The Promise

The promise

And so he set about diligently arranging , rearranging, painting, putting in new drapes, new sheets, not that she was a perfectionist, he knew her taste , he placed everything meticulously , though the chances of this room her room ,being used was remote, it had been over a year since they parted, not in animosity, no ill will just bad timing, they both agreed that if they had met years before or maybe a year or later things would be different , but fate in this round of poker ,played it's devious hand, and won..
The days, turned into months ,the months turned into years but he kept his promise..
So each day he opened her room door , straighten the curtains, straighten her pillows, with the hope that one day she would return..
