Love Poem: The Taste of Salt

The Taste of Salt

The rain fell where you kissed me.
the salty taste was strange.
I don't recall the weather, ever,
having this much range.
I am having trouble staying dry.
Bated in this muddy ditch.
I am losing my grip on the cliff of hearts,
their Queen was such a *****.
I pondered the ache, the painful,
the possible sweet release.
The idea that the struggle to believe would pass,
and eventually it would cease.
But the thought I could no longer stand in the rain,
just because the world saw me at fault...
I chose to stay and swim,
and I gladly drank the salt.
