FALL IN LOVE

F eeling enraptured, Autumn dances in the wind, then undresses.
A s bright robes fall to the ground, her passion paints the twilight skies.
L ike a nymph, she beckons, tossing her fiery auburn tresses.
L ongingly she sighs - September’s bliss lingering in her eyes.

I ndian summer days come; then they go.
N ights though chill, embrace her in indigo.

L ater, in November, her sweetness wanes.
O ctober cannot stay forever loving her.
V acantly she gazes through freezing rains.
E ndearments whispered - cease - when Fall loses ardor.

The Rose Bowl

The sky is one gigantic bowl of pink turned upside down, spilling soft rosy petals that peeked out from beneath snow white billowed clouds till - fully blossomed - they burst out. Growing radiant at the edge of twilight, they’ve scattered as rubescent streaks falling, lush and luminescent, as we watch in solitude. No parade this evening - just you and I aglow, wishing for an eternity to be like this: so splendidly in love. . . in the pink.

The Music of the Wind

Helicopter seeds
from my maple tree
drift down,
swaying
back
and
forth
from the strong branches above.
They all fall around me,
I am encapsulated by the swirling seedlings.
Snug within their warmth,
the wind sends me on my feet.
Dancing with the music of the air
that is rushing through my hair,
I inhale the sweet, mellow essence of what life has granted me.
Then I exhale the words,
"I am thankful for this life and the road, no matter how rocky, has served its purpose".
As I leave this place,
I hum the tune of the masterpiece conducted by the wind
that rustled in this tree.

The Promise of Spring - A Fibonacci

I
Will
Kiss you
While you sleep
Lady dressed in white
And melt your cold heart made of ice

Then
You
Will rise
Liquefied
High into the sky
And fall as raindrops from God’s eyes

To
The
Waiting
Buds below
Where now you will grow
With me - in the bloom of a rose

Summer Love Sonnet

What's not to love about a summer day?
Kissed by the sun, the warmth of its embrace
To feel the cleanse from sweat at work and play
While honeysuckle breezes cool my face

With hillsides blanketed in purple vetch
Magenta morning glories and light blues
Imagine all the butterflies they fetch
A scene to romance any poet's muse

But when it gets too hot, I seek the shade
Barefoot in clover 'neath tall sycamores
Or take a watermelon down to wade
A spring fed creek, to cool, while I explore

That evening, in the swing, I watch fireflies
Then pray I wake to see one more sunrise

Gentle Summer Rain

She writes about Fall's beauty in the rain
The falling raindrops' dance ascribing thence
Bespoken verse that lightens her refrain
before the time they met - her steps commence.

She listens to the soft and rhythmic thrum,
her love turned to escape and cloudy string
Where nimbus mistletoe fell, tears to become
Their kiss of Autumn was symbolic ring.

The first light cotton mists with summer rays
While skyward cheerful laughs adorn the land,
their ceremonial dance diffuses grays,
affectionate embrace, where dreams expand.

Upon September's sky the raindrops gleam
With half of hidden Sun to laugh and beam.

Over the still pond
a leaning branch of Iris
Messenger of Love

sudden gentle breeze
flower kisses the water
whispering love talk

ripples in water
sending another message
signature of life

September

Trees reach like glowing embers
to singe the autumn skies.
Leaves burst with blinding colour
like sparks that spin and rise
Then a breath of weightless fog
moves across the silent lake
where trails of molten clouds
fill the sunset's smoky wake.
The harvest moon emerges
like a second burning sun
to fill the sky with button-stars
that morning pulls undone.
Sunlight floods the gardens
to melt the morning dew.
This is where my heart resides
since September gave me you.

BUNDA CLIFFS

BUNDA CLIFFS

The crossroads led me to the edge of life,
a rugged path of love that caused despair.
In turmoil to escape my feelings rife
with anguish of a heart beyond repair.
By chance I wandered off the beaten track
to find a lookout with a view of might.
With past ways leading to a cul de sac
I stand above the beauty of the Bight.
A step to death, a stagger off the ledge,
on shaded stillness of the rocks below,
to end it all, against a future pledge,
befall the fate of love’s lament in tow.

In flight and fall, behind is past remorse,
A cliff to climb and conquer life’s new course.

One Special Yew

I want to merge with this old Yew,
To travel through its rings of time.
Back when it's sprout had just begun
Near Blarney's river so sublime.

Where ivy climbs the castle walls,
A quaint sized foot bridge leads to where,
The old strong Yew still charms today
As autumn chills with crisp clean air.

I felt compelled to climb it's limbs
To sit embraced by its sweet love.
To its spirit, in whispered voice,
I then professed the same thereof.

How strong that memory still keeps
As other trees I've come to know
Bless me with their cool umbrella,
I see that Yew in vigil glow!

The Perfect Day

Mist rises from the valley floor Sunshine peeks over the mountain top silhouetting the Coopers Hawk soaring in the southern breeze I sit in my old oak rocking chair drinking my dark black coffee taking it all in. Mornings don't get any finer I am one one with nature. The smell of flapjacks fill the air Then out walks you my heart skips a beat as you smile brighter than the clear blue stream blending in beautifully with the azure sky your caramelized eyes glisten each time you glance my way I can't help but smile for this is the perfect day

Beauty in my Palm

You are the wild flower in my palm
With no stem to keep you anchored to this covetous earth
You are the fragile thing I dare not cup,
As your petals whittle away under the wind
And flit unfettered in the air;
Exaggerated fear leaves my fingers numb
Hungry need leaves my fingers twitching
And my hand is paralyzed by turmoil
As every breath of wind takes another petal from me
And brings to my lungs, my chest and my heart
An overwhelming scent of need-

You are the wild beauty in my palm
And I dare not hold you to my chest
For I fear to crush you
To know first hand
That caged beauty, is beauty no more.

Summer Lover

Oh, summer sun, all winter I have missed
your stale hot breath upon my upturned face;
your tongue that seers my flesh as I unlace
the strings on my bikini. I am kissed
by sultry lips that burn. I can’t resist!
I bask in light of day, and I embrace
Your penetrating rays that find each space
of skin exposed. I wait and plan my tryst.
And when you come, I’ll reverence you once more,
supine, as you would have me, to receive
your torrid touch as token of your lust.
In June we’ll meet as always by the lake shore.
I should not go. So well you can deceive.
Some lovers you have killed! Yet still I trust. . .

Half-Lit Moon

Haze up in the heavens encircles this orb.
Half-dark, half-light, shines from above.
Twinkles of light appear to absorb.
Fractions of darkness within lighted glove,

Speaking to lovers held in each other’s arms.
Answering questions of science to some,
Floating around spreading blessed charms,
Listening close at times, hearing a hum.

Lovers for centuries, graciously, captured by,
Sweet serenity and magical mystery,
Others entranced with secrets, which fly.
From words written and spoken in history.

Satellite, orb, lady, they are all the same.
Mythical goddesses, gripped in flame.
These tales have spread so many games.
This object seen most nights has no shame.

Rose

She holds herself above the thorns of bitterness
So sharp and green with envy of her loveliness
As she trembles in the chill of winter’s breath
That stills the beating of her scarlet breast
As her petals fall like drops of blood
Upon the snowy mantle white
As beautiful in death
As she was the rose in life

Daydream

Robins move quickly across the fresh spring grass gathering foliage for a newly woven nest Church bells can be heard chiming rhythmically out in the distant west Vibrant tulips, lily's and orchids are exploding in the garden arousing sensuous scents of jasmine and rose as a gentle breeze tickles my nose The sun sprinkles sunshine off the glistening dew bringing me a smile and thoughts of you Your warm and loving heart like the perfect cloudless day Your sweet and tender touch taking all my breath away I sit here enjoying this glorious sight daydreaming of sharing with you my night

Its Raining...

                          Its Raining…

God’s Cleansing Tool
Cloud-Concerto… How Cool !
Plop-Plop Plopping into Pothole Pools
On the Grass, Pavements and On My Own-Sweet- Fools…

who, don’t have Sense enough, to get out of the Rain…
… I think I’ll go Join Them… Again

No Gold Nor Silver

No gold nor silver, weights my needy purse
Spun silk and finery I have no need
Such poverty of wealth be not God's curse
For bless'd the man who covets not for greed

My wealth is in the lilies of the field
The colors of the sunsets thrill my soul
Fruit trees and animals provide their yield
And stewardship to nature is my toll

But verdant forests do not warm a bed
The moon and stars, though friends, are silent stones
And lonely is the footpath which I tread
For one true heart, I'd share my pauper's throne

A golden heart and pauper's paradise
For love and happiness, a humble price

delectable pleasure

on a quiet

rain

amidst the

memories

sensually

arousing

Warmth

Sun
kiss me
your sweet rays
let your warm breath
touched upon my face
bathe me with your radiance
and witness as a smile blooms
from my eyes that glow in surprise
to my full lips longing to be sealed
by an endearing and passionate kiss!

Innocence

A weeping willow gently sways amidst
A baby robin taking its very first breath.

They were young, in love
And knew no other
This was their moment, to be cherished forever.

Her body so beautiful, so delicate to touch
His masculinity soared over the sky above.

Entwined as ivy, united as one
They soaked in the passion of the blazing hot sun.

A girl's silhouette shyly covers her hand
As a starried eye boy becomes a man.

My Sanctuary Sonnet

I find sanctuary in this sonnet
when as verdant hills rhymes do fall and rise
with aspens quaking in the windless skies.
One such will have blue birds flocking on it.

The trees shall be my muse and bid me write
while I in white gazebo am ensconced
with flowers vased, each color a nuance
in my lyrics, a-blush at first then white.

As I meander through a cloudless dream
the shades ever change in the wake of love.
Each line will fit my lyrics like a glove
while blue birds harmonize in morning's gleam.

Eyes of love are each an estuary
in the sonnet of this sanctuary.
