Love Poem: Trembles and Thrills

Trembles and Thrills

One bright sunny day, We went to the carnival; My sweet love and me, We went on the Ferris Wheel; And I was trembling inside. It looked real high, Not a single but double; Hold onto me please, I had thrills mingled with fear; Only a bar held us in. My love held me close, Then we began to rise up; Oh my trembling heart, Up we went into the sky; My love whispered he loved me. When we reached the top, It came to a sudden stop; Talk about a thrill, With a bar for protection; The whole city below us. Then a gusty wind, My love kissed me with passion; The Ferris Wheel swayed, He reached into his pocket; Presenting me with a ring. Oh I was trembling, I said, yes, yes, yes, I will; We kissed long and deep, It was totally thrilling; To be stuck up in the sky. __________________________ November 4, 2015 Tanka For the contest, Trembles and Thrills, sponsor, Olive Eloisa Guillermo Second Place
