Love Poem: Through the Mess

Through the Mess

I would believe in sight if only I couldn’t see
I would believe in faith if I had no clarity
And as the context grows I find it all breaks down
Because rendition dies when I can hear your sounds

I could depend on truth if it wasn’t all a lie
I could accept this life if I knew how I’d die
And as the whirlwind grows I find I’ve nothing left
Because I spiral on and see that I am dead

I only want a reason to believe in love
I only want to know my heart’s not scars and blood
But when the picture grows I find myself betrayed
Because the picture’s there it means that I’m depraved

And so I whisper on until I find a voice
And so I listen in and clear out the noise
And when I find my mind perhaps I will be free
Because if I refuse to kill there must be life in me

I would believe in good if I could see the proof
I want to believe in wrong but I know it’s not the truth
And as my wisdom grows I know I’ll find my love
A place deep down in me that takes me high above
