Love Poem: Two Lovers

Two Lovers

Moonlit splendor resounds in a moment so tender,
a willow can never weep when two lovers sleep.
Morn glory awakes, and the sunshine does surrender
to all the secrets that passionate nights do keep.
No valley is too low, and no mount is too steep,
when it is the time for love’s existence to render.

So she opens her eyes to see his face of fawn,
looks at his smile and knows the road’s worthwhile.
Dark chestnut eyes that break the light of dawn,
for it was always him that embraced her every mile.
She remembers when daddy walked her down the aisle,
and it was his eyes filled with tears that she was drawn.

The day is to be spent picnicking down by the reverie,
he surfaces her like pebbles along a tidal shore.
He was held captive by redemption, she set him free,
for there is nothing about her that he doesn’t adore.
Their life still has so many marvelous things in store,
as they see only the miracles two lovers can see.

The eventide bestows the moonlit splendor anew,
yet another night of sleep they can both hold dear.
A day spent with each other was long overdue,
for it was just the exhilaration of him being near.
She kisses him goodnight and wipes a tender tear,
a willow can never weep when two lovers renew.
