Love Poem: Today I Kissed a Girl

Today I Kissed a Girl

Today I kissed a girl.
We kissed, in eternal meaning,
Her arms around my waist,
mine coiled around her neck.
We said goodnight, and sleep tight,
my last words. I scanned my hand,
remembering her feel, petit, taught,
Like a most beautiful silver spring.

Her eyes pierce mine, she rips out a smile.
Our eyebrows kiss, and dance in sensual cycles,
Around her heart-melting gaze. She entrances me.
Her hair gleams and shines, in celestial light, my eyes
Cannot escape because nothing else matters.
Her voice plays god's melody in my ears,
My brain shuts off, the world is robbed,
Like a sparrow without wings,
Of its worth.

I am caught, foolishly, in the chains of my naivety.
They tear at my flesh, and still I stand smiling.
The shackles, binding my arms, consist
Of my own nerve, my sinew, my being, I
Am restricted by the definition of Adam,
My own essence denying me satisfaction.
I lift, with strain and derision,
The vessel of recognition
To my head. I bite the barrel and cry

Our lips are unfamiliar, our eyes
And eyebrows and hair and hands and bodies kiss
Every day, she places golden sheets
Of the strongest steel, around my heart,
And then, it is exploded, a supernova,
In my ribcage.

She has broken my heart,
She never meant to.
She does not know how to,
Break a heart,
Or how a heart can shatter,
Into millions of fragments.

She knows only rainbows,
Stinging lashes of rain
Are unknown, to this earthbound angel.
Only dancing stars in beautiful,
Cloudless nights are friends of hers,
As they light up Goethe.

She breaks many hearts,
Because she, was never broken.
Never touched by love
Or hate, unspoilt.
She was perfect
Purity,
Incarnate.
