Love Poem: True Love Waits

True Love Waits

Gifted with a pulsating open heart
I could not help but be attracted to love
Love, who, by crooked ways, brought to me a jolt
So much that to live again, I became brave

Love radiated innocence, sweetly
Love seemed to be made of the divine,
Love showed me the meaning of misery
Love showed me that one should never love blind

Love, enraptured by mundane gains, broke my soul
Love, selfish and arrogant, repulsed me
So much that now, I have around me, a wall
A wall which allows me to write poetry

Poetry, elevating and soothing,
Poetry, healing and rejuvenating!

But then, the lover's heart is open and warm
So much that by itself, patience settles in
Wanting to keep myself safe from any harm
I indulged not in evil and sin

Why, being a sentimental fool
I knew that love would mend its ways, turn around
And realize that like me, it hates our fall
Yes, love wishes to stand, with me, there, where it abounds

I was breathless when love came back to me
It is said that such happens only in books
But love came back and gave me more poetry
Love came back and grabbed me in its hooks

True Love waits, true love sits, calm and composed
Yearning yes, but celebrating its own cause!
