Love Poem: The Tapestry

The Tapestry

A tapestry of love lost
hangs in dim-lit shadows
on the wall of my mind
Woven pictures and dreams
wrapped by a golden thread

I caress each threaded color of love once met
when the heart's tendrils wound together
from a weaver's threaded exuberance
My fingers caress the sadness from this cloth
which hangs on the loneliest of walls
where I find a realm of quiet reflection
and see a mist rising in the mind's darkness
where I hear the soft fluttering of two dove's wings
which disappear, leaving me and my tapestry alone
