Yearning For God

Yearning for hope shadows her thoughts Blazing through her heart and soul Her stomach is all tied up in knots She longs for love that will make her whole Grief constricts her arid throat with worry Life has given her so much to contend with Will God forgive the anger and fury? She wonders if true love is only a myth Black sorrow beckons to her gloomy plans Whispering despair instead of compassion The empty church she takes in as she scans Her clammy skin has all but changed to ashen Breaths of mourning curse her thoughts of hope Brilliant light seems to pour from the pews Will she ever find a sincerely good way to cope? Could this be the time when she will choose? Finally, her heart gives in to the radiant joy Flaming across the church with brilliant poise Her heart is filled with a love nothing can destroy Grace has saved her soul from the hate filled noise A Rhyme Story-Poem With Eyes On Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Mystic Rose Rose December 16, 2020
