For 'Ol Tom Bell --Repost

Reposted tribute to MrTom Bell, as per Christy's call for all who had the pleasure of
knowing Tom to write a poem for him:)

How is it that someone can touch
Your very soul,
Without ever having met
Face to face?

How is it that my heart lies shattered
Upon this desolate plane
Without ever having seen the cause
For its breaking?

How can I put into words
What I am feeling,
When my red heart that writes,
Is now cold and blue with regret?

You called upon me to share
A past, funny remembrance you penned –
(A bad day at the eye doctor's)
And I swear to you, I tried to find it!
But your long, Tom list of heart words daunted me…
And after a few pagesI gave up.
I told you this, and you tried again to show me
But this dumb blonde just could not find it…

Until now.

I searched and searched until it was found.

It took me until you passed
To read the poem you wished to share,
And man, is it funny!

You had me laughing and crying
At the same time!

I left you a comment
That you will never read –
And my heart cries for being too late.
It is now, and forever will be
on my Favorites list.
I want you to know how much I love
(And will forever miss)
Your true Tom Tales…

Your words brought your kind soul to light;
Your voice wrapped itself around
My heart like vines,
Baring the most beautiful
Laughing blooms.

I am honored to have met your soul,
And called you friend;
Thank you for listening to my trials and life story,
And for all of your wise advice.
You were the strongest man I have ever known -
You inspired me to shine.

So how is it that someone can touch a soul
Without ever having met
Face to face?

Ah, for here,
Within words –
Within poetry, we meet
Within hearts, where our souls
Dance,
For a moment,
As one
Upon a page of
Pain, love, dreams, hurts, strengths, hopes, fears, and
True Tom Tales –

Thank God for poetry,
And for those we share it with.

Suddenly, all my troubles
Don’t feel so important now.
See? You are teaching me even now,

How to LIVE!

Because you just never know, do you?

You reminded me all we have is today,
This now – and I love you for that.

Rest easy my friend,
Where there is only love
And poetry spoken by angels…

Tom, dear - I will miss you more than words can express, your were strong
beyond words...fare thee well friend, peace has found you at lastXOXO

Computer Love

Daydreaming of you is all I seem to do.
Staring at your picture on my computer screen, wishing you were here staring back at me.
Your my computer love, my secret crush.
Leaving me in an intoxicating lush, your body I desperately lust.
If I can get to you through my computer screen, I will be able to show you exactly what I mean.
Long days and long nights of communication with you, helps me fantasize and make my dreams truer.
Love scenes play in my head, love scenes upon a fluffy feather bed.
I am dressed in all white, as if this was our wedding night.
You shirtless and touching me just right.
Delicate biting invited sweet kisses.
Deep staring makes my eyes glisten, and vigilant in guarding a possession.
As the intermittent gleams sparkling, makes the moon and the stars jealous
I shine my twinkling smile; the thoughts of you are so worthwhile.
So in love with your artistic style, I am leaving your picture as my computer background.
Being your virtual girl, I want to exist in your world.
Hypothetically speaking simply coexisting, sadly admitting we are only acquaintance.
Forever my computer love fantasy boy toy, I deploy.
Fore dreams are all I have of you, in reality I could never have you.
I just cannot seem to delete my computer files of you so…
Until the day we really make love, you shall remain my computer love.

Short Stuff

You were always happy, always on the move
with a great zest for life and a heart full of love.

We loved you too and checked to see if you’d get mad
if we mimicked your habits, but you laughed instead.

When we were in school together, you often horsed around;
I ribbed you about eye trouble, eyes too close to the ground

You lived life with gusto, knowing your time was short;
playing hard, working harder, often with a jolly retort.

Honest to a fault, you saw the positive side of things;
kept things in order, solid rock with no mood swings.

Cut off jeans, gray tee shirt, tinted glasses, baseball hat;
great big grin, teasing quip, a big hello, a friendly chat.

You were the best teacher any student ever had;
I could call on you to help as though you were my dad.

You drove my school bus on many a winter morn;
dressed in brown coveralls, bottom legs frayed and worn.

You were there in summer, helping coach baseball games;
at football with your camera or turning cartwheels in the gym.

You taught us how to care, how to study, how to play;
how to work on the computer and make the most of every day.

So determined to learn, spending hours at a throw;
self-teaching all the things a teacher needed to know.

You are the poem of my life, who you were tells the tale;
your poem will last forever, healing memories never pale.

You wrote the words of this poem, pages of my life tell the story;
you will read them back to me, when we meet again in glory.

Love for someone,

Sorrow is my companion now,
Why do you tears your drowsy?
The happiness you have received,
The realization of the world of sorrow.

Life has listened to me,
Why do you co-exit?
Love you all,
We all hate hatred.

Sorrow is my companion now,
Why do you tears your drowsy?

Everyone broken my heart,
Why do you do me love?
Why do you want us everything?
We have given everything to us only punishment.

Sorrow is my companion now,
Why do you tears your drowsy?
The happiness you have received,
The realization of the world of sorrow.

Under Love's Spell

It’s seven here yet there it’s still five
she'll be getting off work about now.
And my old computer whirls to life
it's the best my budget will allow.

The screen bleeps and I check my e-mail
my heart pounding eager for our date.
Yet I’m too early she’s not on line
so I log onto Skype and wait.

My mind wanders back to our first chat
when the wee hours melted into dawn
For with cramped fingers and sleepy eyes
we never noticed time rolling on.

Ever since then we talk every night
though thousands of miles divide our hearts.
And I can't wait to see her again
for when she smiles loneliness departs.

I’m jarred by her message “Hi Babe”
her romantic greeting transforms me
And instantly we’re under love’s spell
as the miles dissolve and set us free.

GIVE HER BACK TO ME

She sits there in front of her PC

Across the ocean and far from me

I know that it’s not really easy

Not the way we want it to be

But across the distance I feel her

Almost like I am with her there

I can really touch her soft brown hair

Her love is something that is beyond compare

My soul is longing for the final union

That sacred oneness, the spiritual communion

I would face the devil and his minions

Just to have our eternal family’s reunion

I know that our love will always be strong

Even through the distance we know we belong

She is the one, she is my hearts song

A love like ours could never be wrong

And now as I sit here in front of my PC

Far from her separated by sea

To the heaven above I cry out this plea

Dear God please give her back to me!

Oh My Computer

Oh Marcus

You recite to rehearse complexity

From every sense you drill the knowledge that you have to offer into our brains

But still the packs get hacked

You tried to Secure them with a WAP2 encryption but amnesia keeps popping up

As they go through the waves of air with sounds moving at a calculated speed

I tend to block one ear so that it doesn't leave without a copy in my cerebrum

I tried to project my knowledge to my computer

"Dude stop speaking Greek" it replied

In a silent text

You broke it down like the OSI model

Technically experiencing fine unused pieces by ant users

But forgetting everytime we close a chapter

We learn to forget

But still appreciating every moment you pause to give a helping Hand

Our technical mentor

Oh Marcus

For the love that you giving us is inevitable

But still hoping its not a good requirement

If we had to pay you back

The numbers would symbolize infinity...

Computer Love

Type across my heart's keyboard
Harshly, you broke my keys
No repair do my intrical parts
My function will never be the same
You played me like a game
Only I remain to blame
Never again will I allow you to touch my monitor
My hard drive was corrupted in a spontaneous blur
Currently rebooting....

Unknown

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?

Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.

And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.

I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep

Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.

And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.

Robot Boy, censored version

So robots write poetry now Here's what I think of that.

Yer shiny enough, Robot Boy
Yer hard as a shard of rock
You never run out of energy
You and yer digital clock
Sex isn’t problematic
There isn’t an issue, you know
Just wipe you off with a dampened cloth
And then you’re good to go
I don’t love you, Robot Boy
You’re not my one and only
I keep you in the cupboard just
For moments when I’m lonely
But now a ghost in the machine
Has affected yer circuitry
Ridiculous algorithms making
Mechanical poetry
You’re hardly a Parker or Larkin
Your verse gets much worse with each byte
I have to tell you, Robot Boy
Yer poetry’s hogwash, alright?
You’re not making me juices flow
With yer hexadecimal rant
Where’s the amo amas amat
Amamus amatis amant
Where’s the chuffing soul in it
It’s far too formulaic
Give me an unexpected twist
And something a bit archaic
Oh, yer metre’s simply textbook
Get you with yer perfect pentameters
Adhering to all the rules of form
Within the expected parameters
There’s no chuffing joy in it, Robot Boy
In yer tedious black and white
Oh, you’ve cracked me one off one about rainbows (yawn)
Bet that’s an interesting write
It’s not like you want to woo me
You’re programmed to say it like this
There’s zero soul in yer empty words
That leave me as cold as your kiss
You’re not a poet, Robot Boy
Yer not Shelley, or Byron, or Wilde
You’ve never screamed in the wild winds
Or dreamed the world as a child
I’m just going to dump you, Robot Boy
Calculate that, methinks
‘Cos you turn me off with yer binary thing
And frankly, yer poetry stinks

CYBER-LOVE

On life’s rebound mere months ago
caught head to toe in throes of woe
the youngest in my fam’ly crew
with insight to my rescue flew
she wrote me in, the caring mite
as member of a friendship site

From every place under the sun
new friends I gathered by the ton
the world itself got shrunk in size
merged lands and seas and mounts and skies
awed by the vast, new cyberspace
my throes of woe took second place

Good friends I raked in by tenfold
discarded some, if truth be told
a few I merely string along
the rest held dear in friendship strong
a wholesome blended potpourri
my cyber-spatial fam'ly tree

My best friend must remain unnamed
in his own world a man of fame
with ease he glided into mine
this angel of the human kind
who decades long has shared his life
with one he proudly calls “my wife”

Then Cyber-Cupid after drinks
with glint in eye played me a jinx
it hiccuped once, aimed arrow straight
I stepped aside but way too late
the arrow struck with practiced ease
pierced center-heart and bucked my knees

My cyber-love slid in my heart
distance despite, no inch apart
through emails sweet, fine poetry
we formed a bond unholy be
by gentle eyes, soft hazel-brown
turned inside-out and upside-down

The pastime which had woe replaced
ate hours at unwieldy pace
once-daily chats became our creed
though soon to two, then three increased
my loved one’s with me of like mind
(quite oft in chats we pen same lines)

My conscience pricks: he can’t be mine
though fine he’s loved by one as fine
in tri-love games there’s naught to gain
except but cause the good wife pain
in state of flux I chant my plight:
succumb or let my love take flight?

An Elegy For Noah Tuckwell

As tears flow from my reddened eyes
I can see what I have purely missed
As I look up to the dark grey skies
I will always remember our first fist

I sit here and think of your face
The first time I saw your light fluffy cheeks
I always wanted to lay my head on that place
Even when I was buried in my girlfriend’s twin peaks.

You never knew my love for you
I waited until it was too late
I often yearned for a way through
Both your heart and your front gate.

But now you’ve passed away
Slipped through my limp and lifeless fingers
But I still yearn for that fortuitous day
And the smell of your tobacco colour coat still lingers.

As I stare at my homage dedicated to you
I can feel a heart shaped hole called ‘Noah’
My body is conflicted, I don’t know what to do
It’s such a shame that you were found in pieces underneath a lawnmower.

So many holes, and opportunities now
I feel my body grow harder
For you Noah would only allow
One hole to be ventured in farther

As you led there erotically
on the grass that day
with your legs so lovely
I couldn’t take my eyes away

So I didn’t see
The lawnmower draw near
The blades running free
And beginning to career

Ever closer to your toes
To impoverish your heart
I’m the only one who knows
How a love like this does start

To think I won’t see you again
Striding majestically down the Bath Road
And, protecting your shoulders from the rain
Your little tobacco coloured coat

I wish I had been able to say
All this to you when you were alive
I came so close once, that fateful day
When we were standing outside the Beehive

Your hair was golden in the glow
Of the solitary standing streetlamp
Yet still, you couldn’t ever know
My feeling for you or my heart would cramp

And now you’re dead you selfish thing
You’ll never hear me speak these thoughts
You’ll never feel me ‘flap my wings’
Or ogle me as I cavort

But now you’re in the ground
In the darkness and despair
But I have now created a mound
Where I can collect your hair

My heart is soaked in liquid salt
My clothes cling to my body
Although I know that it’s no-one fault
Staring at you was my favourite hobby

Now it’s time to say goodbye
My lovely little pet
My heart still yearns, my eyes still cry
Although we never met

Cybernetic Love

I thought I knew about true love.
In fact, I saw myself as all-knowing.
Then She appeared from above
And my ignorance was full showing.

I had never known a soul so sweet
Nor one so selfless, gifted, and kind.
Her words give my heart a new beat
And continue to command my mind.

We romance in secret in cyberspace
Where love-making words preside.
Every exchange puts me in a place
Warm, soft, and sensual at her side.

We both know we may never meet—
No, not in lovers’ flesh-affirming fashion
That makes our love ever more sweet,
Ever more real with cyberspaced passion.

Compassionate Computer Guy To His Love

Come chat with me and be my special friend
And we will all the internet explore
The blogs, the webs, the hours we’ll spend
We’ll hack and open each forbidden door

There we will sit at our desks
And listen to those in cubicles
As we drink our Red Bulls sitting at rest
Melodious sounds from infinite electricals

And I will make thee a bed recycled vellum
As the fragrance of ink and chemicals meld in
A cap of vines and violet plastic flowers
We’ll sit at our computers and wile away the hours

Computer dear

Computer dear

Everyday when I switch on my computer,
I say to myself,
Gets up from sleep at my one touch,
Recharged, he appears with a huge smile,
Is he in love with me ?

Taking all my commands throughout the day,
And still giving his best,
Eye to eye without a flicker,
Working with me in unison,
I have the keys to his heart,
As he unlocks my brain,

Takes me to google,
And we travel around the world,
Keeps me updated what come may,
One button click and its a child's play,

Anything that becomes obsolete,
He helps me by selection of delete,
Each data that will sincerely behave,
I am able to place it under save,
He is my work passion, a must obsession,

Modern life, technology will surely steer,
There's no life without you computer dear !

I Now Pronounce You, Hus-band-width and Wifi

I was sick of seeing one plate, fork, and knife
And that lonely cup of drink
As if I was a piece in a painted still life
Like those dishes placed in the sink

So I clicked on a dating site as the others
Seeking a fine baby boomer
And in time chose one of the likeliest lovers
Who laughed at my sense of humor.

We emailed, and Facebooked and tweeted on Twitter
Then Skyped every single night
Though we lived far away, I knew I wouldn’t quit her
‘Til we got our liaison right.

We transmitted vows over the wireless sky
And kept each of them sweet and short
Then after being pronounced, husbandwidth and wifi
We kissed through a USB port

There's Love In That Thar Computer

You know I really love my computer Coz all my Soup friends live in it! Since the advent of the computer generation Can't list them all, time doesn't permit Youse guys are all so close to my heart Every one has your own special place From countries near and across the globe What a fabulous way to start my day Feel all mushy with a tear in my eye A sentimental old geezer for sure Never before have I felt so much love Even you gentlemen have your allure To clarify, you male dudes, it's strictly platonic So in case you get any ideas Squish 'em right now, I only love ladies As well as pussy cats and cheetahs Where in the world did “cheetahs” come from They'd likely rip me apart, as smile So don't try snuggling up to one any time soon They're not swayed by your male guile © Jack Ellison 2015
