Ticks of Laughter

What is this peacefulness you seek? This love that has you smiling cheek to cheek A second hand ticks And you laugh at it Ashes fall And you’re having a ball Do you not know the mood the brood the attitude Of the day in dismay Of the people on display A joy splat array of hurried and buried Multitudes of jury A bubble inside you Seeks to defy you Of worry Of that scurry That seems to belie you Remembrance of honey This drip sweet retreat Of all that was, is now, to be How you do it If they only knew it Would blast right through it And the night would be a ray Of moonlight Stars vibrating Clear skies Soft inviting wind To let them in
