The Shadow of Your Smile
The shadow of your smile is always there-
just like you gave me on that special day,
when first I saw you standing on the stair;
your smile imprinted in my heart to stay.
Just as it was in spring so long ago,
now in our winter years, your smile still brings
the joy of knowing our love shines aglow,
and in our golden years, your smile still sings.
The shadow of your smile from first love throes,
when youth endowed us both with life anew,
still lingers in my heart, although now shows,
your smile is framed by winter’s weathered hue.
The shadow of your smile, since those first days,
sustained my guiding light of love- always
