True Love Waits and the Reply

My dearest love, I hope this finds you well. You said you needed time apart to think. My world has shattered, and each day is hell without you! Into nothingness I sink. I know how frightened you’ve been to commit to our relationship. And when you said you wished to date around, I had to grit my teeth! I think about you in the bed of someone else! Oh, darling, don’t you miss my gentle touch each morning when you wake? I can’t accept the ending of such bliss! Recall our many good times. For the sake of all we had, I'm waiting, and I pray that you will not throw everything away. My love, I got your note and had to write you back because I need for you to know I think about you every day and night. I look outside and see the falling snow reminding me of those sweet moments when we’d come in from the cold and then get warm beside a fire, make love all night, and then I’d wake to find you snuggled by my arm. There is no one but you. and I was wrong to leave you! Oh, Darling, please forgive me. I’m coming home, and now it won’t be long till I am in your arms. How patiently you’ve waited! You have shown a love so true I likewise pledge my lasting love to you. Written October 15, 2016 For Phillip Garcia's True Love Waits - 2 English Sonnets Contest
