and help smooth out each other’s bumps along the way.
Like muscles attached to bones
our love works together
to move us through this world’s
ups and downs,
highs and lows
as we support and lean on one another.
Like a heart shared
by Siamese twins
our hearts no longer
beat for one,
but for two,
they beat in unison
with neither silent
at the same time,
sharing their melodious song of life
with each other.
