Love Poem: The Sage

The Sage

She danced beside me in many years of fascination
ephemeral delicate, a willows branch in a breeze of ballet

I loved her then to the fullness of my cup
and she drank the wine poured from my heart

Through season together we squandered naught but breath
perchance then the exhalations gave birth unknown
untrodden vistas of imagination
to send resplendent to the stars a tiny drop of love

Those days in which we did not care, and did not know
but left all to fate, all to faith and all for every moment

I loved her, yes with the fullness of my cup
that sweet essence to life offered up

For a life times lessons in wisdom she brought
to echo upon my dull ears

Perchance the truth so much wiser she than me

And now dancing into untrodden vistas she has taken her path
and I with this memory begin to see
love of its own beauty will always increase endlessly
now many a pilgrim seeks to learn this from me

I drink the wine she poured from her heart
more enlightenment am I able to offer them ?

In my silence her continued composition
of all in fate, of all in faith and all for this very moment.
