls apart
Through the pain of a boy watching his mother die
It’s never to late to kiss the sky
A man of faith who could never give up
Please come break my bread and share in my cup
By the time our journey is through
I’ll share all I am with you
Hopefully somewhere in my words you’ll see
---Untwisted is truly the way to be---

Is It Worth It

Love can seem so happy and so wonderful
But it can hurt and take away from life too
You make me so happy and make me feel so special
But then you turn around and make me feel like ****
love can turn you into a whole new person
But you could change into to something great or something no one wants
Love seems so wonderful at first
But spending my days not knowing if you want me or even care for me is agonizing
Sometimes i feel like your lying to me but if i say that then you'll get mad again
Your such a loose cannon, ready to burst with rage and tears
Love is so temperamental
so can you tell me......
Is It Worth It?
