Evening Song

Conducted by the Hands that gave them voice
Sweet songs of evening soothe my weary soul.
Oh, how I love to hear the birds rejoice
As frogs and insects hum adagio.

Each night I sit and watch the sun go down
Accompanied by song that has no score
Each night His orchestra holds me spellbound
That's why each night, I come right back for more.

Yet I am just a simple country boy
These nature songs were my first lullabies
E'en to this day they bring my heart such joy
And on occasion tear these simple eyes

When moon appears to watch the sun depart
My only thought, "My God, how great Thou art."

If stars were Gold

In your absence I float in psychedelic ink to design a labyrinth with rainbow roses drenched in turquoise tears and metaphors. But, if stars were gold, and I am love, you'll be the poetic garden that feeds my soul. Maybe, someday, I'll be more than just a faltering feather~will you then, remind me, how to sing again, steal the light behind the jade moon?

Eclipse

~ECLIPSE~

The shining light hides behind my eyes,
Comes in a super nova surprise
My spirit glides into the skies,
Spreading the perfect heat like the sunrise

I was like a diamond under the beauty of the ocean!
My current rides out with smooth motions,
Leaving a taste with intense emotion
Captured by my tides, sunk to my love potion

The sun sends my waves like a mirage of snow
I got the moon to favor upon my glow
With every star touching my inner soul
A glimpse of darkness in my light entwining with a massive flow

Blinded by my own ECLIPSE!
My sun & moon collide
Until the day we both touch lips

Carpe Noctem

Up above the moon shines brightly;
starlight touches earth so lightly;
passions teasing impolitely.
Midnight whispers, “Carpe noctem.”

Blowing soft the summer breezes
through her hair as nighttime pleases,
and the moonlight softly teases.
Voices urging, “Carpe noctem.”

Standing close our bodies facing;
hand in hand our fingers lacing;
gentle touches, hearts are racing.
Longings begging, “Carpe noctem.”

Wonder where her thoughts are leading;
do my eyes reveal my pleading?
Will she, with her voice conceding,
whisper softly, “Carpe noctem?”

Magical Moonlight

I
love
walking
at midnight
as moonlight shadows
dance on the inky blue ocean
and watch as they sparkle and shimmer like tiny stars,
pirouetting gracefully like prima ballerinas with the ocean as their stage

Painting Love

How many images can I paint more
than I’ve already done? Like nights moon-lit
or meadow-dancing? You - whom I adore -
in every love scene - you’re the star of it.
The many colors! Oh, each brilliant hue.
I splashed them giddily when we shared bliss.
I’ve given sunsets, snow and spring to you -
Sweet passion’s words for you, Dear, and a kiss
I’ve always left down on the corner of
each canvas in our life, for there’s no me
without you, and there’s nothing but our love
to get us through, and sometimes tragedy
I’ve painted too – deep ocean’s blue – yet still,
I’ll paint you always lovely with my quill.

A Shining Star

"a shining star"
a shining star you shall always be a jewel in the cosmos that I see like the snow that glistens white like the moon that shines bright you bring out the best in me
when you stand before the ocean blue feel a gentle embrace intended just for you when you see a pearl or shell in the sand know it is me taking you by the hand know your heart and soul will renew
a grand piano or a single guitar a source of strength from afar with words that I have none to give with hope and love may light live a shining star is what you are

Humanity

Shadow not over the words of love Love is a language known only to the heart Hear it in the wind and the birds above Paint it on a canvas skin and call it art Eternal beauty walks among us all Seekers of knowledge may know its name But true wisdom lies in hearing its call As the oceans cause the moon to wane Its gentle touch, abundantly crystalline Euphoric in nature, its secret is kept With its healing powers all part divine Though many an angel from love has wept Compassion and caring, make love's trinity And kindness a guide that leads to bliss So make love your one and true reality For you are worth much more than this

To Love You Upon My Last Breath

When the last rain drop has fallen and final word has been spoken. When mercy is no longer our saviour, remember, each time your heart beats, with every sigh on the tip of your tongue, my only wish was to forever love you, stronger than the light that shone at sunrise, warmer than the rays from that golden orb, more powerful than the radiance of the moon and with greater devotion than the stars.

Writing a Love Sonnet POTD

If only I could write you a sonnet,
Iambic pentameter and what not,
Let my muse mull profoundly upon it.
I must write it quickly lest I forgot.

It will have to stress real passion, love,
Mention a rose if I really must
But for heaven's sake leave out the white dove,
Still do mention the red moon that I trust.

Compare her eyes to some fragrant flower,
And wish to taste her full strawberry lips,
Scheme to meet her in a quiet bower,
Clouds enfold us in mythical eclipse.

Will she come, will she go, my marigold?
Ah, my poor love sonnet has now gone cold.

Prayer For Her, This Wounded Heart Healed

Prayer For Her, This Wounded Heart Healed

Please keep this dream in my lost life
remove painful sting and life filled with strife
Let her dance and sing another sweet tune
as I hold her under this, merciful God's moon.

Rainbows on the Moon

in hyacinth and heather my true love dwells
and in lush lavender her bones rest in peace
no mere human can project nor can foretell
when in this life one's vitality may cease
yet this I know and of this I can be sure
that her soul was white as snow and truly pure
thus in God's new world I know I'll see her soon
and together we'll chase rainbows on the moon

In Purple Fields We Dance

Stay a little longer come closer to my heart Breathe dew breeze on my neck's nape do not yet depart Play for me bagpipe music Blindfold all my starving fears Let the dulcet tones of your voice give us back those harvest years Make of the citrus moon a ballroom Hold me firmly from both hands Lift me high to touch the star-sky Show me how young peasants dance Let my soothing fingers trail across your caloused sun -soaked skin In purple fields Come chase me in that place our souls have been Take me away with you where this world is out of sight Where unspoken thoughts and heartbeats are enough to blaze the night.

Summer

Oh summer what have you done to me
so many flirtatious winks teasingly
undressing me with every wisp of
a welcomed heat filled breath

Oh summer, oh how you melt me
with those gazing sunrise eyes blinking
and those sweet high noon kisses swimming
fogging up another afternoon aviator sky

Oh summer your warm touches caress
and I'm a mess blushing into a golden
bronze affair wondering when you're not there
if you will ever come back again

Oh summer your nights delight with fire
and a backyard breeze harmony underneath
a blanket of stars and a lemonade moon
hushed I swoon knowing I'm in love

Dancing Once Again With Words

Dancing once again with words,
As the two of us, embrace--
Another verse, another rhyme
Of waterfalls, and lace.

Romantic words in meter,
Although where's the gentle kiss?
Where's the touch and feel of it,
The tenderness, I miss?

Need I craft another verse, or two,
Of moon and leafy wood?
Should one appear, and touch my heart,
Then possibly I could.

But what would be the good of it,
Shall my words a love renew?
Then a sonnet I would surely pen
With the imagery of you.

And who can say, though distantly,
Perhaps a spark could grow--
Then I would dance, and cheek-to-cheek...
And let my poems go.

This Is Love

Twilight's aurora seems so perfect. Lustrous shades of clementine, caressing vivid violet visions. Majestic moon enlightens, as shadows come to life. Flashes of light, pierce through a black blanket. Love wraps itself, scintillating soaring spirits to glide towards sphinxlike skies, searching for secret stars. Eyes glitter like sprinkles of stardust. Lips blend like silent ovetones, adrift in romantic musings. Hearts pacify in peaceful rhythms, each beat an endless reminder this is no mirage from a sweet reverie.

Obstacles

If e're we could move that mountain from between thee and me,
where would be lament or reason to grieve?
How remove the hollow from the tree, or shore from the sea?
What left would there be?

What if ere the beam lost it's moon.
Or lovely Autumn raiment lost it's tree? What then would it be?
Can one sow the seed without the land?
Would this be what Powers planned?

The grief, the longing, oh, the heartfelt gaze,
The strife the loneliness, but a soulful phase.
A mountain surmountable, a hollow fulfilled,
A sea able to be, a beam again spilled.

A stage again for raiment,... a fertile valley for seed.
Our love could not be boundless without the bonds of these.

Spurned Love

She awoke to a blazing sun, brightest orb, day’s lover. The moon, jealous of her love, cried for the night’s loss. She, sleeping, missed the soft caress, silken touch, palest rays that beckoned her to waken and taste their sweetness.

The Lingering of Longing and Life

'Neath nocturnal bloom
the essence of self
dwindles in a pillowed horizon
twilight dies a whisper -
your voice in my ear…

the pale goddess rises
mothering angel’s tears
tending till dawn
a moon garden vigil
bearing witness to your visit

I kissed the Moon

I kissed the moon tonight, enveloped with quartz amulets of Luna as luminous streams of stars paint my poetic sky glazed in citrine dust tracing rain dews in your eyes to cleanse these scars I hide within teal rivers, swiftly ferrying lanterns whilst wishing upon the Milky Way that your cosmic rhymes would save my aching soul from drowning , so take my heart, engrave love
