Love Poem: Time Together

Time Together

I lost you long ago
Before we ever met,
When your heart was forged in steel
By one whose name shall rest unsaid.

Still, one day we will be young again,
Ten thousand summers gone.
A glance across a shadowed street
Will catch our fleeting breath.

Deep dark eyes that held in thrall
A love beyond recall,
Will stir a hidden well of life,
Within my whispered soul.

Your smile will bear the distant words
Of long forgotten friends,
Their dreams to cast a spell for us
From God's immortal height.

Though this world will sweep away
All memories, all pain,
Our light will touch this place and fill
These captured hearts, once more.

Heaven itself may rise and fall,
The dust of angels drift,
But I would neither see, nor care,
If this time together's all.
