Love Poem: The Stranger

The Stranger

She is your beautiful Mona Lisa

Two years of shared life,

You know how she takes her coffee,
But not where she grew up,
You know that talking dirty makes her come,
But, know nothing of her family.

At night,
you sleep side by side,
Molding her small frame to you,
As she sheds silent tears.

You can love her, live with her, have her-
on her terms,

This is your silent agreement.

Because you asked questions in the beginning and
She disappeared, broke furniture or
gave you the silent treatment for days.

You know this isn't normal,
No one has ever completely understood you like you,

You know your family and friends think you are a fool,
No one has changed your grey world into techincolor,

You know you will come home one day and she will be gone,
You are willing to take what you can get and
make denial a state of existence

Just to hold her, be with her,
For one more year, month, week, day, minute, moment.
