Strangely Beautiful

If moonbeams’ fickle shadow-plays collude
with tousled sheets to take the shape of you,
And silent sighing pillow-tops exude
your scent, how do I see the night-time through?
If longing breezes rat-tat on my glass,
Curled soft into the likeness of your hand,
And floorboards moan, as if to feel you pass,
How can I wake each day? How can I stand?
If crowds contrive to conjure up your face,
And, mesmerised by yearning, I collide
with echoes of your breath at every pace,
How can I walk? How can I step outside?
And yet, because you built this purgatory,
Its walls are strangely beautiful to me.

Sweet Youth

Sweet youth with its ghostly shadows of regret
encircling the mind of an aging maid...like vultures
       waiting to descend

Capturing those passions left unspoken
from a self-conscious shy student in church choir.

His flawless skin drew me in like an invisible magnet.
My eyes followed his every unnoticed move
        in anguished longing.

My silent lips uttered no audible words even when
he reached out to touch my long deep golden hair.

I reminisce and suddenly he's right here
His jet black hair and handsome face remain frozen
in youth as my words left, unspoken.

All I Think About Is You

Looking out into the setting sun Bright orange and brilliant red hues Mind drifting off in the distance All I think about is you Each day we are getting closer but you are so far away My heartbeat is getting stronger As I think about you I need your love to hold me up When life comes crashing down Make sense out of everything When all seems lost You seem true Looking out in the setting sun Flickers of hope I see Foreseeing just you and me In each and every dream My heart is calling you home Come slip inside my room Lay your head upon my pillow Waiting, wishing, wondering All I think about is you

Love never fades

the morning air staggers above the lake
through trees, i almost feel it kissing me
my thoughts spiral down like leaves amidst fall
this emptiness is more than i can take
beneath closed eyes you are all that i see
yet emptiness haunts within morning's call

'TRUST ME BABY THIS IS LOVE'

Breathe my love, for I breathe for you
Thru cyan skies and oceans bathing blue
Speak my love, for I lonely listen for you
Vivacious vivid voices of a sensuous spew

Dream my love, for I only dream of you
Lavish green meadows in the morning dew
Sing my love, for I symphonically sing for you
With Angelic ambiance within heavens view

Cry my love, for I calamitously cry for you
Lachrymal layers of our binding brew
Dance my love, so I may dance with you
In melodic moonlight that I may woo

Love, my love, so I may love with you
Through echoing eternity just the two.

The Nectars of Love

The Nectars of Love Let your love fall, that I may wallow Let your tears drip of inner essence Entranced by the nectar I swallow As I engulf and taste your presence *** Let your beating heart keep company The emptiness that entraps my being I’m a string vibrating in your symphony Forever echoing festal forever freeing *** Intoxicated by your juices made wine For the gods pour down their nectar Indulging in grapes of the orchid vine Seducing our souls a haunting specter *** The nectars of your love are ingested And the fluids of my heart arrested. For Only A Moment

Did it have to last for only a moment,
our love withered before the flowers you sent,
white carnations, a pure love they meant,
a relationship so newfound and innocent.

Our love withered before the flowers you sent,
your early departure I could not prevent,
a relationship so newfound and innocent,
a memory lingers on like a sweet scent.

Your early departure I could not prevent,
white carnations, a pure love they meant,
a memory lingers on like a sweet scent,
did it have to last for only a moment.

As Comfortable As Possible

Closure eludes my clasp
Love wilts, somehow lasts
The destination beyond my grasp

The dream decays day by day
Your light, which never fades
Simply stopped shinning my way

Castrating chains of second chair
Faithfull, I wither for you there
Sucking stale stagnant air

Barely beating beneath my breast
My heart, now a hospice
Gently lays it all to rest

Lightly felt faintly heard
Pumping, pain-numbing words
Its over…its over… its over

You Know I Love You

Winds may howl,
Wild animals growl,
The forest grows cold,
For I am lonesome and old
As the sun peaks through the clouds,
I hear your soft, young voice so loud!
And though you speak dead man's lines,
You speak them with majesty divine
As I am wrapped in my woe,
I only want you to know...
...that roses die black and violets lose blue,
But I will never die
And you know I love you!

Eucalyptus Longing

The rushing wonts of action render these happenings unmovable,
These feelings, passionately felt, to dull words ill and strained
She clings, my koala, with chocolate eyes pining for my green
Though each time she lets me go, she leaves me docile and pained

Once before I claimed her; yes, she did not turn away from me
But instead gazed on how the breeze could sway my branches
I wanted my bark to secrete the sweetest tears,
So she would know how eternally I yearn for her glances

For it is she alone, who can consume and digest my poisons
It is she alone—besides the sun—who gives me reason to stand erect

Color Me Blue

Color me blue
As I think of you
A love once true
Has lost its radiant hue

Tomorrow I begin anew
How? I haven't a clue
A love once true
Has now faded blue

Where is the joy we knew
Happiness that grew
A love once true
It's gone; it flew

I know we're through
All around I see blue
A love once true
Leaves me longing for you

Wondering what I can do
No more to pursue
A love once true
Has left me so blue

I eat my words, I chew
Taste like a worn shoe
A love once true
Has gone askew

Did I misconstrue
I strove to continue
A love once true
Until you withdrew

Color me blue

To Love Her

In telepathic dreams my lover's voice
seduces from beyond a distant star.
Enchanted by her song I face this choice-
to ply the void or worship from afar.
In visions of the night she sways in dance,
her eyes aflame with passion and desire.
She beckons me to join in sweet romance,
her plea the match that sets my heart afire.
I've searched this world in vain for one so true,
from sea to sea my quest - futility!
Relationships have always left me blue,
each one seemed destined to fatality.

To love her is the answer to my prayer,
I'll ask the Enterprise to take me there.

Trust Me Baby This Is Love

The turtles roam where the butterflies go How can I say what your love means to me A poem I write to hopefully show To convey with tender words sincerely My love for you continually grows For in my heart I hold your loving smile Inspiring me to write you endless prose Our time too brief though your love does beguile All I can offer is my heart to you In return for yours that will never stray I promise you I shall always be true Hear my words of love and let them convey Of my undying love until the end For now this love poem to you I send

Sonnet to Sorrow O'er Sin for a Season and Young Love Lost

When I look on my life that's now half-spent,
I sigh the loss of youth that's forever past,
wishing myself better Fortune's consent,
love, friends and wealth with naught to lose or waste
but for the mean expense of young love lost;
despising this, I oft' bemoan the loss
of vestal company's first time the most,
for matrons offend like mouldering moss;
which, like Time's sure, inexorable march;
destroys the juvenescence of life's spring
year by year till extinguishing Youth's torch,
a dead flame for which I am most desiring.
If I could live and love anew once more,
I'd not err this time and lay a rude whore.

A Lament for Lost Youth and Love

I mourn for the death of my erstwhile youth,
a time of innocence and naive bliss
which hid from me life's dark, unpleasant truth,
but for ever holds all the joys I miss;
a time of mannish beauty, brawn and thews,
as of a Greek god in his peerless prime
like Heracles of fabled strength, sinews
and might that's of renown from mythic time.
But, O Desire!...how do I long for
your renewal (in my now loveless life)
of me through the fair virgins of folklore
whose maidenhood can quench my lustful strife!
Now in the fall of my increasing years,
I have lost youth and love as old age nears.

Morning Mist

In dampened blur of violet dawn as angels’ weep did touch upon a mourner’s shoulders mist enshroud - to soften edges gauzy haze that hug around these painful days and mellow memories endowed in sacred stillness of time gone. In silent water droplets clear is beauty precious every sphere collecting on the silvern spires midst leaf and scented lavender reminding me of when we were devoted in our love’s desires - each flower holds a lost love tear. Departed

He left her side
Going... She knows not where

The last sound of footsteps
fading away

But... He will come back

Looking through old photographs
Love letters and places

He will be back.

He will come back to her caring arms
Her compassionate eyes
Their secret ways and her smiling face.

He will be back

A little bit too early

A little bit too late.

Far too late

Far too late to unlock the door to his desired faith.

Far too late for begging apologies

No one has ever returned from the dead.

Just a poem :)

Oh Luna

Oh Luna

Oh Luna, I am watching you
     rise in eastern skies.
Your fullness fills my heart
     with romantic thoughts
As I serenely bathe in your
     charming reflective glow,
I know there are lovers every-
     where gazing in awe
Of your exquisite enchanting
    allure causing hearts
To beat with a thrilling rhythm
     of inner love songs
That captivate the heart and
     soul, imbibing imagery
Of silent shadows and distant
     stars that drape your
Indigo sky in shimmering star-
     light from light years
Passed, and as shooting stars
     brighten night skies,
They are reflected as you are
     in lover's longing eyes.

A Little in Love

A little in love
is all that I'll be
maybe I'll fall
just a degree

Maybe I won't
melt when he smiles
maybe my hope
won't run for miles

Maybe my world
won't encircle his face
maybe my heart
won't quicken its pace

Maybe his words
won't brazenly glow
maybe my nervous
worship won't show

Maybe he won't
counsel clandestine meetings
maybe his touch
won't be so fleeting

Maybe my mind won't be dazzled and meek
maybe my will won't be hollow and weak

Maybe I'll excuse his passion-borne bruises
maybe I'll use the face that he uses

A little in love
is all I'll concede
but love can be lies
fools like me believe.

Lost In My Lost Cinnamon Dreams

Cinnamon memories catch my soul in snares as I trace in anguish the curve of your lips in a photo stained sepia with my tears - a thousand words spoken through my fingertips; wishing you to be the breeze teasing my hair or the sun on my skin after its eclipse, let mare’s tails twine us in a heavenly kiss -- cinnamon stirs my bittersweet reminisce. MOON WHISPERS

the full moon dangles low tonight
and whispers sweetly in my ear
memories of fiery delight
the full moon dangles low tonight
graceful herons glide in full flight
I’d trade them all to hold you near
the full moon dangles low tonight
and whispers sweetly in my ear

Forever in a moment

My Forever wasn’t even a second,
Not even a blink of my eye,
As your “beautiful” sped past me today,
Leaving me pondering “Why?”

Why did our eyes reach out to each other,
Why are you inside of my mind,
Why have you taken over my every thought,
Why did you leave me behind.

These thoughts shook my hands today,
We could’ve met for real, however,
These thoughts of you are all I have,
These thoughts are my after Forever.

Shifting Sands Of Crumbled Love

              No other choice
as my shadow schemes in the sand,
lone cries on lovelorn wings give grief heart’s voice
        over scorned wedding band.
Sandcastles are crumbled in undertow’s deceit,
longing and revenge, a million grains ‘neath my feet.
    Avenged by briny blue’s retreat,
illusions built too closely to tide’s edge rejoice.

Aching for Love

She sits alone in quiet of the night as thoughts of him wrap ‘round her yearning heart, and whispers ‘cross her skin; her flesh excites while longing for his touch when they’re apart. She yearns to gaze into his eyes of blue while feeling his caress engulf her soul, and have their hearts eclipse as love renews; she longs for his return to make her whole. She reaches for her parchment and her quill to iterate her feelings and her doubts; for him to know her longing thoughts instill, and from this poet's pen, a poem pours out, “My lonely spirit aches while you’re away, and longs to feel your love as hearts replay.”

How I Loved You

Too little did I worry,
Too little did I know—
I wasn’t sure that you would stay,
But I never thought you’d go.

And isn’t it amazing,
How quickly day turned night?
It seems my eyes are failing,
For I cannot see the light.

O, they say that it is coming,
No farther than the dawn—
But it seems the sun is indisposed,
For it weeps that you are gone.

Some will call it merely rain,
But how are they to know?
Whatever do they know of pain—
Or how I loved you so?
