Love Poem: Threads

Threads

We must tie them down and keep them safe
To understand their weight in wake
Watch as these threads do wind
one by one holding new mind

At once I memorised the line of your face
Shapes of each word spoken with pace
I knew then in twenty years time
Your hand would still be in mine

Life and death has come and since gone
But still my love for you blossoms on
Climbing up each new branch
Avoiding every avalanche

We forged our own world kept out of view
A life kept quiet for just me and you
Our evolution merged as one in tune
An everlasting honeymoon
