True Love Waits

My wants imbue myself so soft and pure,
stirring weakened heart to turn your way.
You kissed my supple lips to lastly lure,
unknowing time duration left to stay.

Pain inside envelops fragile body,
within my frailty; learn of empty soul.
Confusion wraps me tight; too weak to free,
to want my life to once again be whole.

To learn at last your fading - passing quest,
before your time on earth is fully spent.
Grieve not; you fully gave your very best,
I loved you knowing I have loved a gent.

Demise reclaims resolve but leaves esteem,
evoking real approach not just the dream.

                        *********

Regrets to knowing love depart me now,
my youth not ripened but has just begun.
To find again the past; existing won’t allow,
but I surmise that I sincerely won.

Forgiveness not a question dealing thought,
can’t undo what your endless strife has stole.
Bequeathing loving friendship taught,
you pierced my heart and I resigned control.

Support me for unknowing long-ago,
I did not see your feelings from the start.
I feel contrite; inside my feelings flow.
not seeing what was in your dying heart.

Your love removed my earthly aches at last,
and left my spirit evermore aghast.
