To a Girl
At last I feel my love so close to me,
Thy breath, a soft caress upon my cheek,
And in that touch I yield my soul to thee,
Yet my spirit is neither frail nor weak.
It is thy love that gives my heart its strength,
The strength that seeks to sate thy own desire,
And for thy smile will stretch to any length,
To see thy joy reflect in eyes of fire.
For love has come to guide us like a star,
It shimmers bright, so bright between us two,
Each forgotten dream that brought us where we are,
Two lovers who now dance the arcane blue.
As here and now we come as one to meet,
Two souls once halved in love unite, complete.
