Love Poem: Tied To the Tracks

Tied To the Tracks

My Satin Doll happiness was a fading view
of your elegant Ella Good-N-Plenty camisole caboose
Having Memory Lane sultry thoughts,
bed-craving crypt feelings from the past
Adventurous parlor games that were so you,
Hide-and-Seek was the favorite one you loved to choose
Peter Pan ways which came to nought ...
shovel more coal cold love into the ballast
Leaving my Smoky tears tied to the tracks,
I wanna Hyman hold the Phyllis fire from your bosom again
Oooh Baby, Baby, feel the burning pleasure
of your sweat pouring down on me
But, frozen reality awakens me to the facts:
Choo-choo Charlize is loco chugging coming ‘round the bend
Watching slow death speed-dial with leisure,
it’s apparent this love was not to be
Polly Purebred me, sooo Underdog lost
Tied to the tracks ...
a severed heart was the pain ticket cost
