Love Poem: The Sanctuary of Love

The Sanctuary of Love

I wrote poems to your "heart"
under the long red "thread" of sunset
that laid upon the horizon's "beautiful" skyline of twilight
as the clear songs from "birds" echoed in the distance
before the coming "dark" of night

The breadth between our eyes was "fathomless"
when my love yearned for you in the "silence" of time
aware of every quiver from your lips
that welcomed each undulating "breathless" kiss
that filled the heart of passion
beneath your soft black "hair"
as it hung down though captured by my palms
where I looked into your deep "green" eyes
and lived on the outskirts of paradise

Love was the wondrous velvet road we journeyed on
to find the furthest reaches of our souls
and touch the deepest intimacy of our passionate understandings
it's there I laid my poems upon your naked heart
as an offering to our love
