Three Wishes
My three precious wishes my true love showed to me
In the life that he led it was plain for me to see
Remembering
~
My hero
My best friend
My love
A childhood of adversity from which he rose above
He talked to all and sundry from a beggar to a king
He was never judgmental, for kindness was his thing
Never complaining when cancer had crept in
As bravely he endured the pain always with a smile
Oh so charming to the end and smiling all the while
Three wishes for me would always have to be
~
To never judge others
To always show kindness
To exhibit great bravery
And these three wishes truly are the gifts he left for me
When his precious soul did leave this earth to soar towards eternity
