Love Poem: Torchure

Torchure

The clock was ticking right along.
My heart didn't know a sad song.
The world just turned, nothing was wrong.
Time wasn't short, time wasn't long.

I had no cares, no need to guess.
Was in a fog, kind of a mess.
And then I saw the sweetest smile.
My tune had changed, she turned the dial.

Somehow she felt the same way too.
It felt like love, but no one knew.
That down the road without a clue.
He'd come along and we were through.

Sometime's in life two candles burn.
Then one goes out and then you learn.
One becomes a torch as the other dims.
And all those love songs become hymns.

No body knows how long love lives.
Inside a heart when one forgives.
You think that new love comes for all.
But for some there's just a wall.
