Two Meaningful Items For Sale

There are two items I have for sale,
it’s on clearance and they tell a tale.
One afternoon down in Town Square,
I met a lady so beautiful and rare.

She wore a ruby red lacy dress,
she took my breath away, I confess.
We married three weeks later in Spring,
I gave her my grandmothers wedding ring.

She wore it with elegance and allure,
but an illness came that she had to endure.
We only shared five years together,
though I hoped we’d carry love forever.

Now I know not what to do with this gem,
nor this ruby dress that needs a trim and hem.
So I shall try to give them away real cheap,
and pray to God this secret I can keep.

Why you ask I want to sell this band?
Because it means nothing without her hand.
She wore the dress perfectly, a size seven,
but now her beautiful body rests in heaven.

What’s that, you said you’ll buy them from me?
I sure hope you see their meaningful beauty.
I shall never forget those that she wore so sweet,
how sad I sold them off the Town Square street.
