The Squirrel

~My Nutty Squirrel Poem~

Up in a tree, on a branch
Now you see me, now you don't!

Sneaky and fast, I'm adorable
Now, why would you hunt or shot me for fun?
Do you like, how fast I run?
I'm not just another chipmunk
Stuffing my face with nuts,
I'm classy and beautiful,
The best part of nature.....

Red pointed ears, I hear you drawing near.
Chuckle, chuckle, caffeine free
I saw you looking at my fine coat.
Fluffy and curious, touch me and I'm Calling PETA!
See YA--- Life Is Beautiful!!!
I'm stuffing these nuts back into my mouth
and Jumping onto another tree :) The End
........
Love The Squirrel from another World.
Love LINDA

Daffodil

I’m a lovely daffodil, yellow like the sun.
See me in my garden spot; I’m the mellow one.
Nearby are my tulip friends; how I love their hues.
But a bright blue crocus has turned into my muse.

In the breeze when all we blooms tend to brightly sway,
I keep hoping that blue crocus wants to look my way.
Hummingbirds and butterflies are great to see around.
There must be a hive somewhere. Bees surely do abound!

There’s this little chipmunk. Such fun antics he plays,
but it’s never long enough that cute critter stays.
Since I’m whimsical, Daffy you may call me.
I’m being visited right now by a honeybee!

The Autumn I Love

An aromatic whiff of evergreen tickles my nose as I approach the woods. And those scented breezes smell fresh and clean, unlike the crowded city neighborhoods. A pathway of pine needles and green moss leads me to a grove of ancient oak trees. And a chipmunk chides me like he's my boss, upset that I come and go as I please. I wade into a sea of crumbled leaves that crackle and crunch with each step I take. And watch bushy-tailed squirrels, nature's thieves, raid winter stashes before the first snowflake. While a murder of crows cawing above seems apropos, for the Autumn I love. (Sonnet) 10-20-2020

Small Love An Ocean

Small Love~An Ocean

to gain trust
of a wild heart
even so small
as a Chipmunk
a grace
a benison
bestowed by the goddess
who took pity
upon this fools soul.

Quite Poetic

Energetic
Closed my eyes
Quickly realized
Slowly breathing
Happy seeing
Friendly visit
Elicit
One on the porch
Moving forth
Little feet
Looking for a treat
Instead of a bird
A chipmunk we heard
Eating away
Happy at play
Through the children's legs
Laughter we pegged
Went for a walk
Indeed, we saw a lot
A lady bug
Full of hugs
The Lord's presence shown
Butterfly inside our home
Heaven's glory we felt
Heartfelt
Blessed our grounds
What else shall be found
Down came the rain
Rainbow came

Chip

Hi! I’m Chip! Follow me! I’m chipper, did you see me there? I like to eat potato chips and I love to play with my chipmunk friends especially in the bushes around Chipotle! You can write my name on a chipboard if you’d like… as I said, my name is Chip. Tuesday, October 26, 2021
