i had waited for it
earned it held it
cared and nurtured it
watched it grow
as if i had given birth to it
suddenly it was ripped
from my hands
from my heart
i was stripped
of his love
of him
roots
and all
torn
brutally
violently
viciously
leaving me
barely standing
alone
in the dark
a widow
the gaping hole
in my chest
inconsolable
