To the Moon and Back

Just a few years back……
Beady doe eyes, lips beautiful lilac,
Dimpled chubbiest little cheeks,
Awesome twin ponies, the cutest chic!
There sat my mom with her friend, rhyming alphabet.
Swinging legs in black ballerina shoes, pretending to be alert.

Just a few years back…….
Sparkling liquid eyes, Rosy pink lips,
Roped braid pony and sculpted chin,
Skin radiant peaches and cream, lovely pretty teen.
In her favourite pinafore dress and beige tackie,
Chatting quietly through her chirpy eyes.
There stood my queen, gazing her beau and bestie.

Just few years back…...
On the ground, early Sunday morning,
Chasing the ball and taking baskets, non-stop dodging.
There played my bratty mom, wild and free under scorching sun.

Just a few years back…….
As nervous, as I find my self today.
Mugging up and preparing for her mid-term test,
There sat my brilliant mom, near this bed stead.

Just a few years back……
Leaving her house forever,
Tears and smiles all together,
This was the place, where the prettiest bride joined my father forever.

Just a few years back….
In her lap, a chubby cute child,
Kisses and cuddles, she had her brightest smile.
Yes, there began my journey with her through miles.

Just a few minutes back….
Her wrinkled hands, worried expression,
Her concern and affection,
Focussed always at her cynosure (I) with deep love in her eyes,
There sat my mom, memories treasured and emotions entwined.

Just a few years away….
On top of the world, on cloud nine,
There my mom shall stand proudly beside.
With happiness sparkling in her triumphant eyes.
And I shall hold her hand till I die.
