Winds of Change

sweet zephyr breezes
jasmine empress butterflies
rainbows in our sky

                                           silence once golden
                                           angelic voices trumpet
                                           song of the poet

unity breeds strength
moonbeams in togetherness
sunlight for each one

                                           living in the now
                                           join the love revolution
                                           smile on your brother

seeker of eden
no longer searching alone
bards in harmony

My Brother

Livers
	bleed

lungs
	gasp for breath

vessels of poetry
	read

pain disappears
	tears recede

love floats above the sea
	tides of sadness

recede
	planted in marshlands

seeds
	friendship bloomed

living for words
	no longer matters

I embrace my brother
	love his might

standing on cliffs ledge
	gazing this new morn

softly I whisper
	we are one

Remains

Revenge sweet turning with hate
a brother rises striking blows
landing hits brother in wicked deeds
evilness within mans own soul

Cruelty crawling inside desires
suffering greed of nations they plea
Rise up against nations man at war
tearing asunder God's creation
People slowly murdering loveless

Pride a sinful act of violence
laced with pain destroying pure love
everything that once stood out housed peace
so fine cut beautiful, good sharing
caring free, in this one, big show rolls

Keeps turning, the wheel of hope
whom will speak, as we all become part
of his heavenly dust in the end
or burning remains of hell's fire

Of Grief and Pain

Grief I have known little of.
It’s not as if I ever lost
my one true love.

One brother taken in his prime
saddened us, and yet I know
we’ll see him in good time

My father - two years ago -
passed away, but a stranger was he to me.
Grief too difficult I’ve yet to know.

Yes, great grief I think has yet to be my bane.
I’m compensated physically instead
with chronic pain!

Monkey See

Monkey See~

There once was a monkey named Frank
Who loved to walk the plank
He said too many jokes
Pulled too many hoaxe-s
Ha! Ha! Ha! Then he got a good spank

*

Who's that monkey in front of me
I dare to hang with you on a tree
Oh! What I do? Will you do?
Together we are like glue
Is that my flea or your flea?

Blood Brother

Music needs lyrics to make it whole
Lyrics are words that touch the soul
Listening to one song after another
Springsteen singing "My Blood Brother"
It tells a story of of childhood friends
A genuine love that never ends
Growing up and parting ways
Changes coming in passing days
And it takes me back to the things we did
The friends I had when I was just a kid
Although time has pulled us all apart
I still carry each one in my heart

But the stars are burnin' bright like some mystery uncovered
I'll keep movin' through the dark with you in my heart
My blood brother--Bruce Springsteen

Eying the Babe

Ah, my brother is finally sleeping
Through my head mischievous thoughts are creeping
It’s my time to shine now
     To him I won’t kowtow
All of the attention I’ll be keeping

I’ll make the best use of this special time
Beg for more after each nursery rhyme
I’ll play with his best toys
Till he makes the first noise
Because then I’ll just be admired part time

I Am

I am mother (father) sister daughter
Favourite aunt, SELDOM rant
Pan Flute player, dragon slayer
Own nothing pink, at least I think
Teach Sunday school, kids find that cool
I am not to lean, I’m sure you’ve seen
Curly hair, I seldom swear
But if I do, God help you
Sing in a choir, now I’m on fire
Love my dog, I want a blog
I am very kind, at least in my mind
Love good movies, never been much of a sleaze
I just gave you a look inside my book
So for now I take a bow.

I am female
Sorry I just found a fluffy beautiful pink bath robe.

Love Thy Brother

L-ove for one another is what we all need.
O-n earth especially with all of the greed.
V=anity of vanities can plant it's own seed.
E-ach one should love as in the Bible we read.

T-he Ten Comandmants tell us to love.
H-ave mercy on us we pray to the Lord above.
Y-et we still don't love, we wear a face glove.

B-ring all your burdens to the cross, we say.
R-easoning that Jesus shed His blood there one day.
O-nly He had the greatest love for mankind, and for their sins did pay.
T-hen after three days in the ground where he lay,
H-e arose from the dead, on earth could not stay.
E-very Easter we celebrate this wondrous Love.
R-emembering Christ and His Love from above.

My Philosophy of Love

Love is the question philosophers ponder
And a priceless fortune which humans squander
It is selfless and selfish, caring and sharing
Shy and reserved, bold and daring
It's the tears of happiness and the heartache of sorrow
Yesterday's dreams and the hope for tomorrow
It's the quickening pulse at the mere thought of another
The compassion one feels for the pain of a brother

Make America White Again

"Make America White Again"
Will never make any sense
Despite the tweets of "GENIUS" Trump
Or Republicans like Pence

Brown-skinned people filled this land
From one end to the other
And though they had their differences
"Eve" is everyone's mother

Though some are prone to cast a stone
Or ridicule their brother
What makes a nation great again
Is love for one another.

Marble In Columns On Green

On a slope graced with green
White marble stands in proud salute

For beneath these engraved pillars of memory
Lie the resting places of heroes

A solitary green fir looks down
As if sheltering the lost and the taken

So many names, from all walks of life
A father, brother a girlfriend or wife

On a sunny day, they glow radiant like their lives
On a dull day, they stand out against the greys

For the living, life goes on
Tomorrow is another day

Love Letter

I saw you many times throughout the years
and knew you as the brother of my friend.
How is it that the world can coax and steer
us to or from the person fate intends?
For seven sunless years, you hid from sight,
just waiting in the wings for unknown cue.
My heart was burning out with waning light,
but you were coming slowly into view.
I know we took each other by surprise -
I never thought you'd be the one to light
the flame that once burned softly in my eyes;
with tenderness, your love restored my sight.

Now even on the darkest days, I shine
to know your noble heart is truly mine.

Tribute To a Brother

One of a kind So rare today
A privileged to have known
A true gentleman in every way
So gifted
His poems so uplifting
So full of love and appreciation
Would brighten up our darkest days.

I never was lucky enough to have a brother
But Erich was a brother to all like no other
So caring he gave so much
Even though we live over oceans
Everyone still felt his special touch.

Sleep now our brother
For it won't belong
Before you walk through natures garden once more
And hear the bluebirds song
When tears of sadness are turned to tears of joy
As we see your smiling face again.

I Can Only Wish

I buried my boys today
Thirteen wasn't bad enough
What a pain in my heart
It's mine now, gone from them
They suffer no more

More than a hundred years
Barely seen half of that
I can only wish
Brothers to the very end
I can only wish

Love to take my boys out
Take them out all day
Take them to the running field
Run the while away
I can only wish

Love to buy my boat back
Buy it back all day
Wish I had my old boat
Wish I’d fish today
If I could only fish

Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit

Earth is what we become and makes us whole.
Air is the first and last thing we breathe in.

Fire is what consumes us and eats our sin.
Water cleanses us, mind, body and soul.

Spirit is in us all and makes us who we are.
Without these we would fall oh so far.

Invite them into our sacred circle and pay tribute.
As we are condemned, we are resolute.

We love fiercely and fight for our freedom.
 Ignorance breeds fear and unwisdom.

Thank them for gracing us with their presence.
While we give our thanks and recompense.

Exhilarated and feeling like a newborn child,
Wow this circle's "magic" is wild.

Me and My Sister

i mind when i was wee
playing games with my sister

we kept each other free
me and my sister

we loved with all our hearts
protecting each sister

even after having kids
joined each sister

Combining all these things
playing all the games
loving with our hearts
loving each others kids

We are glued, me and my sister!!

Wild Tuna

why is it easier to look at you
through one eye as opposed to two
when we should be totally
enamored with the thought
that we have come this far
we of flesh and blood, but enemies of spirit
cannot go on this way

a desert of parched emotions
cherry wood furniture atop marble floors
transformed our home into
an oasis of tears and coffee

this trivial mirage under scathing sun light
left us grappling for sustenance
be it water or be it love

empathy should be our cry
we stood hand in hand me and you
now with grey hair for a crown
these life stories on our face
we joust over flashbacks
and weakened rungs

For Richard Lamoureux's "Any line" contest.

Richard Seale-d Door's line: slammed shut are the doors in "A mind made up".

You told me before
slammed shut are the doors
when my love for you went astray
I got my comeuppance
he's worth not a tuppence
and rumor has it he's gay

Lest I've need of another
visit to me brother
sometime for a quick howdy-do
or longing for discourse
in code as of Morse
on the stealth oiled a hinge, p'haps two

Ah, found me a crack
Leech-a is back
my love for the other's dissipated
you smile goodly, warmly
longingly, lovingly
my return welcome and anticipated

Unspoken Words

I didn't get to tell him
He didn't get to know
Just how much he meant to me
How much I loved him so

And he didn't need to tell me too
I knew he felt the same
But yet, we slowly drifted apart
And both must take the blame,

We let both friends and relations
Influence the path to take
Listening to them, instead of our hearts
Was one of our biggest mistakes,

Different interests too, came between us
We forgot to make time for each other
So, instead of being two people in love
We were more like sister and brother,

There was no formal ending
We simply walked away
To a lifetime of heartbreak and regret
For the words we didn't say.

You Had a Crush On Her

You had a crush on her You had a crush on her Being sure as well Love is what you felt, Dating her exclusively Without ever telling her. She indulged in your care Like you were her kid-brother, And you rejoiced finding passion In proximity of her splendor, Feeling mighty blessed When she wrapped you in a hug. You didn’t know how to ask What kind of love that was, Had no clue how to talk about The flutter in your heart, And now you're too grown-up to ask Yet, you are dying to find out If she ever connected the dots.
